Flyin Colors has always been a fun place to play, having both indoor and outdoor paintball. Now they have a great new x-ball setup indoors in addition to the the nice woodsball course and now an outdoor speedball course too. The people there are extreemely friendly and accomodating. You will feel right at home really quickly and you'll be in for a good day of paintballing fun regardless of your style of play or paintball experience.
The new X-Ball field has a good variety of bunker shapes including a full X, small x's, Big Doritos, a snake, cans, bricks, the whole setup. It is indoors, dry and well lit. The building is a pole building and there are poles but they are worked in as bunkers with plastic barrels.
They have big indoor staging area that is heated. It has windows across one wall that you can watch the action in the indoor field and windows on the other side to allow alot of light in. There are lots of tables to set up your gear. They have paper towels and lense cleaner spray to wipe off paint. Just make sure you do your wiping in the staging area and not on the field; noone likes a wiper/cheater. Make sure you keep your goggles on once you pass through the field doors and you get your barrel sock on when you go back out the doors or you WILL hear about it from the refs and the regulars that play there. Chrono before you hit the field. The leagal speed is 285 FPS, they don't want anybody getting welted up too badly.
The woodsball is a long wooded course with a stream and a bridge. There are lots of bunkers including natural branches and logs, dirt mounds, dug outs, spools and wooden built. There is enough room to have some pretty large epic battles.
They have good quality rentals with HPA tanks and they keep the rental equipment in really good operating order. Tyson can help if you have a marker problem.
Prices are really good, only $60 for a case of paint and NO Field fee and NO Air fee to pay on top of that. They carry some basic paintball accessories for your purchase.
You see a good mix of paintballers at Flyin Colors, with skill levels from first time players, to moderate skilled players, to highly skilled paintball teams. Some people come to play the woods, some come to play the xball and speed ball, but most will play both. You'll see players with basic paintball gear (Walmart tippmanns and lightnings) up to high end speed ball gear like Luxes and Victories. You'll also find pump players like me playing indoors and out. The Army ROTC has trained there. Different college and university teams have come to practice there. Saturdays is a general open day for walk-ons, groups and partys. On Sundays, there is often a team or two practicing there.
Partys are welcome, you see birthday partys, bachelor partys, church groups, father son days. Walk-ons get blended in with the groups.
The owners Tony and Tyson run a really good operation with a solid emphasis on safety. The referees are good guys that are fair and helpful. Flyin Colors has a group of regulars that come and play and/or hang out and talk paintball.
They have a candy/chip machine and a soda machine, they sell bottled water. The toilet facility is just a portapotty.
It doesn't matter what season it is, Flyin Colors is a really good choce for a day of having fun ans shooting your buddy or a complete stranger that will likely become your friend by the end of the day. If it's raining outside, it is dry in the indoor field. If there is snow on the ground, you can play ou in the woods if you want or go inside where it is reasonably warm even on the coldedst winter days. On a sunny day, the woods are a great place to strategically hunt down the other team's players and the outdoor speedball makes for fast action in the lanes between the air bunkers.

This is a pretty fun place. The indoor field is a great x ball field. The only concern is that it is a HARD dirt floor, so either be rocking some pads and no big slides. The field is also very tight, the snake is tiny. If you make it into snake you are stuck there so it puts a great deal on being a pain for the other team or you will be bunkered in a quick manner.
Their paint has greatly improved to Marbs and have been the best I have shot yet.
I played the woods field once. Went pump and it was ok. I'm not a big woods player but maybe a few more times and I will warm up to it. But the mud did suck and a few rocks and bushes with huge thorns.
4k HPA fills is very nice to see !!!!!

Flyn' Colors is a great place to go to play in the middle of winter when no one else has an air ball field up. The staff are some of the friendliest, funniest and knowledgeable people you'll ever meet, just don't piss off tyson. All you pay for is paint if you have your own gear, and the paint is usually high quality (Marbelizer/Diablo All Star/RPS Premium), and rental gear is at a good price. The outdoor woods ball field is a great setup with a lot of shrubs and brush obscuring long shots and a creek and bridge to mix things up a bit. The speedball field is nice, but it's only 20 feet from the home bunker to the corner, awesome for snapshot practice and games up to 5 on 5.

Flyn Colors is definitely a fun place to play paintball, although it's a bit more oriented towards speedball. I wouldn't highly recommend this field to someone who really wants to play out in the woods, because their woodsball field is pretty much a small strip of wooded land that's set up to resemble a large speedball course. Not that it's bad, just not quite what I'm looking for when I want to play in the woods.
That's pretty much the only downside other than the price of the paint. $60 a case is a lot, period. BUT they put their profits back into the field, which is great. Last time I went, they were talking about setting up blacklights, and about buying glowing paintballs, which sounds like it would be great to play on. So at least they're not charging you a lot for paint just so they can put it into their own pockets. These guys love to play paintball and they're using their money to make a great field for other people who love to play.
The staff and the regulars at Flyn Colors are awesome, a really cool group of people who don't mind helping out and just chilling in general. I can't really speak for the Sunday crowd, but everyone who shows up on Saturdays is generally cool to talk to and play with.
The indoor speedball field is just a TINY bit small, but nothing you really notice until you stop and examine it. The rocket they used to have in the middle had a problem with deflating, but they had replaced that the last time I was there with a snake (don't know why they felt the need to make the 50 a snake), so no problems. The staff usually switches up the layout of the field every now and then, which keeps things interesting. The support pillars tend to get in your way when you're playing on one side more than the other, but nothing serious.
Overall, it's a great place to play, I'd definitely recommend stopping and checking it out sometime, whether you're just a casual rec player or a hardcore baller.

I play at fly'N Colors every weekend Tony and Tyson both run a nice little operation out there along with the FNC Factory team. We have seen D3 and D4 players out there fairly regularly and have even got to play with a faction of the Fighting Illini (Hail the Chief!!!) team that won the National Chamionship a few years back. Everyone is really cool out there. As for value, $65 for a case of Marballizers and NO FIELD FEE/NO AIR FEE...4K fills all day for free guys. If you dont shoot all of your paint one week, bring it the next week and play for free...C'mon now haha

Fly N Colors Paintball IndoorNot a bad little place to play in the area. Plenty of players to get games going. Heated staging area is nice.
