If your LP tank is Good and has really high flow Like a Crossfire or Legionaire you should have no Problems

Thanks Kai - but is their any significant performance advantage of one over the other? Basically, I haven't purchased a tank yet - so does it matter either way?

Some where, I found that it said that LP tanks would have Shot down at high rates of fire. Is this true?

If you dont have one get the HP, It's just I would not go out of my way to buy one if I had a LP....everyone here runs LP tanks with awesome results....

MacDev Legion Air? I wanted to pick up a tank today for some games this weekend - that's my dilemma. You wouldn't recommend any of the ones I posted? I can't find the Legion Air on sale anywhere except straight from MacDev...

You're going to get the same shots per fill if you use LP or HP. If you have a bad tank or shoot really fast, you might get shootdown with LP. You can't use LP on every gun though, but you can use almost every gun on HP.

i have a LP 70/4500 CF and tried my friends HP 68/4500 CF and there was no difference. I dont know if I in my imagination feels more secure with a HP reg and HE-bolt but i'm gonna trade my LP w/ my friends HP reg.. just to be on the safe side. well.. and he have a alias timmy and really wanna have a LP reg.

But me= no difference in performance what so ever.

sidenote: i use a Sidewinder HPR and a JDS LPR if that matters

Yes I suppose high flow inline probably can make all the difference as well....

But I have set up over plenty Freestlyes with LP tanks , come to think of it I dont know if One person used the stock reg so I cannot vouch for that

the manuel is covered front to back saying it about 4 times that you get better results with a LP tank...

not sure how true it is, but i bieleve icd knows what they are talking about.

the manual is written in the time when the HE-bolt was on the drawingboard, so i wouldnt take that for a proof that LP is the only way to go considering that the 'original' bolts operating pressure was significant lower than the HE-bots op. pressure. (wow, that was a long sentence)

HP tank with stock HPR will not cause a problem. And it will be even less of a problem with a good, aftermarket HPR like CP, Macdev or AKA.

General rule I was told is that you want at least 150 to 250 more psi entering in the the HPR over the regular operating pressure. I run a maxflo lp air tank on my generation 1 at about 475 psi output on my tank to a CP reg at about 300. No shoot down ever and works excellent and with no HE kit I get about 1200 shots out of a 88/4500 tank. I also have a 04/05 generation 2 that runs about 410 ish psi ( its high but thats what it runs at to get 295 fps) I used a crossfire LP tank output at about 450 and its such a good tank I had no shoot down either but to be safe its to close for input and output for me and I sold the LP tank and got a Hp tank to be safe. Lastly I used a PMI tank HP 800 output and it was horrible I watched the guage on the gun starve it self over and over. So Use a LP tank or a HP you need a good tank regardless what pressure the output is.
