Pros: Speedball field, variety of players.
Cons: No shop.
Fort Adobe Paintball (FAP) is the most competitive field in Arizona right now. They have two excellent speedball fields, and a few woods/urban setups as well. Sunday is team practice day, and both speedball fields are open. The speed fields are set on turf with current bunkers. The setups are great sometimes, iffy others. I've never played the woods fields, but they seem to combine the desert terrain of the Phoenix area and an urban setup with plywood buildings. The site has two self fill air stations, and have always been able to hit at least 3k PSI whenever I've been there, and getting a full 4500 fill is the norm. The field paint comes in two flavors, cheap and average. The cheap paint is often dimpled, as is common is budget paint, but feeds reliably. The average paint is better, my main complaint with it is the shell oil. I'm a fan of dry paint, but whatever.

The staff on-field is pretty good, getting games run in a timely manner and attending to bunkers that start to deflate. The admin staff is ok, no real impressions either way. Not super friendly or anything, but they get the job done. A lot of local teams practice here, including Scottsdale Elevation, and several others.

It would be nice to see a shop on-site, especially since this field is owned by one of the bigger stores in Phoenix, which isn't open Sunday! (Arizona Paintball Depot)

TL;DR: Great fields, good staff, best speedball in Arizona.

Fort Adobe Paintball Complex I'll start by saying: I'm a former employee, and APD loyal customer. This field is in my opinion the best in Arizona. I'll also say that no paintball field is perfect. Not in Arizona, anyways....

Cons: Strong winds sometimes

This field is in my opinion the best in Arizona. I'll also say that no paintball field is perfect. Not in Arizona, anyways. Arizona paintball is one sad scene as of late. The players have turned into divas who want discounts on EVERYTHING. Numerous other reviews have claimed that there were no refs on the field and whatnot. Well, when you and your team complain about paying a measly 25$ entry fee and frequently try to pay without playing, you could understand a company not being to pay a person to ref, let alone care about your game. All I'm saying is that it takes a special breed to WANT to wake up early to blow up bunkers and wipe your whiny behinds while you complain about who you think you shot.

The turf is the best turf you'll find in Arizona. There's another field that's imitated their turf, but it's just recycled turf from another failed field. The staging area is set up so that you can watch speedball games while you stage.

Honestly, this isn't a bad field. There are just certain paintballers who want everything to be perfect and don't understand that humans make errors here and there.
