Reffing at Pevs

Hey,

I want to look into reffing at pevs sometime after christmas. Do you guys need any refs or help in the proshop? And i was also curious about how much it will pay and who i need to talk to about reffing. And i am 15 years old on Feb. 25 if age is something u take into concideration

I need to get a job because im gonna have spent all of my prize money really quick here (I won this contest that gave me 5,000 dollars)

Anyways thanx for the help anyone that knos some of the stuff im asking.

talk to the AG people. when you go to the registration area, ask for beth or jay. they will most likely hook you up with a reffing job because they have been short a lot of people for the past couple of months. the first day is kind of a testing day, and you wont get paid. after that you start off at 50 a day and get a raise when they feel like you deserve one. you have a lot better chance of getting a job reffing than working in the proshop or any other shops.

I dont understand y ppl dont ref, i mean u are gettting paid to hang out at the pb field and watch ppl shoot each other (ok, u have to so some other stuff, and u get shot, but its worth it!)

Lots of people don't volunteer because in some ways it's thankless but you really learn some valuable skills young, like interpersonal communication, resolving disputes, customer service...fair play. Go for it bro! Hook it up!

it's also a good way to get to know the important people around pevs. like pev, todd pev, rab, JR, and all the other pevs team people that you've heard about. i honestly can say that if i didn't ref at Pevs@AG, i would be nowhere in my paintball career. who knows, maybe if you play enough and impress the right people, you'll get on a pevs team too!

delta team isn't that bad if you've been reffing for more than 4 years... cause handling customers can get old quick! and reffing in the rain/snow/heat, really sucks.

Yea it always sucks to ref in the snow and crap. But i like watching the ppl who are really good play!

dude, the delta team is awesome..bc some days u dont have to do anything and u just get 2 chill..and do very little work :D i love it :D but yea reffing in the snow aint fun bc u freeze but u switch out like every hour or so..so its oke..good luck...

I was thinkin about going and asking about reffing on saturday, so will they start the triald day righ tthere or do i need to come back another time for the trial day?

I asked at the end of the day, so I had ref training the next time I went...But my bet would be the next time, because you probably can't just start your training without knowing how to get the guns ready. On your first payday you wouldn't know what you're doing

on ur *free* day they show u how 2 do everything and how 2 do it right..u gotta fill out a application and then beth will tell u when 2 come do ur free day if u already turned in a application and u dunno when ur free day is then u can call beth...or ag and find out when u can do ur free day..

just thought i would jump in for a sec and let you all know who originally started "delta farce"... Myself and tory were the original founders of it.. it was called something else b4 "delta farce".. cant remember tho.. Jimmy later came up w/ that name. all the sheds in the back by the building.. me and tory built.. oh well.. it died off in the slow season and it stopped for a lil while.. and then timbroke kinda took over w/ dustin and it went from there.. but g-no is right about the reffing and it gettin old.. tory and i did it for a lil over 3 years.. and then we got tired of it and needed something else so we asked jim about delta farce and he loved it. so thats where it all started.. its ok young grasshoppers.. you will learn quickly

Gino, yes we did do a group. We got in trouble b/c you were just disscussing the way tips work at pevs, and he told Dan or whoever that we said tips were mandatory. So that is what happened.

I see the side of getting excused from dealing with customers. Also it’s cool that you guys help improve the facility I just don’t see me doing that when I come back.

Long story, but i entered a contest and i got a lump sum which i had to give some to my parents and some to gift tax. But i won it in early june. and it was paid in instalment over 2 months. thats how i was payin for all of my paint and crap. And that chunk of $$$ for my dm4. So after all was said and done with i only had about 600$ for the summer. (1000 or so for federal taxes and crap, 800 to my parents for my dm4 300$ or so for the three tourneys before the summer. About 5 cases of extra paint over the summer (the good 65$ stuff) Bought 4 games for my xbox and a new 400$ video card for my comp.) Thre is a little here and there that is not quite rite but thats basically it. I wasnt really all that thrilled (not really but also kida rite) b/c i wanted all 5 grand and i had to pay of loans from my parents like i said.
