It will be done in about a month. The guys just finished the first field today. Field 1 of 9. Out of the NINE fields, 2 will be Hyperball. It is all speedball I believe. It's in a very large field that used to be a driving range. It's about 300 yards away from my school. Sequoyah High if anyone knows. Anyway, it's supposedly going to be cheaper than PBA and Arkenstone. So, I guess I'll see some people there. www.ultimatepaintball.com

Where exactly is this field? It's good to see new fields opening around here!! Anywhere close Atlanta is good.. hehe
Carnagefly

It's on Hickory Road off of Hwy 140. It's address is in Canton which is about 45 minutes to an hour North of The Atl. Peace.

How did you go about getting sponsored by coca-cola? I live in ATL and I think it's an interesting place to start. =)

You'd have to talk to my captain about that one dude. I guess he just asked them and said that he would put Coke on all of our banners and stuff. We get a whole lot of Powerade and stuff for tourneys.
Yeah, I have no clue how we got Coke...
I do know we had CASES of freaking Powerade at the last tourney.. Hehe.. Fun.

How much will stuff be?
Damn it is far away...
Carnagefly
03-02-2002, 12:14 PM
I'm not sure, but since they're supposedly going to have more "tournament friendly" fields it's awesome because they're supposed to be cheaper than Paintball Atlanta and Arkenstone. Or any other field around here for that matter.

I went up there today and this is what I found out:
1. It opens up April 1st :)
2. They have massive amounts of lights for night play :)
3. There is NO FIELD FEE
4. They will be selling powerball and steel for around 50-60 a case
5. Pro shop
6. 20ft netting around all fields, and bleachers for a stadium like atmosphere
7. Here are the fields:
1. 5-man Spool field
2. 10-man Hyperball field
3. 5-man Hyperball field
4. 5-man Ultimate Air field
5. 3-man Ultimate Air field
6. 5-man Regular speedball field
7. 3-man Spool field
8. Maybe a trench/mounds field
9. Maybe a wall ball field
Could this be the SC VILLAGE OF THE SOUTH EAST?!
Overall this place will kick TOTAL ***. See ya in the middle.

Yes, I'm sure we're all very excited. He said he's gonna designate the tourney fields to the tourney players when there are little kids playing. Oh, and there probably will not be any woodsball here. Sorry snipers. ;)

How much is gas? I went to one place in IL one time and they charged 2 bucks for 1000 psi. thats 9 bucks for a tank fill. for me.
~COKslap
03-04-2002, 10:03 PM
It'll probably be normal for this area. About $3 per 3000psi. And maybe $4 for 4500. Or something like that...
Carnagefly
03-04-2002, 10:47 PM
Yeah. Air shouldn't be that much.
CheezeBaller

I need everything as cheap as possible. I am poor. The gas going there is too much.

Hi Guys,
I am one of the partners involved in Ultimate Paintball. I need to clarify some things. Here is what Ultimate Paintball will offer:
Open M-F 10-7 w/ no field fee.
Saturday 10-dark $10 field fee, $10 all day air
Sunday 1-dark $5 field fee, $10 all day air
Field Paint is Powerball and will be $70
Will be beginner, intemediate, and advance fields.
There will be no bunkering on the beginner and intermediate fields. Full tournament rules on the advanced fields.
Fields will be a:
1 - 10 man Hyperball
1 - 5 man Hyperball
1 - 5 man airball *another airball field should be there within the first few months
2 - 5 man Spools fields
We will be competitive with in-store pricing.
We will also have some of the higher end/more rare markers (free flows, vision impulses, dye cockers, merlin bodies etc.)
And we HOPE to be opening April 1, but we will not sacrifice quality in order to be open a week early.
Hope to see everyone there.

Now if you could only move closer to Grayson.....:(
Dudes I think this is great.. Personaly I am not a speedball player. I am dfintley a woods and rec player. I think that Tourny guys need a place to call there own and practice there game the way in needs to be played. Good luck and I will send all the torny guys your way.
Carnagefly
03-05-2002, 08:53 PM
Thanks man. Why don't you get into tournies?
I am not that compitive. I play to relax. I have enough stress at work. When John at Ga paintball 2.0 opens his 10 man feild I will play there on friday nights. It is only 10 minutes from my work.
jlaudio
03-06-2002, 06:15 AM
hehe
carnagefly, no reasoning with aiki about tournies. he's the "ex military type" the funny thing is that the way he likes to play he would be pretty good as a back tape man. very aggressive and loves the flank. the field sounds awesome. kinda bummed about the paint though i dont really like powerball at 70 but hey i dont gotta pay the bills either.
Chris could you guys look at a byop and maybe a 15 field fee kinda like the fatcity. just a suggestion and btw thanks for opening another field/store the area really needs them to help stablize prices.
Aiki, ill be at arkenstone saturday. we also have to go play this guys field just to show ya its not so bad :)
CHRISJ
03-06-2002, 09:20 AM
JLaudio,
The BYOP option has been talked about. We are considering doing it about once a month. We have talked about a $20 field fee on those days.
Also, we plan on hosting a tourny a month. 3-man novice, 5-man novice, 3-man open, 5-man open. Maybe that will help the competition level go up around here. And there will be good prizes. Usually guns for novice tournies and $$$ for open. We are thinking in a 3-man open:
$3000 1st prize
$1500 2nd prize
$1200 3rd prize
And on the paint issue, Powerball is a pretty good paint. I like it better than $100 for marbalizers, $100 for blaze, or $125 for Proball or Nelson (not sure what Wildfire shoots).
I look forward to seeing you guys there.
Carnagefly
03-06-2002, 10:40 AM
Chris, and you guys can't forget about Steel. From what Ted's been telling me it shoots great. He said one after another, they fell right on top of each other. Also, to all you guys thinking about the BYOP option, think about how much money it took to make this field. So, knowing that, remember that they have to sell paint to pay stuff off, probably. Support your local field and play safe, buy their paint. This way, it's safe and we keep the Sc Village of the South running for a long time!
CHRISJ
03-06-2002, 02:05 PM
We haven't made a decision on the Steel Balls yet. The concern is that it is unproven, so we will not use it as a field paint initially. Also, we shot a sample, which could have been cherry picked from the batch, which could mean the rest of the paint is crap. So, like I said before, the field paint will be Powerball.

03-06-2002, 02:49 PM
ChrisJ,
I think it would be a good idea if a team wanted to have a practice there...that you let them BYOP, $20 for all day air and field fee...jus an opinion...because most tourney players have sponsers...lmk
Carnagefly
03-06-2002, 03:59 PM
Jimmy, very good idea. Chris, thats cool.
Jlaudio,
I will be there on saturday with the Fish and some others. I will play this new feild. I was just asked to join a 3 man team the other day. I have been thinkin about it. I also like to coach a young guns team for my son.

03-10-2002, 10:09 AM
Chris, when will you guys get the nets up? I know you need those before you can get insurance. I'm really wanting to just help you guys build it. If that's cool. Peace.

No one will be allowed to help us build any of the fields. It is a workers comp issue and we aren't going to pay anyone to be there. (Basically having workers comp is just like paying someone because money is still coming out of the business). We are still on schedule to open in early April.

Man, I have to get back to Georgia!!! When I left there four years ago (Good old Air Force took me away) there weren't many fields that I knew of. It is good to see the scene getting big in GA. I am planning on coming home for a couple of weeks in April/May, and I would love to get out and show some of you young bucks how we old 25 year olds do it!!!:D Hope to see some of you guys in the future.

Hey where are u located again....Also are u guys sure u will stay in business considering on weekdays there is no field fee...You're a new field not many people know u...and also the fact that u are going to host tourneys every month with 1st place prizes being $3000.....hey don't get me wrong i would more than likely go to that tournament to win that prize but still....sounds high priced of a field.......anyways another question is that Powerball as field paint...is that good paint at all? I mean i have never shot it. I work at Wildfire and i only shoot their paint, its the only kind of paint i really like. By the way i saw u ask the question earlier what Wildfire shoots. We have our own brand of Nelson paint and about 11 different color/fills. You won't find this stuff anywhere. Anyways let me know what ya got on this new place. My team is looking to practice some more teams and stuff for competition and it sounds interesting to come out there and practice some teams but if we do, i want that deal mentioned earlier...$20 field fee and all day air plus BYOP. Whoever i just quoted made good sense b/c we are sponsered by Wildfire and love that paint and don't really wanna pay much for a practice. We need to save money for the tourneys. Well talk at u guys later LMK.

Hey Big Al,
Chris Jenkins of Ultimate Paintball here. We have done alot of research into our pricing and feel that our prices will be fair and that we will be very profitable. We are located beside two schools and we are getting a phenominal response to the field. We are planning on being "the Walmart of Paintball". We will consistently bring high quality fields to the public at low prices. That is how we plan on staying in business.
Our goal is to make plenty of money without anyone feeling ripped off. (No offense to any other field owners)
We also think that every team in the southeast will feel the same as you. You said that you would enter the tournament for a chance at $3000. In a three man event, we would need 29 other teams with your plan. I would think that Anarchy would send 2 teams. SSG 2 teams, PBA (Extreme, 2xtreme, etc) would send a few teams, Dark Carnival 2 teams, Fat City 3 teams, Carnage, Uproar, would send a few......and these are just a few of the local teams. I also know several people that would make a trip from Tenn, Fla, AL, SC, & NC for a chance to win $3000. We feel that our prizes will HELP us make money instead of hurting us.
Also, we wont say "This is our first tournament ever, $3000." We will host a few tournaments (3-man novice, 5-man novice, and probably 3 & 5 opens) before having the big one.
We are located at 2788 East Cherokee Dr. in Canton GA. We have had an average of 15 people per day show up to walk the fields and ask questions....and we arent even open yet. You should come see it too. Bring all of your friends, and lets get ready for the fun.

You must be talking about South GA when you say that there arent many fields... there is one down here in Baxley and one in Hortense.... They are sweet fields but only one that I actually want to drive to every weekend to play.

The Noonday 3-man had 35 teams. And the 1st prizes were impulses. I think our numbers are better than realistic. I had two guys drive down from Chattanooga to see the fields today. They said they were interested in the tournaments. We will see how the first few tournaments go in preparation of the open. Give me a call sometime about the fields.
