Pros: Good variety Good staff
Cons: fields can be wet
A nice establishment in the northwest corner of ct with multiple fields for all variety of play. The staff is helpful and friendly. The officiating is always professional and fair. The rentals and the pro shop are located in the trailer. The prices are affordable and the rentals are good quality markers. Close by down the road is a neighborhood deli where lunch can be ordered in between games. Parking is almost never an issue and there is plenty of space for you and your friends to set up shop and gear up for some quality paintball.

The fields are awesome plain and simple. My personal favorite is the woods or as its called "The Forest of the Dead" where there are a ton of cool and effective bunkers. The flow of the games is great with plenty of good gun fights to be had. Scenario days make the woods an awesome field because you find yourself almost always finding new areas to hide and engage the other team.

If woods ball isn't quite your thing and you prefer something with an original layout then the close quarters field "Containment" is the field for you. The field is made for fast games and good play. Right off the break you're looking at you're opponent and its on. The bunkers are made out of stacked pallets that have been wrapped so you cant see through them. There are also configurations of barrels tires that only add to the variety bunkers.

Take the hill on the attack and defend map. A steep hill that is layered with wood chips and cedar bunkers stacked to give cover. At the top of the hill is a compound that is defended to the last man. Once up the hill the attacking team must break out of the woods and take the compound which makes for great rushes and good teamwork.

The PSP field is for the players who like the fast play and game of speed ball. Lots of bunkers with a giant X in the middle for the aggressive players who like to get right up in the action. The snake bunker always offers some good action and tons of excitement.

Modern Paintball Club The only thing better than the quality of the fields is the quality of the staff. I would highly recommend Modern Paintball to anyone looking for a new place to play paintball!

Pros: Awesome Fields, the community of club members
Cons: Hard to find with no sign, but worth searching for
This is a new field In northwest ct, it is continually growing so the fields are ever changing and new ones are being built. To properly review the field one has to commend the staff for their knowledge and the attention to detail, safety is always a priority to them, as well as mentioning the fields and the club itself. They have your standard air ball field which they can configure in all sorts of patterns as well as a woods ball field that can be split in two depending on game type and numbers and a small tight field that mimics a small shipping facility. The forest of the dead is their woods ball field it has many features including a board lined trench leading into a wooden bunker, a barrel depot and a cabin type fort that overlooks a land bridge. Sprinkled through the woods are all sorts of solid well built bunkers and nice wood chip paths, there are minimal rocks or snags to trip on I feel comfortable diving into most of these bunkers which is not something I can say for many other fields I have played at. This field is a real gem and even has some nice shade for summer play. The small containment field is a real fun and fast paced field built with blocks and pallets and barrels it looks like a small shipping yard and will really accelerate the learning curve for the scenario player who hasn't played speedbal, I am not a big speedball guy but I love this field. The field owners seem to be building a center cabin fortress type field up the hill that looks to be a lot of fun, so there is always something in the works to keep the players going. One of the best features about this field is that it is run as a club so there is a nice feeling of community amongst the club members. It is not out of the ordinary to see a club member reaching into their gear bag to help out another member wether it be just a tool or a whole setup, this kindness extends from the staging area to the field of play and onto it. The players here actually call themselves out and fun is always the main objective, there aren't any players who take it overly serious or any loudmouth jerks who are "too cool" for the new players. This is a great environment to start playing the sport of paintball or even if you have been playing for years it is a fun club with great members who are always looking forward to meet new faces, with which to share a shoot out with!

Pros: Great Fields and Customer Service
Cons: Recently opened. More fields to come
This is a recently opened field in the northwest corner of CT, and one of the only places to play in the area. Pound for pound, it's also one of the best places to play in the Northeast US.

Customer service is where it starts. After playing at many places across the Northeast in the past year, I'm so happy to consider Modern Paintball Club my home field. It's run by nice people that go out of their way to see that you have a good time. Their refs are certified and they'll actually respond to a paint check. They'll also help out the rookies whether it be suggesting tactics or troubleshooting equipment. Equally important, they run a safe facility and see to the strict enforcement of chrono, goggle, and barrel sock rules.

Their fields are where they really shine, and at this point they have 4 distinct playing areas with a 5th that will be ready soon (like I said earlier, this is a new facility). One is an old school wooded area that I won't say much about mostly cause it's not really my style. They also have a PSP field (2010 I think), which I also don't need to say much about. Between the other two fields, Containment and Forest of the Dead, I'd be hard pressed to choose a favorite.

Containment is small and fast paced, resembling a symmetric shipping yard. From the opening whistle you will be in range of the opposition requiring you to keep your gun up and as well as your wits under heavy fire. This field has made me a far more composed and all around better paintball player.

Forest of the Dead is arguably the best wooded area I've ever played. It is asymmetric but plays roughly equally on both sides. One side has a panel lined trench that feeds into a strongpoint near the middle of the field while the opposing team will have two strongpoints overlooking a bridge that crosses a seasonal stream forcing a natural bottleneck. Wooded bunkers and oil drums fill out the area and the flanks are composed of a long and rather unique snake on one side, and some very tall grass on the other for the stealthily minded. One of the most impressive things about this area is how well it supports different game types (elimination, flag, bomb, briefcase, attack/defend, you name it...), and it can actually be split into multiple smaller fields if needed.

I've always had fun playing here, and would highly recommend Modern Paintball Club to anyone who loves the game. You won't be disappointed with the fields, and this is a growing facility that is only getting better each year.
