Played here since I was in high school. Really like the place and the owner Susie. They've always treated me well and I've always had a good time. Wish the air ball was up more consistently and the refs were more professional and mature towards the walk-on crowd. All in all I would recommend this place to friends and always enjoy playing there.

I played here last month for the first time and was pretty disappointed. The fields were extremely close together and not well maintained at all. The staff isn't very helpful and the refs(14 year olds) didn't do anything other than tell you to put a barrel condom on. They didn't ref the games at all. The walk-on games were huge(15v15 at least) and the games were very unorganized. I slid into the snake and sliced my hand open on some gravel. The fort was closed down because of people shooting the houses behind the field. If you're looking for a place to play in the DFW area, look elsewhere.

I went to Fort Paintball for the first time this past weekend. I was lured there by the mere fact they are the only field left in my area that is BYOP.

The staging area is OK. There are only a few tables which are covered. The weather was nice this past weekend, but I can't imagine playing here if it was even remotely warm outside.

They do have a nice airball field. I wasn't able to play it beacuse they were hosting a tournament. The fort field was fun, but I was only able to play it twice (more on this in a minute). The other fields were also fun and had a nice layout. My only problem is they were all pretty much the same. Open fields with bunkers. There was not much variance other than the materials used to create the bunkers. Pretty much if you've played 1 you've played them all.

I really don't think the refs were that great. They did perfom paintchecks and were obviously knowledgeable. My problem was with their abilty to organize teams and breif new players on the rules. Brand new players were not briefed on "surrender" how to call yourself out w/o getting shot up. They also pretty much let the players make thier own teams. IMO this is not a good idea when you have 6-10 experienced players with their own equipment playing against new people with rental gear.

There also were not enough refs at the field to handle all the walk-ons. There was essentially one group. Poor newbs were playing with expereinced players and getting pummeled. It go so bad that the new walk-ons refused to play anymore and asked a party with a reservation if they could join up with them. So now... the rest of the day was left to playing 3v3 or 4v4 games on large fields because we lost most of our players.

So later in the day another group of new walk on players join us. After 1 game they also refuse to play. The experienced players ended up reffing themselves until a kid who was applying for a job took over the inexperienced players and the experienced guys got another ref.

Now for the main reason I will NEVER play at Fort Paintball again...

I caught someone stealing out of my bag. YES... I said it. I watched a guy (who wasn't sitting at our table) set his gun down at the table right in front of my stuff. I was about 15 - 20 feet away. He fiddled with his gun for 30 seconds all the time eye balling my bag. He reached in, grabbed a pod and walked away stuffing the pod in his pocket. I freaked out. Called the guy a theif etc. The worst part is it was a dad who was there with his kids. I told the owner and expained everything I saw. I fully expected the guy to get the boot. NOTHING HAPPENED.

I refuse to play at a place that does not protect its honest paying customers.

yes there are some... drawbacks. sometimes theyre understaffed, yes. sometimes the airball field isnt available for play. there are even some bigger issues that pop up every once in a while, but for the most part you will be able to play longer on the cash you brought that you would anywhere else.

its sad to think that my favorite field field (the fort) cant be played on because of the new houses going in so close to the field "being shot" but ill continue going to fort.

there is a chrono station. you have to ask for the chrono because people kept stealing the nice one they had.

and they do take cards.

Cons: Some refs are unprefessional
I've been to Fort Paintball a few times and it is a great place to play with a wide selection of fields from scenario to static speedball to turf airball. It is one of my favorite fields to go to. The only complaint I have is that one visit made a lot of the player on my team pretty angry because the refs that were with our group were very unprofessional and made for some unfair and unpleasant games. As a business manager, if it would have been my employee, he would have probably lost his job but that was only on one occasion so it hasn't ruined the feilds reputation in my eyes.

Pros: my OG field, susie
Cons: kids complaining
I've been playing at this field for over 6 years. Used to be the place to play back in the Texas Select days and even before that when that xball field was nice and the ground had grass and all that good stuff. Unfortunately the ground is very loose and has a lot of holes and rocks in it now. It does have netting on one side and lights for night ball. Potential here is great, however the field is rarely set up and this causes most talent not to show up. They did just get a brand new 2012 xball field though, however the field that they put it on sucks and it's a give and take.

Bottom line my only advice to you if you want to play some good games of paintball here: make sure there are an adequate amount of people going and make sure you don't get tetanus.

Pros: BYOP, Cost
Cons: Fields Are Too Close, Can't Use The Big Field
I really can't complain much about this place, the price is low so you can't expect the best quality. It's very close to where I live and I found a great Groupon special to come try it out. The rental equipment are basic tippmann custom 98s that have seen their better days and the masks are just horrible. I'm not expecting great rental equipment by any means, but it did get me to invest in my own equipment so I could have a little better experience up there.

The walk on games can vary a lot depending on the # of players out there at a given moment but I do know there were a couple times we were ready to play and had to wait like 30 minutes to get a ref to get a game together.

The fields are ok, nothing outstanding like some of the other places I've played but they allow you to use your own paint which makes the experience more enjoyable if you're not having to shell out tons of cash on field paint. The fields are a little close but aren't horrible. The biggest field they don't even use anymore which imo sucks. Their other bigger field is fun from time to time, just not more than a 10v10 because it just becomes a giant stalemate. My personal favorite was their airball field which has a nice turf on it (though they should try cleaning up the paint from time to time because it's completely littered with paintballs).

Overall, it's local for me so that helps me rate this place higher (if I wasn't local I likely would play elsewhere). I really like being able to bring my own paint because it allows more people to come try the sport out without having to shell out so much on field paint. The fields are average and you can still have a great experience with paintball. Would like to see the games speed up a bit so theres no long wait times like I've witnessed from time to time.
