The first CCPL event of 2005 took place April 2nd and 3rd.At Capt'n Carl's Paintball Games & Supplies 610-364-9666. With 85 teams in 3 divisions and 2 days of play scheduled the stage was set. This, the 2nd year of the CCPL, a young league this is a nice turn out of teams and that made for good competition.
Saturday brought the first day of play 3 man young guns, rookie, and
novice. and with it came the rainfall, that made the day muddy and wet but play went on. The CCPL runs there event with 3 playing fields so the 3 man play was over at 2:00 pm. This was a good thing because of the rain. East Coast Empire took first in the 3 man novice followed by Tri-State Twisters Blue in Second. Kript and MOD War Child rounded out the 3 man Novice. In the Rookie division it was Philly Brawlers Platinum that went home with the trophy, followed by Breakthrough Kidz, Torment, and National Disaster.
The CCPL added a new Young Guns division for 2005, with the age limit set at 16. This division maxed out, drawing 16 teams competing for a prize package valued at $700. Rounding out the day, Punisher Punks won the division, followed by Unity, Distorted Youth, and No Discipline Kidz.
Sunday brought overcast skies, but no rain in the morning. With 50 5-man teams broken into three divisions, competition was excellent. In the Novice division, again East Coast Empire took first, followed by Wanna Play Factory 2, Wanna Play Factory 1, and Upstate H8. The largest division of the day, with 30 teams, was 5-man rookie. The rookie division featured semi-finals, which brought the number of teams from 30 to 8, and then down to 4 for finals. Stonemak Factory X took first, followed by Breakthrough Kidz, Velocity, and PA Bombers. Finishing out the day was 5 man Young Guns, again a new division for the CCPL for this year. The top four for the division were Punisher Punks, No Discipline Kidz, Outlaw Factory Kidz, and Delmarva Paintball Kidz.
Special thanks to National Paintball Supply, Empire, and Draxxus for making the event possible.
