I had always played speedball, this was my first time playing woodsball. I went a few times on Saturdays, and had a great time. Many different fields to play on, all with different scenarios. The players were all very friendly and the staff was fair and kept the games moving fast. There were a lot of people playing each time I went, but we were all split into different groups and taken to different fields so there was no waiting for other teams to finish on a field for us to play. It was a bit expensive so I don't see myself going every weekend (I payed $40 entrance and $80 for a full case of paint), but the prices also means no one is showering the novice players like myself with paint..
Overall great experience and look forward to going there again.

Topgun is without a doubt the best woodsball field in NJ. They have good speedball fields, very knowledgeable staff, the quality of refs can vary but overall they are good. On the weekends there are always loads of people playing yet because of the size it is never over-crowded. My only problem with them is the paint prices are a bit high ($60 half case, $80 full case) and admission fee is $40. In this area they are second only to skirmish so i tolerate the higher prices for the better quality.

ive practiced at top gun twice within the last year. The owner was even nice enough to give me and my buddies a tour of the field and pro shop. the field is as legit as it can be without turf. The grass is maintained very well. the bunkers all stay inflated and their staff is very accurate with there national layouts. If you need a regulation xball or nppl field to play on top gun is the way to go. some of my team drive 5 hours from Massachusetts to play at top gun and it is worth it.

Top Gun PaintballTop Gun is easily the best field in the area in the summer/spring. Lots of friendly people, and games with evenly distributed teams, skill-wise (something that is very important for walk-on games).

The field paint is not that good and its crazy cause for 80 a case i would expect some decent paint but it is a nice place.

other than the distance(2+ hours one way for me to get there), this is one of the best fields that i've ever been to. i've played in many different fields in NJ, NY, VA, MI, IN; and not only does Top Gun provide a great experience, they are also constantly trying to improve not only the field, but the player's time there.
the staff is friendly and accommodating.
its hard to say that this is better than any other field, unless you've played there. you can see the difference of an owner that is wanting to improve, versus having a field that is just there.
