I've played here once. They allowed BYOP, which was unusual. The field was on a hillside, but it is certainly much more fun that other hillside fields I've played on. The grade is not too steep. The bunkers and structures were very playable. I had a blast, and I hope to one day return . They're only open one day per weekend, I think, and it varies between Saturdays and Sundays so you'd best check the calendar on their website before going .

I absolutely love this field. I base my rating of all other fields off of this one. This field is my home field where I learned to play . most if not all experienced players here are willing to take new players under their wing. This is a great field for players of any level. It is a urban/woodsball field. speedball can be played here, but i would not characterise the field as a speedball field. Still, this is an AMAZING place to play and i will be going back every chance I get.

Wolf ridge is good becuase they is nothing else out there.

I love how you can bring your own paint, save a lot of money.

They only really have three fields which kind of sucks, and its an up hill battle.

Every time i go there i show up early but they wait for everyone to pay because they are short staff. I HATE sitting there waiting for a game to start. losing day light. NEVER go on sunday games usually dont start till 1.

They have a safety rule kill....listen to this....If i pop around a corner and see 90 percent of the players body and yell "safety kill" to the other player within 5-7 feet. he is dead! This is STUPID, its paintball not toy guys...

I also do not like how knee down and elbow down hits do not count...since when is that not body of your body...

The field need a lot of work done on it. I dont think people work on the field during the week.

No pro shop either or food.

They have a great nice helping refing staff.

No speed ball. they have a small concrete field which is used for speed ball style play but its a joke.

Nice people, it just needs a lot of work. Great for people living in the area or go to school in the area.

Check it on and see if you like it.

Pros: Great Refs/Staff, Family Friendly, Reasonable Cost
Cons: No more BYOP, I can't go often enough :D
I have been playing this field for years since I was a kid. I have been to other fields both Woods/Scenario and Speed/Pro fields. I take all these different fields into consideration while I compose this review.

Lets get to the point, This is a "Woods ball" field, and if you are looking for a place to practice speedball this field won't meet your needs.

If you are looking for a place to have fun and keep from getting too rusty this place is perfect. I love this field, the staff, and the people who play. I wish I could go out more often but I have a 2 year old son now.

Some people complain about long waits to play, and at times that is true. But when that happens you can always grab a friend or a few other players and ask the ref or Carl if you can go out and do a small match while you wait. They have a "mini speedball" setup with some cement barriers that is perfect for fast matches. "btw no need for safety kills with friends here "

As of January 1st this year(2015) the field is no longer BYOP, which kinda sucks but honestly only saves you like $5-$15 on a case anyway.

Some fields like Big Pearl offer annual passes that grant discounts on paint or rainbow boxes that give free field entry upon purchase. I would like to see something like that implemented here. but honestly prices there are higher than Wolfs ridge anyway.

Wolfs Ridge hosts several Scenarios each year such of "Hatfields VS. McCoys" and the occasional movie based Scenario like "Cowboys VS. Aliens"

There are Two fields but 8 outa 10 times it will just be the first field on open days. This field is broken into two parts: upper and lower with a path down the middle to separate them. They play Capture the flag, cannon games, attack & defend, elimination, even some "tank" games here.

Upper field:
Is comprised of: two towers on either side with various wall and four-square bunkers between. There are treelines at the back of each side and a thin tree line on the right. Staging side goes uphill to walking side.

Lower Field:
Is comprised of: a "mini speedball" setup and a big hill on staging side, a Saloon on the left between the two sides, a bit of wooded area on the walking side and numerous bunkers with pretty decent angles to keep things interesting. Most speedballers find his side more comfortable. but when it has been raining alot there are several giant mud slides..... slide as in oh **** I shouldn't have gone this way crap crap crap I am out......

The field has gone through many evolutions throughout the years and always for the best. Most if not all of the old bunkers that were kinda starting to rot have been replaced with more rugged bunkers made of plastics or cement.

There are two teams that are based out of Wolfs Ridge. The Wulfenkow Legion scenario team, "the Wulfenkow half is based here." And the Speedball team that travels fairly often and I cannot remember it's name.

To be more fair to newer players all Wolfsridge team members take 1 break anywhere and we are out. Non team members now have 1 break anywhere but gun and your out. I am not sure when this rule updated from the old Elbows down Knees down your good rule.

The safety rule is still like 30-35 feet and that is to help keep the little kids safer from those hard bruises. This rule is great as I have no love of being shot in the ear or testicles from 10 feet away. This rule use to pose a problem in a few of the buildings and bunkers and have since been addressed via bunker kills.

The bigger bunkers that tend to host 3+ people have had big Yellow triangles added to them that you can smack with your hand and yell bunker kill. All of these triangle can be properly defended if your team pays attention but also helps to prevent games getting too bogged down by campers.

All-in-All this is a great field and a great experience for paintball players of all ages, walks of life and experience. You won't regret playing here. I hope this review has been helpful if not just a little disorganized. Time to go change a dirty diaper
