bad fields, poor service, real players not welcome
im not going to lie i am probably one of the better players to ever play regularly at devo, and to come back and see this field is disappointing. it could be an awesome field, when i say that i mean it could host real tournys. but instead its just a little skidmark on a few acres outside of bemidji mn.
In the shop you will find someone willing to sell you stuff, thats it, dont expect to have someone talk to you about how awesome this sport is, and if you are a real baller dont expect to hold a conversation as whoevers there will have a lot less knowledge then you. on the field you will maybe find a reff, pretty sure the reffs are just open play kids who want deals or something through the store. i dont really expect psp certifications but as a reff at a more successful field it pains me to shoot the same person three times and have to tell them myself they are out, were talking obvious hits btw, by no means are these guys capable of paint checks. my last and final visit to the field i was on my way out on to the field to test a gun, i was told i couldnt go on the field and reff had no idea why (his words).
Quality of fields:
well, i love throwing down on hyperpipe for a grind but come on, this place has massive cracks in every single bunker, as the only speedball field at this place (yeah hay is not speedball chief) i would like to see an attempt at making a real field, but no. woodsball is cool in the early spring and fall but otherwise is overgrown. they have a cabin, but that is seriously it, a cabin and a couple trees. otherwise they have some other thrown together field not worth mentioning.
last time i played i honestly thought about how much money i wasted the whole time. it wasnt fun at all except for a tolerable hyperpipe game to end the day. im sorry but paintball is five stars worth of fun no matter where you are, except here, if i am not having fun playing paintball you deserve 1 star, im being generous.
field/entry fee goes straight to the owners pocket, because its certainly not going into the field. as far as paint be ready to pay about 60$ a case for basic training. i know places like Crossfire Paintball who sell their custom field paint for 55$ a case so yeah its a bit of a ripoff. the owner even said at the "church challenge" that he didnt make money that day.. hmm 40sum people paying atleast 10$ for entry and about 60$ a case for basic training, and i think 4 reffs? come one thats cheap labor, and selling paint for 60$ that i can get for 30$ from a shop? come on thats ATLEAST 30$ profit a case. dont bull**** me you made bank, thats kind of ****ty dont you think? being dishonest to a bunch of youth groups? pff nice.
have your own gear, go play in your backyard. want to play speedball? go play here a few times untill you become too pissed off to play anymore just like everyother respectable player that ever played here.
and as far as chodecos review goes he obviously hasnt been to every field in the state, fields like vintage, mnpro, and air assault put this field to shame, those are some of the best fields in the midwest, so yes they are way better, i mean cmon bro vintage is run by Aaron tholey, a professional player, i highly doubt he runs his field worse than nate.
and these bad reviews come from successful players who watched this field fall apart. and hay is speedball, jesus.. .. btw they have rental tippmanns yes but for rental goggles goodluck seeing after 5 min, alot of fields have thermal rentals. i already addressed the fields/prices above. as far as i know i had maybe two 45 fills in 6 years so no just be quiet.
so i guess you can take this kids word who probably isnt even registered on appa, or take the 3 "haters" words who have won tournies and were regulars at devotion when it didnt suck. not to mention our combined feedback of about 200, combined post count around 10,000 and annual supporting members, also if you want well throw up our appa ids and you can check out our tourny wins, but whatever you obviously know way more than us.. peace
This is Jordan. once a regular at this field never to return again.

Devotion paintball is a field/store/pro-shop located just a mile outside of town. The pro-shop looks nice and clean from the outside and netting surrounds all the critical area's of the field to keep things safe. The staff can be friendly but generally knows little about the sport for anything more then casual play. For your average party of rental group this is a place to consider as really, this is what this place does and only does.
Pros - Close to town, 5 fields (technically), HP fills (technically), large selection of paint, nice pro-shop, indoor plumbing.
Cons - Most of the fields are in disarray. IF the supair is aired up, or the hyperfield is set up they are usually set up in a manner thats disorganized at best and almost unplayable to anyone besides a rental player. For anyone explecting to pay a open play fee and get your money's worth you might be mistaken. Several times this year paying customers were told if they wanted to play on Supair they have to air it up themselves. The woodsball fields can be fun, but generally become overrun and to thick to even play by the first part of the warm playing season. This field has tons of potential but has yet to be taken to that leverl. If you like to pay a walk on fee and wait for to play on disorganized fields with slow turn-around then this is for you. Service on anything more then a tippman and your better sending it in yourself. The advertised 4500psi fills is also incorrect. While you CAN get them at times generally your only able to get 3000psi for walk on play if your lucky.

It depends who you are, its hard when the owner has "favorites" and tends to them more than the new customers who have never played and takes advantage of them saying he doesnt make money off them selling basic paint for $55/case when you can get the same stuff for $30 a case elsewhere. It can be alright if your the only one in the shop, if not, Dont bother.
Quality of Fields
Piss poor. If I could rate it ZERO stars, I would. Id rather play on a dairy farm. Fields are in complete dissarray. Most of them unorganized and filthy. Its not a premier or even a halfway quality. Woodsball is falling apart which sucks because the newer players love the woods so thats a big downfall. The speedball course is almost non existant. There is a lame hyperpipe course which isnt staked down properly and you can shoot between all the cracks. There is a haybail course thing, which isn't worth being called a field.
Fun / Experience
If your new give it a go, then after you try it, go to almost ANY other field in Minnesota and you will see why this review is bad along with the other reviews on this field, other than the other review from one of the ref's or the field owner himself. Take it from the 3 people on here with a combined 15k in posts, 200+ feedback, and no reason to bash a field, that this field truly does suck.
There isnt a value, if your new try it, if your looking for anything other than a random woods to run around then go to a real field, spend the extra 30$ in gas and make it worth your while to play. Its hard for new players but when the owner says "I dont make money off any of you today", its complete Bull****, selling the lowest grade paint possible for $55/case where you can get it for $35/case elsewhere and entry fee is around 15$...I'd say its a joke. Dont rip off local YOUTH groups.
*Spend your money elsewhere and play at a real field.
My name is Kyle, once a regular player, never to play here again
