b cause i nedd sponsors, me and my teammates are looking to him some big tourneys and need sponsors...where else do i post it?
An internet forum is not going to sponsor your team! I would think more locally, like people you know. It's not about what I can do for you. If I'm handing out the cash, it's what can you do for me. Otherwise, get in some carwashes before winter sets in.

Dirt: Been in this sport 13yrs, own my own field and store with a home team. I have yet to see a team with finishes like that ( I am assuming local) get a paint sponsor. Better yet anything other than a % off sponsor is stretching right now for you, no offense.
My team who is ranked tied for 4th in the CFOA Rookie and 12th in CFOA Novice, who have poured thier hearts into playing and been around playing for as long as I have are just now seeing some kind of sponsorship. Is it because we are winning, not really, is it because we can throw stats in peoples face as well as our name and everyone say OMG we have to sponsor this team, not even. Its from who you know. If you take that and build a reputation with them and thier companies you will see things going your way. Its not what is a sponsor doing for you its just as PACO said, what are you going to do for them. Let them see a resume, show them numbers, proof, dedication, and drive, and you might see a little thank you.
Honestly and upfront, posting on PBN and how you posted it is not going to get you a sponsorship for anything. Sponsors dont go looking for you. You have to make your self look marketable. Send resumes out, start talking to industry people, and get ready to sell your sould for the contracts... lol.. joking on last part

Dirt,
A one line post that took you 30 seconds to write. Are you serious?
Not only will something like that not get you sponsored now, it may well hold you back later.
I know you didn't do it on purpose but your post is an insult to potential sponsors, and other teams that are bustin thier butts to play.
Read and Re- read Paco & Toric's posts, then if you're serious PM me and I'll try to help you some more.

Dude if you are coming in 4th at local tournys won't give you JACK ****.
We (Panhandle Allstars) are 1st in the Novice Psp series and it is hard to get good sponcers from Draxxus and other places so don't waste your time.

I'm going to try very hard here not to flame you and level some constructive criticism on you.
It's good to want sponsorship. Quite honestly, everyone wants it...as it defrays the cost of this very expensive hobby. The only thing is that most people, like yourself seem to be inclined to believe that this is a singular affair...that you get freebies for playing, when in actuality sponsorship is a two way street. The sponsor has to get something out of you to make it worth while.
Since you're a Pevs baller, lets use the Pevs sponsored teams (Justice, Crush, DC Dev, Sin, and Crucial) as examples. Each of these teams in addition to representing Pevs with consistent finishes, hard practices and significant effort on the field...also works their *** off for Pevs off the field. These guys bring revenue into the stores by referring their friends and co-workers to the field. They also ref Big Games at the fields, ref the 3 Man Tournaments that D and Rab do a fantastic job at and in many cases these guys also work for Pev and Todd and are store managers (Dale and Hoover) or work at the warehouse. In other words they bust their butt during the week at the store and then come out to the field and bust their tail more. On top of that ... the teams also help out during work weekends at the field to build/construct things and help out with tasks such as hanging netting. And most of these guys do this for nominal sponsorship such as free tournament paint and discounted practice paint and deals on clothing. They pay their own PSP or NPPL tournament entry fees in some cases.
Better teams like Justice (not to knock the other teams) have additional sponsors and they represent them well by displaying their logos in prominent magazines. Evil and VL have to be thrilled with Justice. Anytime you see a Justice photo, there's also a picture of a Pevs sticker, and Evil and Viewloader equipment and their logos. They're representing these companies well.
To get sponsored, even initially, you have to bring something to the table other than just a few mediocre finishes in the PTS. That's a great start and a great foundation to build on. (As most of the DC Dev guys were playing in the PTS last year or the year before). That being said you and your team need to go beyond that. What do you have to offer the sponsors ... because keep in mind, sponsorship is a business. If it's lucrative to them, they'll hop on it.
I'm not sure if I should be posting this but I'm fortunate enough that Todd was kind enough to hook me up with some discounts at the store. In part I think it's due to the fact that I've dropped in the neighborhood of $10K in the last 18-24 mos at the store and that I drop around $100 a week on paint in there. I also have referred upwards of 100-200 people to the proshops for gear and misc items. I hold group games 2 or 3 times a year of around 100+ of my coworkers that puts upwards of $2000 in revenue into their coffers from the field fees alone. Add in their paint sales at 1 case per person and that totals roughly $5000! Do this 6 times and you have upwards of $30-40,000.
This doesn't include the private groups I play with in the spring and fall that come out 2 times a month and have 25-30 people. These guys were playing at Hogback and Skyline until I got em turned on to Pevs courtesy of a few free play passes someone gave me. One time out and they were hooked. Quality fields, quality staff, quality owners. Done deal. As a result, that's another $2000 per weekend these guys provide with field fees and paint which they all buy from Pevs.
Pev and Todd are extremely generous with their sponsorship/endorsement but others are going to take more effort entirely. Heck my IAO team was the Intimidator Owners group and we didn't get anything until AFTER we won the division. (At which time Terry from BLAST, totally hooked the team up...as he's a classy guy like that.) My suggestions to you bro:
1) Make a resume. List your and your team's qualifications, your placements, standings, etc. Keep a brief vita and make it professional. MS Word has an elegant resume template that can help you with this. Don't make it too wordy...summarize and hit the high points.
2) Refrain from sending emails, posting to internet forums and sending unsolicited mail to large vendors until you have more regional or national experience under your belt. They'll just get ignored.
3) Make friends/contacts with people in the industry. Get known and get face time with people that can connect you. You'll get more business done with handshakes and smiles than with letters. As a manager in my day job, the vast majority of the people I hire and the business decisions I make are done face to face or with a handshake and a smile. This is the way to get things accomplished.
4) Study harder in school, those english and grammar classes you take in school are useful. Punctuation and capitalization help reinforce to sponsors that you can articulate yourself in a reasonably coherent manner. If I were a sponsor looking at teams to support financially, I can tell you I'd have gone right by this post because to me the lack of sentence structure, poor spelling and piss poor grammar indicates to me that you're young, immature and not willing to take the time to correctly post for sponsorship, which means you're not going to be willing to take the time to represent us well after you get it. It's all in the details. What you do in the little things you'll do in the big things.
5) Think small, then big. Go with small sponsors first. Try to hit singles when it comes to getting initial sponsors, don't try for the grand slam home run. It just ain't gonna happen!
Keep these things in mind as you try to get some sponsors to hook you up! Good luck on the endeavor!

Thanks Lopez....lol. You saved me a crap load of typing.
Seriously Dirt, take what he said to heart, to many people out there think exactly the way he described it "I play paintball and I play tournaments so give me". It’s B.S.
Anybody that falls into that list of player is slum player in my book. That’s the player that gives you, Lopez, me and anybody else like us a bad name. Get out there and bust your arse for someone and you will see rewards soon enough.
I will put this in your ear as well, if all you get is an O-ring for sponsorship, as crap as it may be, be freaking happy for it and show your gratitude. Don’t fall in to the stereotypical player and live by the slogan my sponsor and myself joke about:
Q: "How many paintballer’s does it take to change a light bulb?"
A: "Who is giving me the light bulb?"
Be motivated to get it yourself first then you will see someone else wanting to help out.
If you have any question, you want something proofed before you send it in, ask me, I will lend my hand where I can, I am sure Lopez would be glad to as well.

Convenient that paintball.com has a good article about this today on their feature page.
http://paintball.com/features/story.cfm?placementID=3302&aid=2247&clickon=DB
Although it basically says what some very intelligent people have already wrote on here, you may want to read it and the articles linked to it.
BTW we have a local kids team that is now sponsored by the local store because they have shown a willingness to help and have put the store's stickers on their hoppers, worn t-shirts advertising the store and have had good results in local tournaments. They have done all of this for about a year and now its paying off for them. It takes a little time so be patient and learn from those who have been in the sport a long time.
Hope it helps.

Remember Stickers, Banners, put in in your signatures. I am sure Pevs sells the gear, if so send people to buy it and tell them to tell Pevs that you sent them so they see you are helping out.
Just a few ideas to run with

Now what you have to do is WIN some major tournies and represent them all you can. You could prolly get National to help you out say that you are holding a tourny and you want to represent National and they will give you alot of free stuff Maybe.
