I played the 09 Jungle Fury game at Apocalypse. It was a great scenario, and the people that organized and reffed the game did a fantastic job. There was a spaghetti lunch with bread, which wasn't the best. It was a bit spicy and paintball and pasta don't mix well. The only negative thing about the field is an area of swamp like marsh, its deceptively deep, and can be quite a hazard when you try to move through it. Overall a great place.

I've been around this field for a very long time and no matter when it was, the refs have been, and as far as I can tell, will remain to be poor in quality. I remember very vividly a time I was playing, got shot out, went off field, and there the "refs" were flirting with each other. They sit on the side and spectate more than help.
The prices are also a bit out there. It's a higher entry fee and all day air, but that's not what gets to me. What does is the 100 dollars per case they charge for 55/case they have. I understand they're trying to make some money, but that's taking it a bit too far.
I wouldn't recommend this field due to poor refs, high prices, and bad rental gear for renters.

Apocalypse PaintballOverall, I would say this is a pretty good field. Walkons have to buy their paint which is $100 dollar a case which is rediculous, but that is how they make their money.

Apocalypse Paintball4 story castle, actually trenches, swamps, pillboxes, small towns, this place CANNOT be beaten. Will be playing there more this year. Not much wrong with this place. Great people, and fantastic refs.

This is the field to go to in south central Wisconsin if you want to play with a lot of players! Apoc draws a ton of players in from all over the place, all experience levels, and all types of players from milsim to tournament. The fields are fantastic, and there's plenty of them. One of the big draws was always being able to bring your own paint (no Monsterball!) with a small additional fee. Somehow, I've always wound up missing the spaghetti days... I'm not sure how that happens! On the down side, like many fields, Apoc's once well stocked pro shop is gone. A few times, I've played there with refs who were only able to get us to the field, start the game, and take us back to staging. While it's easy to train a ref to do this sort of "reffing", and cheap to provide one ref for a group of 30 players, it's not really reffing. There's a lot of self checking that has to be done.
Unless the highway department is ripping up the Poynette exit (for Highway CS just off I39), access is about the easiest I've ever found for a paintball field, too.

First time i played this place it was awesome. I was new to paintball but the owner greeted me with a friendly "what'll it be today boss." They are a great field and an awesome staff. Since then i've been there over 20 times a year. The season pass is worth it . I hear people complain about the refs. I like most of them and it is a great place to play. The refs are always fair about things, And enjoy joining in when they are not working. There are often several friendly faces there and Yea the paint is expensive(byop is a good idea) I enjoy playing there due to the great quality of fields and fairness in play. Most of the regulars are great sports about it. But they can get into bragging wars easily. If you are new there just talk to a ref or any of the vetren players, there all be happy to help you. With any luck ill see you on the field. Just look for relief factor. Peace.
