Pev's Paintball ParkGreat job on existing fields and they are adding new fields to what they have already. Play is a FULL DAY especially with no designated lunch. You will be tired when done.

Played here over 20 times. The turf fields are amazing and very well taken care of. Played the rec fields a few times and they were a lot of fun. They put a lot of time into developing these fields and it shows. They have a pro shop and food on site so its very convenient. Not a lot of teams for team practice but the quality of the field is unmatched in the MD/VA/DC area.

For a six year period, after the closure of their woodsball field in Woodbridge, Pevs was aligned strategically with AG Paintball games in Leesburg. After several years of legal wrangling with the county and local residents, Pevs opened their Aldie field in 2008.
It boasts a netted, professional style complex capable of holding six tournament style games at the same time. Two of these fields are professional grade astroturf and the other four are grass. The turf fields are tops in the industry and the Pevs complex has been successfully utilized by the NPPL for their end of summer "DC Challenge" event for the past three years. Each field has a dedicated air-fill station to ensure players don't have to run back and forth from the registration area. These fields are available weekly for walk-on play, for team practices and for monthly tournaments. The success of national events at Pev's reinforces the fact that these fields are a jewel of the NoVA paintball scene.
Very few fields in the nation have the infrastructure that Pevs has. Pevs also sports the PTS series, a monthly tournament for participants of varying skill levels.
In addition to the quality of the tournament fields, Pevs has indoor restroom facilities, a recreational lounge area for parents with internet access, Cable TV and leather sofas. They have a fully stocked pro-shop with parts, gear, accessories, on staff techs and an assortment of paint. They also have a covered staging area for registration, air fills, and a vending area where they sell Chick-Fil-A sandwiches, Pizza, Nachos, Ice Cream, Soft Drinks and other amenitities. They also have several dozen picnic tables for birthday parties, staging, eating lunch, etc. Their parking area is just off the main road and while most of the lot is gravel, there are spaces near the main building on asphalt. Paved handicap spaces are also available.
The rec ball fields are an innovative mix of fields that run the gamut of paintball. One negative is the distinct lack of trees that define a true woodsball experience, however the scenario/concept fields are unique. They have a fort field that can be played in several different ways (Attack-Attack, Attack-Defend, etc.) and in several configurations. It enables players to attack and win with a variety of strategies that will entice woodsballers, scenario players and tournament ballers alike. The Town field is a mix of blind angles, buildings, and props for a true urban play experience. They have several other fields that offer a mix of caves and "rocks", to a logyard field, a wastelands field with logs, hay bales and other obstacles. The variety of the play and the assorted configurations make for challenging game play by players of all experience levels, backgrounds and equipment types.
Pevs refs are superior to many of the fields I've played at over the years. They're encouraged to be active during game play and hop into the action to make the tough calls. The field staff makes sure the refs are engaged and keep the walk-on play moving. Complaints about the field, reffing, service are taken seriously and addressed promptly. The group size for walk-on play is also kept to a minimum with groups divided no larger than 20 v 20 (40 players total). This ensures an engaging experience and minimizes downtime.
Unfortunately, with quality comes cost. The field fee for players with their own gear is $29, though there are frequent discounts that reduce this cost making it affordable to players of varying finances. Pevs is a Field Paint Only facility and cases can cost from $45-70 at the store. Paint bought at the field can run $79 or more a case. There are frequent price breaks for special events (tournaments, team practices, etc.). Paint checks are conducted frequently by the staff to ensure that Pevs paint is being utilized by the players. The paint is a high grade shell and fill based on the season. They're currently using Marballizer which shoots and marks well.
Pevs is the consummate field. It has a mix of fields for all types of players and all skill levels. The staff, infrastructure, fields and infrastructure is world-class. It only gets better as they add new fields to the mix.

Pev's Paintball ParkYeah pevs is more expensive, but they also have alot better staff and they maintain their fields much better than most places. It would be hard to find nicer turf in the Mid-A!!!

Pev's Paintball ParkGreat time had, loved the turfed fields. Paint was old and dimpled, and thought it was a little pricey, but can understand it with the quality of the fields.

Let me start with the Pro.
Staging:
Phenomenal! Benches, shade, vending machines, bathrooms, food (pricey), an observation deck, huge pro-shop (pricey) and all very close to the fields.
Turf:
I played on the turf field predominantly when I was there, but the rec fields were super fun. Very clean and well put together airball arena with nice bunkers. They even had 4.5k fill stations just outside the netting. Very convenient.
Cons.
Refs!
Unfortunately, they were the heart of the problem in my opinion.
A ref's first job is to ensure the safety of all players.
I saw refs consistently:
-Letting people off the field without barrel covers
-Letting first-time players operate the fill stations (I intercepted and taught a few how to fill, but couldn't always be there)
-Letting the "entitled" advanced walk-ons onto the field with masks off (also leading to first-timers mimicking them)
-Stacking teams so that first-timers would be up against the advanced walk-ons
Also, the refs were, at best, lackluster in their efforts to get games moving and, even after having been asked, very slow at refilling some badly deflated bunkers.
I don't want to say age played a factor, because I have seen many younger refs run things very smoothly and safely, but these kids were very young and that did not help matters.
Ice water is distributed throughout the park, which would have been a nice perk but none was ever brought to the turf field, even after asking several refs.
Prices were standard on entry and quite high on paint but hey, its Northern Virginia.
All of this, combined with a small and relatively less experienced playing crowd, would have added up to a VERY overpriced experience if I wasn't lucky enough to have a friend with a free play pass and some extra paint.
With such a nice field, Pev's really needs to invest in its staff to get the field to live up to its truly stellar potential.
I could talk about the less experienced advanced walk-ons I referenced but I will leave it at this (note: not all acted entitled but most):
Pev's players, you are hereby put on notice.
With such stellar facilities at your disposal, I expected better. Time to sack up boys.

I have been a customer and player at Pevs since 1999. I had always enjoyed going to the old Woodbridge field back in the day. The Aldie field is a whole new experience with its ups and downs. The facilities are among the best I have seen for paintball. Outstanding turf fields available for walkons, but the prices are outrageous. I understand theyre trying to run a business, but they know they could come down on the prices a bit. The majority of the staff that I have dealt with over the years (some still work at Pevs still) makes Pevs stand out when it comes to customer service and coming to the field. However, since about last summer there has been an abundance of complacent kids with attitudes reffing the fields. I will not frequent Pevs as much as I used to until this is resolved.

So I decided to try Pev's for the first time. Great service, and the refs were all safety conscientious. I have been to a lot of fields where there refs are very laid back and don't care. But Pev's is definitely first rate. Not to big on the prices for everything; paint especially. The paint was severely dimpled (for $60+) I thought they could do better.
Despite that, the day was awesome. Would really like to go back again if I have the time.
