I am a regular at CEPP (okay I used to be, haven't played in 4 months about now because of school). The refs are really friendly, along with the owner, Dave Bains. He will get to know you if you go out enough. CEPP is considered a home for many paintballers in Norcal. One thing I like about it is that Deep (one of the main staff) goes around making announcements, getting you involved and is really big on safety, which is a good thing. He may seem strict and you might want to blow it off but it is just protecting everyone overall.

The only complaint that I have is that some of the other players aren't the friendliest unless you have played with them for years and years, they just give you dirty looks and what not. Otherwise this park is for everyone.

Pros: Good airball fields
Cons: Have to be on a team to play airball...
I've been going here for a long time and I want to like it, I really do, but after repeated instances of bad customer service I am extremely reluctant to say I actually enjoy going to this field.

There are a handful of employees (2-3) there who will act like they care about your experience, which is almost enough to make up for the poor customer service provided by the women at the registration. Sometimes niche` service providers fall into thinking that bad service is okay because there is no where else to get the same service. The women at the front desk definitely convey this attitude.

This facility is amazing for any pro team to practice at. They will reserve a whole field for you to scrimmage and not let any renters or intermediate players on the field. They will also let you use the other airball field to practice drills and let few if any renters or intermediate players on that field either. For a pro team this place would be a dream come true, howeverrrr.....

I am an intermediate player who only likes airball. I go to this field damn near every weekend and frequently get turned away from play due to the fact that some "preferred" players (AKA members of their stupid CEPL) are doing scrims. They "allow" me to play on the other airball field with large groups of players with very different skill levels, often against an organized speedball team. Not fun. Alternatively they may ask me to play with beginners on scenario maps and ask me to "sandbag"... Seriously?

For beginners this facility is decent. Some of the fields are large and offer little coverage. They will often have WAY too many players on 1 field since they do ALL rentals at the same time. There is no "woodsball", only scenario maps. Sometimes the refs will forget to end a beginners group after the last player is out. They do not use color tags to identify teams nor do the refs pay attention to the match. They do not time matches. They do not chrono rental guns often enough (my lady friend got shot in the leg and had a huge, like softball size, bruise for over 2 weeks)

There are 2 great airball fields here that I enjoy playing very much, however the hours of operation are extremely misleading. They open at 9 and close at 4, but the airball fields are on a different schedule (9:30-10am and closed at 2-2:30pm, with an hour lunch in the middle). If you are like me, go all day to play as much airball as possible, you may be disappointed, or you may have a blast. It all depends on how many CEPL guys are there that day. The airball fields are only open for approx 4-5 hours, and towards the end of the day (1-2pm) they may tell you that the field is being used for drills or 1v1s.... WTF!?!? They also have a bad habit of making large groups of intermediate airball players watch a 3v3 scrim (once I counted 12 people on the sideline watching a 10 minute 3v3, when I asked the head ref about this he yelled "who is waiting??" and walked away..)

Talk about value, I pay 60 bucks for entry air paint and get to play only 3-4 hours, if I am lucky. Pro teams pay 20 bucks, bring their paint, and get a whole field to themselves. This alone would make me stop giving most places my business. To me, coming here is a crapshoot, but since it is the only location with good airball, I am forced to return. I can honestly say that if I had a comparable option I would not return to CEP.

TL DR:
Pro teams: You will have an awesome time here

Intermediate: You will spend most of your time playing beginners on the crappy fields, or waiting for a game on airball

Beginners: You will have a good time and play on the crappy fields, may get mixed with renters

Renters: You won't know any better. Come here for scenario maps, go to Action for woodsball. Renters should probably stick to Action anyway since they have many scenario fields as well....

CEPP hours of play:
Scenario: 9:30-10 until noon. Lunch ends at 12:45 and last game is at 3:30
Airball: 9:30-10 until noon. Lunch ends around 1 and last game is at 2pm

Sundays are normally overrun with pro teams hogging both airball fields. Renters will play with very large groups on the scenario fields.

Saturdays can be pretty empty and you may get grouped with the wrong crowd. Either down a class with beginners or playing against pros that wont split up from friends. You will likely have good choice of fields.

Self Equipped no paint = 60 bucks (once the field paint was bad so I had to pay 12 bucks more (72) to get decent paint)

Self Equipped with paint = 25 bucks

Rental = 60 bucks + 15 per bag of paint (you will need 1 or 2 per person)
MUST BUY THEIR PAINT

Pros: Any style of field you want, great staff
Cons: None Here
Coming here is a great experience for anyone interested in the sport. I have been coming here for years now and have never had a bad experience. Once you have come a few times and introduced yourself to the staff, they will remember you and consistently be the best you have seen at a field.

There are multiple fields, allowing a large number of players to be at the park comfortably while allowing for any style of play. There are 3 sets of air fields, 2 PSP and 1 NPPL, all with up to date bunkers. Also, they are all turfed making them great to play / slide on. The other fields consist of hyper ball, spools, mounds, attack and defend castle, close quarters tactical, and other combinations. There is something for everyone.

Groups are separated by experience, so first timers will get a safety briefing and be put into a group of equally experienced players. Referees are constantly watching to make sure all goes well and to keep things moving.

Another great part of this field is the level of play. First timers can come out and be put with others, however you will find all experience levels throughout the field. Experienced teams from all over the U.S. and sometimes from outside the U.S. come to play and practice here. Getting to watch these teams can be a great experience for people just getting into the sport. Also, they can offer great advise if you find time to approach them.

All in all this is a stellar field, people travel long distances to play here because it is one of the best. I highly recommend it for any level of play. It will be a good time and a great experience.

A great field to play at as a first time player lots of parking and tables to set up your gear. Rentals are modestly priced on site food and drinks at resonable prices. Also you can rent clothing if you dont have apropriate gear. This is by far the best field ive played at and im a truck driver who goes to fields all over the country. good thing is if you are new to the sport this places has everything you need to get sarted.

No real complaints about this place. The random people I end up with in the recball group always turn out to be the best friends I've never met, the prices are fair, the pro shop sells anything and everything a player could ever need (even repairs, although for a rather high price).

Just was wondering if anyone else knows an older ref who tends to be loud and proceeds to blow his top if someone breaks a safety rule? I got yelled at for flipping the bottoms on my flexes up a little bit (goggles still on the face, also between games) to spit out some paint that got in my mouth from a mask shot. "Yelled at" being rather ad hominem statements, nigh on insulting rather than taking me off the field and succinctly telling me not to do it again or face ejection without refund.

He also yelled at a new player for taking off his mask; took it a little too far by saying stuff like, "That'll do nothing to improve your game, kid, breaking safety rules like that! Get off the field!" The other refs also talked about him. When we were told to get going after just being told that we had five minutes, the ref proceeded to tell us that he worked on a different kind of time: "Yell time," which is he takes us out when the "head ref" tells him to so he doesn't get yelled at.
