Pros: FREE, Open 24/7
Cons: No store on-site, small/no crowd
My friends and I go out here around twice a month to play. It's cheaper than making the hour+ drive to the other fields, since we're just playing rec ball. This brings back old memories of playing paintball as a kid in backyards.

The field is mostly dirt and pallets, with some barrels and target dummies thrown into the mix. There are a couple of forts, and some thick wooded areas. The field is free to use, and you can go any time within reason.

The only cons I can see are the fact that there is no store on-site, so you'll need to bring all the paint and air you'll need for the day. Also, since the bunkers are mostly pallets, you can count on being bathed in splatter. But you can pretty much set up and play however you want, so it's hard to complain.

From what I hear, the MWR rents gear, fills (air) tanks, and sells paint at decent prices, so while there isn't a store on location, supplies can be picked up nearby. If you want to play some rec/woodsball without going on a roadtrip or breaking the bank, this place can't be beat.

Here's the good news about the Benning play area: it's free. all you have to do is show ID/get a pass to get on base. From there, you're on your own unless Jerry from Moxie Paintball is there. If he is he'll have some air and paint to sell. Check his facebook page for more info on when he'll be at the field.
