i never found a way to justify the cost of one.. yea they do keep out some of the dirt but for function they dont increase perfomance any and look kinda weird.. when it comes to aftermarket parts for the m98 im a pureist.. it works darn well the way it is :)

yeah true it works good with just a barrel and a revvy, but for as much as i play and as hard as i play it helps a lot.

I actually bought mine used from someone who was upgrading to the full boar. for $20 i got his rocket cock & RVA. For $10 I would consider a worth upgrade. For $30, I would skip it. It gets a little grey at $18, which is the lowest Ive seen it at.

When I had my 98 I was pondering getting the Roccket Cock or the Full Boar. I went with the Full Boar because it does the same thing only better. And I also noticed with the Full Boar I would never chop paint like i would when I didnt have it because the spring tension was lowered so much that it didnt have enough force to chop a ball but it still kept the velocity at around 300.

I like the concept, but I don’t like the plastic. If they came out with one that was constructed a little better, I think I would be more interested.

Cheers!

Check out the Hypur-cock unit at Tippmans site. It's made of aluminum and has a spring loaded cocking rod.

Thanks for the info! I went and checked it out. It looks pretty nice, but boy the want a dear price for it (almost $50 bucks!) I didn't see where to order though. Do you have to call Tippmann?

Cheers!

I got mine for like $20 from Central Ohio P-ball. Go to paintballdiscounters.com, I don't think it's on the site but e-mail them and ask.

Actually, it’s right there under Tippmann upgrades. Thanks for the link. How is it working out for you. Any problems with it, or dose it get the job done?

Cheers!

It is on there isn't it. Man I'm getting blind in my old age.

Works great. Unlike what I hear about the Rocket-cock, the Hypur doesn't move at all. It is spring loaded so it won't. I hear the Rocket does sometimes because it isn't spring loaded or retained in the forward position at all. The sight rail option is available seperately in case you want it later. Happy hunting.

Check out www.ballisticsports.com they have an aluminum version of the rocket cock called the spee-t-cock or somethig. Look under their online catalog then under tippman. I think it's $25 but it looks like a quality piece. Its available in three colors too. Red, black or polished.

man, BS is just full of ripoff products.

and yes, do be careful of the plastic rocket cock. one of my friends has broken the ring in half once, and cracked the cover near where one of the screws goes in once. i know youre supposed to be nice to plastic parts and all, but geez, it should not be this easy to break it. its just a good thing our proshop considers us good customers.

BS has ripped off everything that PB has been selling except for their drop forward. Personally I wouldn't buy anything from them just for that reason and I already hate myself for that free advertising I just did.
