The refs are very knowledgeable and have a genuine love for the sport.

The variety of fields are very fun and comfortable for any group size

I love this park for a lot of reasons. First off, when a walk-on group gets too large, they split it up so that you never have to charge into 50 hostile players all trying to blast you. They have beginner and advanced groups so I'm not getting shot in the back by some kid, and they make sure to get in plenty of games.

The refs are competent, and know what they are doing. There is a friendly atmosphere to most of the players there, the fileds are awesome, and they make improvements all the time to them to keep it fresh. It's cheaper than most places to go and you can bring your own paint. On top of the already low prices they do weekly specials and stuff on their website which is kind of cool. You do need to visit there to know the rates though, sometimes they forget to give you the discount unless you remind them.

If there's one complaint i have about the field it's that right now the airball park in back is undergoing a complete overhaul and I have to wait for it to reopen. Overall i guess it aint so bad, cause when it's up it will be cool. i talked to one of the refs and he said they're turfing three different fields.

New update: The new Airball fields are in and they are awesome! Right now they have two fully turfed fields with brand new bunkers. The turf is brand new too, not old football turf that's all screwed up. The place is under new management now, and they changed the name from the compound to the complex. (Still jungle Island but the airball fields are separate). Anyway, it already had a nice picnic table area that's shaded (they used to have misters but not sure if they still do - we didn't need them last week). Parking is right next to the filed so its easy to lock up gear you're not using and still have quick access to it. There's an air station dedicated to speed ballers so theres never any lines, this place is AWESOME!

Cons: Gets sooooo hot in the Summer
Jungle Island has a good variety of scenario fields, which you get to see quite often due to the amount of games you get in during the day. Refs are on top of everything during games.
The Compound is the airball fields, which they can have upto 3 or 4 up at a time depending on how busy they are. They have regulation size bunkers which are in decent shape, but could be a bit more maintained. (Some leak) The fields are on dirt, but it's leveled out and the bunkers are staked properly. Some days the fields may need a little cleaning, but thats mainly on days where there is alot of scrimming going on.
All in all, they have good customer service, great scenario fields, and good airball fields.

Pros: Refs/Staff, Fields
Cons: Location, Mountain Fields
I've been paintballing for almost 10 years, and the first field I ever played at was Tombstone. Sometimes I drift off and think about how I wish it was still around but Jungle Island is a pretty good replacement. The Refs are all very helpful and nice, they have a very different attitude then other fields. It's easy to strike up a conversation with them and you can tell they enjoy their jobs. The fields are absolutely top notch, from design to upkeep, the only gripe I have is the Mountain fields. Which ever team starts at the top has a massive advantage over the other team starting at the bottom. Besides this their fields are extremely enjoyable, Jungle has been my favorite field for years and hopefully more to come.

Pros: Fun people, good refs, and awesome snack bar.
Cons: One really horrible map
I played here for my first time after playing at Camp Pendleton and Velocity Paintball a lot. When you arrive there, there are some old military vehicles and what not which sets a fun atmosphere.

The people at the registration desk could be a little more cheerful but hey, they did their jobs.

The fields are REALLY nice and well laid out with a lot of possible things you could do in one scenario. They have a mountain type map with scattered bunkers and large rocks which is great for flanks and bunkering. Another good field is one called Somalia where there are exploded cars and large trenches scattered throughout. Complete with motor positions, buses, plane bodies, and broken buildings. There was, however, a horrible map that is basically a large series of deep trenches with heavy brush. The reason why this is so bad is because 9 times out of 10 the rental players will get over zealous and shoot you in the back thinking you're the enemy. Granted though that it is EXTREMELY difficult to figure out who is who in there and you'll find yourself yelling "BAND OR NO BAND" at every person you see, only to get shot.

The people, at least the ones I played with, were super friendly as most paintball players can be, and everyone really enjoys themselves!

My only real 2 complaints was the map and when I went to go refill air for my friend, he hadn't gotten the band around his tank that said he was allowed all day air, and still had a Camp Pendleton tag around his tank, the girl nearly threw us out saying we were trying to steal from them even after we showed her the receipt that said he had purchased all day air.

Fun field though. Highly recommend you try it out! They have Domino's Pizza in the snack bar
