Cons: Few fields, give airsofters priority on all fields
decent field but many problems including late starts, they advertise 4.5k fills but never fill beyond 4k, they give priority to the airsofters that go there on field use, but the worst offense is that most of the time they wont even let you use your own gear! like your electronic hopper and they have no problem saying no before you even walk out on the field whether you shoot fast or not

this is an ok place to go, the prices are high middle of the road, they dont put up their airball field and they usually only play most of the rounds on the three closest fields 2 of which are almost identical and the rusted out barrels will jack your gear up

i went here quite a bit but got good reviews from uspn and decided to try it out and i wont ever be coming back as uspn is cheaper more diverse and most of all they let you use the gear you paid for!

ive been playing at TAG for about 1 year now. everytime i go do not regret it.
staff is really friendly, field has the safety issues locked down, great rental gear for beginners, misters for hot days.

TAG does a great job balancing the teams. if you havent played before they will put u with a group of beginners instead of putting u in a group of self-equip pros. TAGs staff members are friendly and have always had a good modd when i went.

GREAT fields for the most part. scenario and speed ball fields are great. all fields at tag are dirt fields. no turf no grass all dirt. the fields are great to play on either way. my preferred play style is speed ball and i like there fields.

You must buy there paint there. which is 60 dollars for a case. 1000 paintballs comes in at 35. 500 paintballs goes for 20. they need to use eco friendly paintballs since they are next to wild life and river but there paint is great! might get a few bounces here and there but for the most part GREAT PAINT

i highly recommend this field. the owner Roland Chick is a great guy who really cares about the sport and how much fun u can have if its played the right way.

Been playing at TAG now for 20 years at all of its various locations and it is still my favorite. They now have a new airball field with turf that is fantastic to play on. The field variety is great and never stops improving. They offer .68 cal or .50 cal, pump or semi-auto play. This is a very beginner friendly field with the lowest feet per second (FPS) limits of any field I have ever played at. They have really ramped things up in the last couple years. They have had two multiday big scenario games hosted by Rejexx paintball, which is super fun if you've never tried one. And this year has been the home field for the AFPL Havoc tournament series

Pros: Easily accessible
Cons: FPO, small crowds
I've played here both with groups of friends and as just myself as a walkon, and each time playing paintball have left feeling like the day just wasn't complete. I enjoy talking with the field staff (owner is weird though, I don't think there's an easy way to describe Roland), and they are friendly and do what they can to make each game and each day enjoyable for all players present.

It seems that the majority of people who come here are private birthday parties often playing with .50 markers instead of .68 markers, and the .68 general public games are small and quick. That's not necessarily a bad thing, as I play either pump or magfed most of the time, so shorter games where the fields aren't crowded are better for me. The biggest issue for me is I haven't really found a community of paintball players that are repeating customers. I haven't been down since spring of 2016 so that may have changed, it's also bloody hot in Hollister so I try not to play there in the summer. Roland kept talking about how he's got huge plans and a big sponsored team coming in, I don't know if that actually happened or not.

The scenarios put on by Rejexx here are fun and there are more paint options including First Strike during those scenrios. Also the field's website is good for a laugh or two, so there's that.

There's also AO13 which runs airsoft games once or twice a month on the same property as TAG. I have enjoyed my time far more with AO13 than TAG itself, mostly due to the staff and players being a tight-knit group and self-policing within the returning player base.

Field paint only, pretty sure it's private label APX. Ran okay through my magfed markers, very brittle. The field's website says 240fps though I was asked to chrono at 220 each time, not sure if that was everyone or just me based on being self-equipped.

Pros: Fields are awesome. Ref's are cool. Viewing area
Cons: Blew my Knee up in a gopher hole once.
I've been playing paintball at TAG in hollister for a number of years now. Back when I was younger (I'm 32 now) I use to play at TAG in Watsonville where I live. Roland has always been a great guy, and made experience a good one. This continues here. The refs are all really nice and understand the game. I had a disk burst in my tank one day. One of the guys there took it from me and in less then 10 minutes brought it back repaired at no charge. My favorite thing to do here is Get a group of 6-10 of my friends and all meet there to play for a day. Saturday's are best. We play all morning then order Pizza from Mountain Mikes down the street and munch down. Chill for a little bit then head back out to finish off the day. Everyone always has a ton of fun. The fields are awesome. One of them is called the close quarters field, yeah, that one hurts...Bad. I used to hate the trenches, but now it is super fun, it's a field dug out into the ground and so long your paint can't reach the other side. Last I talked to my friend Sneaky Jay, he told me they are putting in an airball field so that will add to the over all appeal of the field. Come support these guys, realize it cost money to run a field so Don't complain about their expensive paint, just pay the cash for your case and feel good knowing you are help to sustain Roland's company so the field can stay open for years to come.

Pros: Nice staff, good discounts, friendly atmosphere
Cons: Expensive, lack of variety, lots of dirt
I decided to get back into paintball after a break of many years, so I was very nervous about jumping back into the game. Fortunately, this field is one of the friendliest I've ever been to, and they are extremely oriented toward newer players having fun. I suppose it might depend on who shows up, but the whole day never felt like a competition, just a bunch of people hanging out and playing paintball.

Their military discount is really excellent, $15 off their $50 admission. If you're bringing your family and paying for everyone without that discount though, things get expensive quickly.

They heavily advertise their policy of separating people based on their experience and their setup, but I never saw that during my trip. Although to be fair, there was only one electric hopper present and there wasn't really any way to separate him from the rest of the group, so there's that.

The air fills were 3k max when I went, but the self-service fill stations were extraordinarily convenient. The fields lack variety, they're all just bunker-fields with different types of piled-up junk. One course is bunkers made out of water tanks, one course is bunkers made out of barrels, one course is bunkers made out of trailers... It's fun, but I was hoping to get some woods play in and it never happened.
The only other problem I had with the fields were that they're just packed dirt, and while they're not rocky, they're pretty rough. I was wearing my paintball gear, so I didn't have a problem sliding through it, but anyone who shows up in sweatpants is going to have some holes torn in their knees.

Overall, great family place, perfect for bringing your beginner friends to have a good time. I'll probably be visiting again at least a few more times before I start looking for other fields, it's a really great spot to get comfortable with the sport again.

I used to play here all the time and am returning from a fairly lengthly hiatus from paintball. Back in the day this place was awesome to go to and there were always enough people to shoot.

That was back in the hay day when paintball was really popular. I'm not sure what has happened since I left but it seems like that vibe went away.

All the being said this place is still a popular location and for that I would recommend!
