Cons: Speedball field
It's a great spot in CT with a lot of friendly people. The prices are pretty reasonable and the owners are always trying to here your feedback . As far as the fields go, they have 3 up right now and a massive expanse of land in the back used for scenario games. The ones for regular use are pretty good if you like woodsball. as far as thier speedball field goes, not so much. its more like a modified course. They are working on it and progressing as they go tho!

Pros: VERY clean establishment
Cons: Inexperienced owner(s)
New field, in its 2nd season of operation.
The owner is not a player, but an enthusiast. They spent a lot of good money building a friendly, CLEAN, and inviting establishment.
Great location, right off the freeway and near many tourist attractions, so the kids who might otherwise be bored with sightseeing can escape close by for some real fun. Play paintball while Mom and Dad see the sights!
They actually pay their refs, who are led by actual players, so you wont find them off in the corner texting their friends while games are going on.
The downfall is they only cater to woodsball/ Airsoft players. What was originally slated for a Speedball field was abandoned and filled with wooden semi-permenant bunkers that only give woodsball players yet another field to play on. Disappointing considering the time taken to build the foundation for the speedball field.
The good news is , the owners are enthusiastic about building the business and bringing the players to the field. That means they are always willing to listen to suggestions, and make improvements.
Not the cheapest place to play in the state, but the price comes with a gauranteed good day at the field.

Pros: Great service, Nice refs
Cons: They are pretty new and don't have a lot of fields
I went to Fields of Fire in Mystic. First off, when you arrive there is a longish walk to the "office" which is a cut-out cargo box. They have a fill station and food there. The field is owned by a husband and wife. They are both very nice people. After I talked to some refs and other players I finally got into a game, had a good few shots, but then I got bonus balled by a little kid. I walked over to the "dead-box" and the ref handed me a little rag to wipe my mask. Nice gesture. After a day of play there, we mostly played on their sorry excuse for a speedball field. Not even a completely level space, but they are working on improving it. They do have a field with an airplane fuselage, which different. I liked seeing it, and it was a good choke point for the map, but I feel like I was going to get shot out of there. Overall I think that once their 50 or so acres are more developed, it will be the best in Connecticut.

Pros: Fun, friendly environment
Cons: Fields need some work, refs not very experienced
I went to Field of Fire last weekend and had a great time. The people who run the place are very friendly and encouraged us to give them feedback about our experience. It was very nice to see the owner so involved.

They have 3 fields - 1 rec ball, 1 woods, and 1 air-ball/wood bunker field. They have plans of a full turf air-ball field which I am very excited about. Played all 3 fields 2-3 times and each has some great features that make them all very fun.

Only con of the day is that the refs were a little inexperienced. They missed a few hits and were slow on calling players out. This might have been due to the fact is was 30 degrees out and they were cold, or that they just need to ref more.

So overall a great experience. It is a good time for experienced players and for those playing for their first time

Pros: Great refs, service and prices
Cons: Fields construction still in process
Fields of Fire is a fanatastic setup. Property is on 50 acres and so far they have only utilized about 1/10th of that. They have only just opened at this point and it is already my favorite field. Tom and his wife (the owners) are great people that truly care about each person's experience. They ask you how field setups are, how their refs are doing, and what you think can be done to improve.

Second, I have been to a few fields and it is quite clear to me that the refs here are better than any other field I know of. They are fair, they enforce paint checks, the are helpful and knowledgeable about all things paintball. They are very easy to approach with questions and are helpful with any equipment issues may have.

The only downside is that, at this point, the fields are so new that all the kinks haven't been worked out. Obviously the speedball field is not fully complete, as it is still dirt and wood pallets. They are trying to move to a wood chip field before going to turf and eventually having a tournament legal field.

These fields are a work-in-process, but the people make this the best field in CT to play at.

First time played there it was for big scenario game. Good old Yankees vs Red Sox. Yankees had 36 and Red Sox had 70. Was not fairest match but was a blast. We plaid on the 50 acre field which had unique game. Not about game but the field was hilly and had great bunkers. Never plaid on other fields but the Refs and owner were all asking how to make better and were good with people and communication. Would recommend. Opened September 2012
