How badly does a stock Icon Z need a new barrel? I know stock Spyder barrels aren't good, but my friend has an Icon and I have no idea about it.
Thank you for your time.

It all depends on how your financial situation is: the more money you spend on the gun, the better it will perform. I would suggest at least something in the $50 range, you will definitely see an improvement in the grouping pattern.

The Icon Z's stock barrel is actually fairly good. IMO it is a lil bit better then the average spyder stock barrel but still nothing special.
Go for a CP one piece or JJ ceramic if upgrading the barrel is something that is thinking about being done.
but again... the stock barrel is nothing to complain about and an upgrade isn't necesary if you dont want to.

I tried the whisper and I liked it but I am always looking to find something new. I also tried the Custom product 1 piece it worked good too for me.

if ur going for a barrel:
get a freak barrel (used for cheap of net)
or smart parts Tear Drop (made in USA)
don't go for the 32 degrees crap...
get something maked by people that know what there doing...
i shot a Z b4 and it was really bad. i mean really really bad but i advise just to buy a new gun. Buy a real electro kingman spyder cuz then you can get awsome upgrades for it...to make it almost a timmy. The more the mainstream the marker the more upgrades avaible...

No Spyder with the exception of Bad Company's will ever shoot like a Timmy.
And before you call 32 degrees crap, understand that he just bought a 32 degrees gun. He didn't ask for you to trash what what he just bought and make him feel terrible. If you want to inform him that his gun isn't as good as other guns in that price range, and that he should consider getting rid of it and getting a different gun, do so in a considerate manner.
And I agree about the barrels. The Freak is probably what anyone should aspire to get if they have the money. It's actually money well spent considering the fact that all you have to do is buy a new back piece if you ever get a new gun without Spyder threads.

If you want to add more credibility to your insight, put some effort into your spelling.

I didn't know I was going to be grammar checked but . . .
maybe I should go into more detail . . .
I have a Silver Bullet LCD (32 DEGREES!) And I hate how it’s got misc. parts in it. I thought all spyder clones are the same (very dumb thought).
I was looking around for upgrades and it sucks that it’s got a dragon board that is basically locked inside. I had to break off the on/off button to get it out. Luckily they are coming out with dragon t-board.
Like almost every 32 degrees feed neck is totally different. I am getting a Halo B and the flippin' thing doesn't even fit in the clamping feed neck made by 32degrees.
Maybe I am just ticked off because everything I get from 32 degrees has problems with it.
1. gun came broke from factory
2. clamping feed neck doesn't clamp good (on stuff that actually fits in it)
3. Board doesn't come out.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My advice is to find a cheap electro Kingman gun and add upgrades slowly to it. The reason I say this is that, i think to make a manual gun, to a electro, costs more than the gun itself. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I understand. And as far as the board coming out, you have to pull the LCD screen off the board first before you take the board out. You can't try to remove both at the same time. Don't know if you already figured that out or not. I have the same gun.
My Reloader B fit in my clamping feed neck (the one made just for this gun) very well, but when you tighten the clamp, you can still twist the loader in the neck. What I did was rough up the neck on the loader with 80 grit (very coarse) sandpaper so that when it goes in, the clamp feed grips it a little better. It improved.
