Best scenario field ever! Period!

This is my home field and I thoroughly enjoy playing there.
It as being 90+ acres of down home friendly woodsball. On recreational play days the field draws a good crowd and Splatbrothers puts on some sort of an event or game every month for players to enjoy.

The parks forte' is scenario ball. The field puts on some great scenario games, both 8hr and 24hr throughout the year and almost every month. The themes of the games vary but does a wonderful job of breaking scenario ball down for new players while giving scenario vets a fun day of scenario ball. The games contain the usual roles and missions often with some great added twists and props. For 2010 they are doing "Real American War". For the scenario games the field has dropped the price of paint by $10 for everyone. House Grade paint is now $49 during events and discounts are given if you buy in bulk during prereg.

The results of all this scenario ball is that Splatbrothers is host and home to some of the best scenario teams in the mid Atlantic area such as Assault & Battery, SoVa, OFU, Social Hazard, South Side Killaz, Affliction, and many more. It has become a literal training ground for scenario teams.

The refs are solid. They have a great work ethic, positive attitude, and really seem to love the game. Anytime you call for a a ref you can nearly expect one to be around the corner on their way.

Prices at the Snack Shack are fair, and it's a quick cheap feed when you need some grub.

Splatbrothers has the some of the best owner operators in the business. If you have an issue the owners have no problem listening to what you have to say and doing their best to make it right. The field also offers a "BUY BACK" on paint. If you have unopened bags or cases of paint you can return it for a voucher to use on another day. This way you know you will have fresh paint when you come back. Quite innovative and really cuts down on that mystery staining off field paint.

Check it out. You won't be dissapointed.

I play here once a month if not twice a month all year round. The staff is very friendly and refs are proactive during game play. The price for a case of marbalizers is $60. I think if you have your own gear its just $15 all day air and play. They have a membership program that I highly recommend, it has three levels bronze ($199) silver ($249) and gold ($299)I have the gold and it last a year and gives me $20 off cases of paint* air and field rights for the year* 10% off everything other than food, and a whole lot more! It pays for its self on the cases of paint. that being said The field has a great proshop and serves food! Splatbrothers also host a big game once a month and two 36 hour senerio events a year. The 36hour events provide camping and personal porta poties, the camping is free and the portas are I think $70 for the weekend. Now I dont know about splatbrothers pre 2012 because I just got in to the sport after a 10 year break but some of the parks in my area are owned buy the same guy, and he has put a lot in to them, splatbros being one of them. I think that this is a great park and has great staff and even better owner and for the 2014 season I would expect anyone who goes here to have nothing less than a great time!

Not worth the drive, middle of BFE.

Staff has bias with some regulars and takes side without being objective.

Prices are too high.

Forts are rickety and thrown together with flimsy non-salt treated lumber that buckles and warps...... unsafe towers and so forth.
Saw exposed rusted metal in a concrete-laden bunker that was not safe at all.

Don't waste your time !

If you're tired of small fields where you can easily see the other team's base from your own, then you HAVE to visit Splatbrothers!!!!

Splatbrothers is the largest and longest operating fields in all of Virginia. It has been in business for over 17 years and hosts 14 themed playing fields, on over 92 acres (80+ acres of that being ACTUAL woods). There is enough space for players to use every type of team or individual tactics they can think of including cleared road-ways for tanks.

Scattered among the trees you will find wide variety of structures that become key focal points for missions during their monthly 8hr Scenarios, known as their "Real American War" (R.A.W.) Series, and the 2 26hr Scenario Events they hold in the Spring and Fall each year.

As you can tell, the park focuses on Scenario and Woodsball, but there are also plenty of opportunities and open areas for speedball types to run and gun alongside their camouflaged teammates. For those who still believe that speedballers and woodsballers can't exist on one field, I guarantee you haven't attended one of Splatbrothers' Events. This phenomenon not only occurs every month, the result is HIGH-PACED, IN-YOUR-FACE woodsball that can't be beat for the price!!!

Speaking of price, Splatbrothers has lowered their cost of field-paint for 2010 and offers even greater savings with "multiple-case discounts" if a team pre-registers prior to the games. To help players even further, you can save an additional $5 if you pre-register for their monthly games via their website. On top of all that, they have a Buy-Back program in which you can exchange your unopened bags/cases of paint for Vouchers towards fresh paint at future events. No more lugging 2 bags of paint around, hoping that it survives until the next game. Simply turn it in at the field and receive your vouchers for the next event.

Some of the other amenities that make this field special are:
- Tippmann 98 and Smart Parts Vibe rentals
- 3000psi and 4500psi air fills
- On-site Pro-shop carries almost everything you "want", and almost everything you "forgot"
- The Splatbrothers Snak Shak serves hot food and cold beverages, at reasonable prices
- Highly trained Reff crew that continually monitors play throughout the park
- PA system with multiple speakers
- Covered Staging area
- Lighted Staging area
- Large parking area
- FREE Camping
- Local Competitive teams that will keep you on your toes and give you a fair and decent fight

Lastly, "THE Splatbrothers" are some of the most customer-oriented owner operators in the business. If you have an issue don't hesitate to bring it to their attention as they continually strive to make Splatbrothers the most enjoyable paintball experience you will have in Virginia.

If this review brings you to Splatbrothers, make sure to find one of the team leaders from Assault & Battery ("The House Band") and tell them you decided to give Splatbrothers a try because you read this review on PBNation... they'll give you an A&B Sticker for your efforts!!

This is my home field and I thoroughly enjoy playing the field.
Its advertised as being 90+ acres, but actual playing field it is much less (or it appears to be). On rec days the field seems to always have a good turn out, almost putting on some sort of an event each month for rec players. The field puts on some great scenario games, both 8hr and 24hr. The themes of the games seem to change each year, in my opinion this keeps the games fresh. You don't have the same roles and missions. For 2010 they are doing "Real American War". For the scenario games the field has dropped the price of paint by $10 for everyone. House Grade paint is now $49 during events. The refs are solid. They have a great attitude both during events and random weekends. Anytime you call for a a ref you can nearly expect one to be around the corner on their way. If I'm not mistaking there are 12-14 fields. All of which are different in their own respect and each fun to play. Prices at the Snack Shack are reasonable, I can say they don't try and gouge you when you just want a drink or a quick eat. If you have an issue the owners have no problem listening to what you have to say and doing their best to fix it. The field also offers a "BUY BACK" on paint. If you have unopened bags or cases of paint you can return it for a voucher to use on another day. This way you know you will have fresh paint when you come back.

Only gripes I would have with the field are; During event games there are times when a 45k fill isn't available for a couple hours. When this happens you find yourself in line more often for air. The field isn't very consistent with what is advertised on the site and then offered at the field.
Example: Shoot A SplatBrother Day (rec day). Advertised that you will have the oppurtunity to shoot a SplatBrother and win free admission, paint, and/or other prizes. There was none of this. Instead it was a giant cluster, 5 refs vs 35 walkons, and no prizes given out. Waste of paint, in my opinion.

Where to start.... worst experience ever. $70 for marbelizer? Are you kidding me? The paint doesn't fly straight and maybe 1 out of 10 balls that actually hit me broke. That's bs. I don't want to have to shoot someone 10 times before I get a bust on them. I tried all three grades of paint and they all sucked. And did I mention their marbilizer is $70!?!?!? Haven't been there on a regular day but I went to one of their events and it was the gayest day of Paintball ever. A little gator dressed up and tor suppose to pretend its a tank and can't get within 20 feet of it while the motor is running.... all I wanted to do was run up and jerk the two needs out of the tank shoot a whole Hopper at each and beat the crap out of them and the refs guarding them. Half of the day was spent trying to find someone to shoot at. Waaaay too big when all the fields are combined into one. Then they require you to watch the gayest 15 minute movie and then listen to this power abusing queer talk for another 5 minutes. Then I have to chrono before the day starts and everytime I go bak onto the field. And my dm11 and my etek 3 r supposedly off 10-30 fps every time I chrono. And your not allowed to adjust the fps at the chrono where your stepping onto the field. If you test hott there then you gotta go back to the original station to make adjustments. The rules are rediculous here. And all I kept hearing from the rentals were how they couldn't see. Their masks were fogging up. I mean for $70 a case they should be able to supply everyone with i4's or at the very least have some anti fogging spray to help out for 10 minutes... then my cousin pulls his mask about a inch from his face, not even off his face or revealing anything, just giving himself some breathing space and a ref freaks out Talkin about he broke the seal. Splat brothers is completely wack. I met some amazing players out there though. That was the only thing good that came out of a day at Splat brothers. I mean Damn man... $70 for paint that doesn't break or fly straight....

PROS the fields are really nicely laid out the guy at the pro shop is helpful to beginners the is also food at the field

CONS the paint they use is marbelizer normally marbilizer is great paint but there paint seems 5 years old it never breaks and its 70 dollars for 5 year old paint. Another problem is the refs I was there at a big game and the ref was playing on his phone the whole time. I was hearing complaints about the rental mask the one time i saw one player whose mask was fully covered with condensation when you pay 70 dollars for paint they should be renting everybody dye i4's. another problem is there website it is so misleading they say the have air ball fields witch they don't a was checking out they rental packages because I was curios about pricing it said they have upgraded rentals which are invert minis i later asked the owner of the field his response was invert minis are not renal markers.

Wow, I just wrote up a great review and accidentally x'd out of it. The second run is never as good as the first but the field is worth it enough to make me try again..

This is a fantastic field! I just played it for the first time last weekend and was blown away. It's all woodsball with permanent structures. They have 10-12 fields (I don't know exactly because we didn't play them all). All were laid out great so one side didn't have an overwhelming advantage (except one..cheeseburger hill...I hated that one).

This is a rental friendly field. They do a few deal of the day site deals like groupon and get a good crowd. There were probably 40-50 rental players out last Sunday and I heard that there were about 90 players (mixed) on Saturday. Those that brought their own guns all tuned down so that the days were fun and no one got lit up (except me on that cheeseburger hill...)

Spatbrothers is not a field where they do the standard "you're hit you're out" . The game play was very mixed. We played Domination, VIP and Push. These were 5 minute games ( that's what they said but they seemed longer because there was so much going on). If you got hit you went back to your spawn point and got back in the game.

The staff was awesome. The field manager made a point to come over to me at the end of the day. I think his name is Travis but I am not 100%. I am so bad with names even though I specifically asked him... We talked and he asked if I would make it out to their big game the following weekend (Dye Hard). Unfortunately I can't make it but I would.. He then gave me tips on how I can lower the cost of the field fee and paint (pre register for big games and any old weekend).

The staff itself, besides the manager was nothing short of perfect. They answered every question that the rental players had with professionalism. Questions that seemed intuitive (like a mother asking about her little boy's safety didn't even receive a roll of the eyes. Even players like myself that are somewhere between a rec ball player and well... a rec ball player who had all their equipment were greeted and engaged throughout the day.

To address another comment about safety. I did notice that there were some exposed rebar and even rusty barbed wire in the Towers field but that by no means lowered my perception of the place. This is something that should be addressed by the staff (note - I actually spoke to the manager about this and he told me the barbed wire is actually made of leather. He told me the locations where it was and that coincided with what I saw). However on the other side of it, these guys (and girls - I cant forget about shorty ref) have safety as their main concern. I broke the seal on my mask to wipe under it and was immediately pointed out to the rest of the group, but was done in a very professional manner that didn't make me feel like a tool.

A case of Marbalizers was $63 at this field ( dont think about bringing outside paint they will find out if you are using someone else's paint.) They have their own paint fill.

The manager did tell me to register online and that will give me $5 off the field fee and $10 off the paint. I don't see where to get this info online, but the card which allows you on the field has the same deal on it so if you are a repeat customer and keep that card you can have a great day for a bit less money (Note - I was just informed today that there is a season pass which eliminates the field fee and takes $20 a case of paint.. seriously considering that one).

If you have played here before in the past and had a bad experience. I very much suggest that you try them again. It's a new staff and they are working hard for the business.
