Pros: Great Staff and multiple fields
Cons: Not enough refs
I have been going here for 3+ years and have loved every single day of it. The staff all are seasoned paintball players with quite a bit of experience for those of you who are looking for any paintball advice. They also offer phenomenal help when it comes to broken markers or other malfunctioning equipment. They have a speedball field with spindles and a woodsball field that can be cut up into different sections to accommodate parties. The only thing that is lacking would be the number of refs that show up (usually 15-25 yr olds). Joe (owner) is usually left to ref alone. Luckily the ref population shoots up during the summer. During the non-winter months, they offer pizza and beverages. The cheapest paint is $40 while the most expensive is $60, if I can remember correctly (2000 rounds each case). The entry fee for BYOP is $20 while people who buy at the very least a bag of paint are only charged $15. The entry includes all day air refills. All safety measures are enforced pretty strictly which is fine with me (don't want to go blind due to someone not having a barrel condom on). All in all this is an extremely fun field with people who can help anyone be it a new paintballer or experienced tourney.

Great field that focuses on helping new players and first timers get better aquainted to the sport. 4500 and 3000 psi fill stations available. Has a gravity feed only Saturday which encourages new players. Valken paint that they use is good quality, personally recommend the graffiti paint for someone who doesn't want to spend very top dollar on recball paint.

Xtreme has been kind of a home for me. I found them to be a definite step above one of the fields in CT that I went to a few times. Joe, the owner is a friendly guy that is always willing to help people out if they need it. The guys at the field are able to help too if anyone has an issue with their markers or otherwise if they have an issue. They offer pizza lunch at $1 a slice and drinks for the same as well. For $15, you get free air all day long, and Joe does not require you to buy the field paint. As for the fields themselves, they have their large woodsball field and their new speedball field (made up of all cable spools). Before going out onto the field, everyone is given a safety briefing, and they stick to it on the field and off the field. Nothing regarding safety of others is lax at all, and even other players there are aware of that. As for the fields, they have roped off areas of territory. They have a short field for smaller games that has a bunker on each end (castle and octagon, as well as smaller bunkers and trees for cover), an area with minor huts and buildings (the village), and other areas as well that are used mostly during the full field games. All in all, Joe runs a good field and is definitely worth the money to go and play. He gets good turnouts as well on Sundays for the most part. Im not sure about Saturdays though, I work on those days.

Updated some info as of 3/6/14.

Xtreme offers the best balance of the two fields in Western MA.
Camelot is now closed. Airsports has an alright woods field, not sure if they still have a speedball field, but since the field has changed hands from Greg to the new owners, the safety seems to have taken a big dive.

Xtreme has a big woodsball field with seriously varied terrain, from a nice open area for quick turn-around and thick brush to sneak around in and flank opponents. Joe, the owner, is a great guy and his number one focus is always on the new players, making sure they're having fun and not being overwhelmed.

They also run some awesome scenario games and almost all of them benefit a charity. Guns 4 Hoses is their biggest game of the year with over 200 people in 2013! They raise money for the National Fallen Firefighters fund for that one.

Xtreme now runs Saturdays as gravity feed only which to me at least has made a HUGE difference. Every weekend now I see players bringing pumps or mech semis out, one balling, taking the ROF back to a manageable, fun level. Sundays, you can use a force-fed hopper but ROF is universally capped at 15 BPS in semi only. They've got a ton of the Virtue handheld chronos so they can spot check throughout the day if they need to.

They've got one spool field set up for speedball now, which is pretty fun. They've also got an airball field that they're in the middle of fixing up so we can play on it. All in all it's a great local field for laid back fun times.

Well as every western mass paintballer knows after careful research there are 3 major western mass fields. Airsports in Ludlow, MA and Camelot in Chicopee, MA. Then there is Xtreme in Agawam, MA. I will do a vs. comparison against both fields.
Xtreme vs. Camelot

Xtreme offers you much more for your money. As a first time player using rental gear, you get top notch tippman guns. You are using compressed air instead of co2 tanks, and fogless masks. They donít cheap out on the rental gear like everyone else, there rental gear is gear you want to actually own when you leave the field. They fill the same air, co2, 3000, 4500 psi tanks and they mostly fill them all the way unlike the other fields which barely get you to 3500 on the 4500 fill. To some this is nothing, but to me it means allot. Xtreme tops your wonderful day with food for sale at the field at lunch time and thereafter and drinks as well. Camelot is primarily for your speedball player looking to throw out tons of paint at a few targets. Xtreme has over 30+ acres for you to play woodsball on, as well as the speedball fields as well. Camelotís woodsball fields are mediocre at best. The main difference between the two is the time you will have, renting great gear, and playing paintball with a bunch of players that become friends afterwards without any bickering or fighting is the day Iím looking for, not to argue and fight over who killed who and get over shot by extreme speedball players. All the top dogs at Extreme on Saturdays gravity feed day pull out there pumps and help the newer players flank opponents and learn the strategy of the game rather than waste paint trying to kit an opponent 5o yards away. Thanks Paintball, in this comparison...I would say there is none...Camelot is a 6/10 ...Xtreme sets the bar for the area...and has plenty of room to grow with an eager to help owner.

Now for Airsports vs. Xtreme

This comparison is a little bit harder. Airsports is better field then Camelot for sure. It has all the milsim bunkers and huge house layouts you can get lost in. There is a speedball alley in the woods as well as the woodsball house style to play in. But the thing to remember is this...when youíre playing against someone who is bunkered down in a house, and there is 20 of you outside shooting at him, and he is so well covered in that house that he can shoot out all of you with no surrounding cover to that house he is in, how is that paintball? I remember when we used only trees for cover....the good old days. Airsports has two story buildings, and I tend to think I am a good player, and being in the bunkers there you donít need to be good, because the average player can hold off 10 opponents himself with the amount of cover at Airsports per bunker par say. There woodsball field is in my opinion about 1/6 the size of Extreme though. Itís nicely laid out, but at the same time very close together and cluttered. You can see the whole field while playing. The big let down at Airports is the season pass...they will allow you to play there all year on a season pass for $250!!!!! My god that's allot compared to $125 at Xtreme. And the owner will not sell you a pass to Airports if you play there often, because he wonít make enough money off of you, where the owners of Extreme are looking out for your best interest instead. Airsports offers you scenarios monthly, as does Xtreme, and charges you more money to play. Airsports is general admission of $20 instead of $15 like Xtreme, and you get a spyder instead of a tippmann. Not that a spyder is bad, but the ones you get there arenít really the nicest. He will give you a co2 tank and non fogless mask as well. There are no Lunches there, unless players bring stuff themselves.

Conclusion..........
The biggest focus at Xtreme from my experience there was on the new players. Teaching them the game, and seeing how open they would ask questions was great. It seemed like everyone was friends at the field and anyone could fit in there. The owner made it quite simple with the rules and spent extra time making sure the new players were well acquainted and conformitable which was nice to see...definitely not a take your money and see ya later type of facility.

The gravity feed Saturdays was a huge plus as well, allowing controllable rates of fire for the new players not to get bombarded with balls and the ability to try out markers that were pump and semi automatic.

There were 2 speedball fields in place when I was there, a regular blow up speedball field, and then there was a really neat speedball course set up with old cable wire holders, not sure thatís the name for them but it was really cool to see that. I believe they will be functioning and open very soon. The experience was great, the people were great, and of course the money was great. Players ranged in age from say 10-55 and everyone got along great and I am looking forward to head back over. I even heard wind that all brand new players looking to play there and try it out can print off a free new player 1 time day pass for Saturday or Sunday from the local craigslist add for free admission if you purchase paint, that sounds like an amazing deal seeing as they sell top grade paint cheaper then Wal-Mart paint prices. Good luck ...pm me with any questions anytime and hope to shoot ya later!
