Im not sure when next team practice is but the field is open every saturday and sunday from 10 to 5 on saturday and 11 to 5 on sunday come out all the people who run the field also play on the team including yours truly so come out and let us know that you are intrested in playing for us and we will see what can be done. The field is in Powhatan it is Paintball Authoritys field if you want to see some pix go to the othere thread of Ultimate Air coming to Richmond that is our home field which we happen to also run and reff. We sent a 3 man to Action town sports's tourny today and we went undefeated all day. I didnt even take a single hit all day at the end of the day we took first place with a score of 1180 second came in with 500!! Thats how you AUTHORITIZE.

Well its a multi day tourny today was day 3 of 6 and we were playing Amature. But at the end first place wins Impulses alot of good that does me since i already own one and just got my Eye on but its all good i can always use it for back up.

iv played about 2 years. is that enough experience? i got a eh uhhhhh i guess you could say low end gun. does that matter? i can still rock with it. besides theres no diference between most gun besides price tag and maybe rate of fire.

Anyone intrested in trying out for Paintball Authoritys 5 Man B team is welcomed to come out and try out. We are also thinking about starting a Junior team for kids 17 and under to play in local tournys. We have a sponsership and we have our own field with a brand new Ultimate Air field. Im getting a model 98c and im gona turn it into a speed ball/up front gun. i plan for a 12in barrell of some sort, RT, drop forward, revy hopper. Do i need aneything else?

Why are you going with a M98 i mean they are really reliable guns and all but they arent great for speedball and upfront they are just to long and hard to use. Now in the woods they are great but not out on a field. In that price range i would recommend the Black Dragun is alot more compact it takes ALL spyder mods plus they have electronic triggers on them. Now if you are set on getting a M98 I currently have them on sale for 149.99 and LIFE TIME warranty as long as you keep you keep your reciept.Give me a call if your intrested 804-897-9030

massiveheadwound- you will understand when you start playing tournament fields and tournament teams why M98's arnt acceptable, but there great for woods but not the speedball field, now i have seen tricked out spyders that work pretty great, just get alot of mods, there was that one team that had spyders at the WC, and they beat quite a few good teams, i think they beat avalanche, not sure

get a spyder, or black dragun, and get an LPR mod, new bolt, drop forward, anti-syphon tank and your good to go

Dont sugest anything to me unless it is something for a Tippmann. By the way you can get things for a tippmann to make it a pefict speed ball marker.:devil:. Also it's not all the gun it's the player.

the only reason tippmanns arnt the best is because there long guns, but anyone with two cents in their head and a trigger finger can play paintball with any gun. now anyone whos good can plya paintball WELL with anygun. money cant buy skill and a gun wont make up for skill either. so far my tippmann has served me well. spyders f*** up too much. i bought an extra and wheni took it outof the box the macroline had a leak and you cant get them over 260 in cold weather without cuttinglinks but then your screwed in warm weather.

spyders are too much of a hassel just to save an inchon gun length. besides spyders have rea cockers which makes it longer then my tippy.

tippmanns for me man. only gun under 500 that works well!!

but dude it's just my opinion (and justin's). so who cares anyway.

no ,my best friend had a tippman and after six months it was trash and they are un consistent as hell which leads to horible acuraccy and if you are good you can ply whith any gun but a gun does help beloieve me ive had a spyder acocker and my timmi and have played whith every gun there is ,and for 500 id rather have an impulse

I have had my tippmann for over a year and i still love it and it is almost bone stock(It's alot older than that i bought it used) . all parts are original except i have a Flatline(which are the best) and a dropforward. :)

Sorry guys but you can NEVER make a Tippman a perfect speedball gun EVER.You can make them nice and somewhat accurate but they will never fit in on a hyperball field or Ultimate air.Now a spyder can find a home out on the concept fields. Tippys are very dependable but you sacrafice alot of the quickness in snap shooting and the ability to tuck in tight like is VERY NECCESARY for speedball.

My 3 man team lost a player due to him being a ****. So now we are left with just 2 people. I shoot (now) a 2k Shocker and my friend shoots a Cocker. We are a great duo. With his great back playing skills he can pin down like 2-3 people himself and allow me to bunker them. Sometimes in one run. But we are looking for a team in the NORTHERN Virginia range. Around leesburg and baicly just loudoun county. Thanks

The problem with the flatline is that it is a small bore barrel so if you put large bore practice paint in it ( wal-mart or seconds) its going to eat it up all day long. That thing will only shoot right ith marbs and JT's and such thats why most people dont like it I would personaly recommend a JnJ Cermaic first

This team that you spoke of, Punk-Sk8er , is Bad Company, who practice regularly at OA in Bowie, Maryland. Bad Company gets payed roughly 4000 (per person) every game they win with theiy Xtra's w/ Centerflag gripframes... This doesn't make Kingman good at all. Kingman is terrible, in it for the money. That would explain their offset ASA's, and the breaking plastic elbows ,that only they make, for the Xtra and the EM1... What you don't know about BC... in between every game at world cup (which they did place respectively fourth...) they had to replace their sears and hammers, due to accesive wearing on both, crappy spyders...

cheese master3 : About the tippmanns, you're wrong. Tippmann is a consistent, and durable gun. I'd say it would be a toss up between the Tippys or the Automag for strongest most durable gun. BTW, if your friend can't upkeep a tippmann, he should be holding a paintball gun for the good of the world and his health. Also, I bet I can name 10 guns you haven't shot, some you haven't heard of...

From there, you kinda' went off track. The Tippmann Flatline is actually an off the chart large bore barrel, with rollouts with any paint in Pevs Rockville store. The thing about the Flatline, is that in order for it to shoot straight (or, generally shoot period...), the ball has to roll along the top of the barrel to creat the backspin affect. If you're using a low quality paint (32* Comps, Zap, Rec Sport, 911, Premium...) then you will get oddballs, and you won't shoot nicely. That said, nearly any RPS paint, and a lot of the Diablo line will work like a charm through a Flatline... Prob with flatline, long, fat, long, curves when put to the side (good luck playing a small front bunker or a snake...)....

And Andrew, for 500, the tippmann would be my last choice. When you get 500, the following may become available if you look hard enough in the right places:

-Shockers
-Impulses
-Angel LEDs
-Custom (thaz right, even STO's) Cockers
-RT Mags (GOD they fricking SUCK, MAGS SUCK!!!!!!)
-Matrix (look HARD, they're there)
-Intimidators
-Fixable LCDs (I promise you they're out there...)
-Vapor or other custom Bushys (btw, do your local proshop a favor, don't buy a stock bushy....)
-Soverign, one of the many guns Cheesemaster 3 has never shot
-Palmer Typhoon
-Palmer Strokker
-Palmer Blazer (Cheese, betcha' never shot a Palmer gun :) )

all in all, if you gave me 500 and I had to get another gun (as opposed to a tank and a few boomies...), I'd prolly end up with either an Intimidator or an Impulse with a tank and Freak...

I would like to say taht KrazyAsian is correct I had heared that about the tippman hat you could only shoot high end paint but the reason that i had been given was incorrect what Krazy Asian says makes more sense and he is correct. Either way it cuase you to shoot expensive paint every time. tippmanns with rt's are a can of spay paint. even though you can adjust it right to like 11-12 bps, which is normal for not chopping with a tippmann, IT WILL STILL CHOP LIKE MAD, no lies here.

massiveheadwound just believes too much publicity, you prolly just look at ads saying "tippmanns are the best, tippmans are great, there the most accurate" and so on. i cant belive the crap thats out there on the market, tippmanns are getting more untrue stuff than they are worth. i used a tippmann in a senario game once, called dein bein phu. i quit playing because it was sooo inaccurate. yes it had a freak, nitro,direct feed,double trigger, centerflag reg lp reg, psycho ballistics delrin bolt, yes it looked cool, i do say that, but i just quit. and i was using marbs! bore size in barel was .689! the blue one!:eek:

i have never used Marbs. i used like 150 JTs but hey shot the same as the $45 paint i like

I haven't found that the Tippmanns are bad speed ball (or aney other game types) guns.

I like a gun with some weight and size. i dont feel like im gona brake it if it bumps into a tree or a bunker.

when i had my tippi (a long time ago) it was good,

-tufff that gun's only strong point was is durability and reliability, i could shott it w/ a twelve gauge and it would still be cool, it shot just like any other gun but it was

-inconsistant(even w/ nitro and reg)

-huge
-heavy
-had kick like a mofo
-loud as all hell
-flatline is the worst barrel ever, it shreads paint and do go of sayin i used bad paint cause i went from marbs to big ball and everything broke and don't gimme this 'i didn't install it right cause i did it and asked pevs if i did it right and they said it was fine, flatlines are a joke

I started several months ago with a tippmann and used it to play speedball at pevs. Worked ok with me, though it was kinda long and definitely heavy. Accuracy and all that was ok, didnt have the rt or the flatline. Overall I still like it and have it, I didnt go out and get a new gun because i thought it was too long or whatever. But, now I'm running with a pretty new impulse and i'm definitely happier. I still suck, but i'm definitely happier (you're right its just preference).

i havent had any bad experiences with my tippy. the spyder is a back up in case my tippy spontianiuosly combusts or melts because the earth ran into the sun. we all know tippmanns dont need back ups anyway.

no gun is more accurate than another it's how well the paint fits the barrel and your air system.

you people have too much money and too much free time to sit on your *** and nit pick over every little detail. if the gun is long then i stand and inch or so farther away from the bunker. Problem solved! To me thats not a good enough reason to blow 1000 dollars on a "high end" set up just because it's an inch shorter. You guys think too much about the gun instead of the player behind it.

This is not something i wana fight about. If you think tippys are completely useless come to pevs this sunday. Il show you how well a tippy can perform when it is put in the right hands.

you're absolutely right, a sucky player with an Angel will not beat Chris Lasoya with a Talon... A gun will not make you good, but can very possibly KEEP you from becoming good. IE, going to bunker someone, and stabbing the bunker with your 3 foot long gun (no exageration, a tippy with a flatline and a 20 ounce tank can near 3 feet, my tippy had a 16" SP AA and a 24 ouncer...) when you go to bunker someone is gonna' discourage you from attempting a bunker move ever again. Andrew, standing farther back from the bunker will expose your pack and your back to more bunkers. Plus, we don't buy nice expensive guns for their length, I mean, Cheese Master's Intimidator is quite long itself (no offense, I LOVE intimidators, after the LED, I'm gonna' get one m'self). There are certain things that a cocker will offer that a Tippmann just won't do...

I am game Sunday.... I didn't see you last time, but I will this time, you might have seen me, riding Tad's bike around and taking tad for spins in the wheel barrel... Tad is Lisa's (lisa is the lady who works in the shack) 6-7 year old son. He's a pretty funny kid, and I'd be amazed if he didn't end up being a REALLY good paintball player some day. yes iv shot mags and cockers. cant really tell the diference in range and accuracy because there isnt any. and since i dont like to shoot 50 shots a second (i believe in something called "efficiency") my tippmann works fine. i have money for a cocker but i dont see any point in buying it so shut up already.

Well first, I was only at the shack for 5 minutes filling like, 3 20ounce Co2 tanks. Second, Victor said I could have a free burger and who the hell am I to turn down that. Also, I did get my 'lard ***' out and played with Mission. The reason you don't know that is because you played walkons all day. Addtionally, I've only been playing for all of maybe 2 years. I think I remember you saying something about having 2-3 years of experience... The team with the 'expensive' guns was Team Relentless Attack. They seem to love Indian Creek Designs guns. If you knew the first thing about eletros, you'd know that the ICD bushmaster 3 of them shoot suck. The last 3 shot Alley Cats. Those are NOT expensive guns... ICD bushys are the cheap entrance towards electros, and you pay for what you get, a cheap electro. I didn't sit in the shack for more than 5 minutes, and only had one burger, which I know you had one at least so don't lie about that Bull$hit...

And, you claim to not be new, so I can give you a hard time without worrying about discouraging a new player :rolleyes: When was the last time YOU fixed a newbies gun? I will take you up on your 1 for 1 offer sooner or later, I'm really a team player, not the kinda' top gun lover like Alex Fraige... TPScaptain (Andrew) I am not going to burn you for using a Tippman. I say more power to you if you can compete on a tournament level with a Tippman...however, once you get at a higher level of tournement play. Novice or higher, the Tippman will not cut it. You may deny it now, but as you gain more knowledge and experience you will understand. For example a person I play with used a Tippman for awhile in tournament play...then once he got to a certain level he couldnt compete...not because his ability to play (he is much better than me), but because a stock tippman isn't going to cut it against an Angel LCD when the two people are roughly equal skill levels. The tippman player might be able to get the LCD owner a couple times but certainly the majority of the wins will go to the LCD. Well back to the story, The Tippman guy couldn't compete so he went and bought an E-bolt for it. The E-bolt went great for him. At that level of play (Decent Rookie teams), the E-bolt tippman was fine, but when the competition stepped up he could still use his E-bolt for a little. But it wasn't keeping up with his playing ability. For example he would borrow other peoples guns and easily average 2 kills a game (In 5 man speedball that is quite good if you can do it consistantly), but then he would get back to his E-bolt and avg about one a game (still good but 2 is double 1). He recently bought an Angel LCD and he rips people in half. His gun can keep up with his game unlike the Tippman.

That was all long I know but Im just giving TPS a heads up that eventually he will want to upgrade his gun and he will realize that soon enough.

surely to god everyone is going to upgrade their guns, whether its parts or the gun itself. it's the only way to keep up with the compition. if you go through a rookie division with a tippman do you think it would suffice through novice and amateur.....i don't think so. you have to upgrade the gun with your skill level. its why newbies don't shoot angels and pro's don't shoot stingrays. and i think it's much more enjoyable to shoot an angel than a tippman, maybe i'm just a weakling, but none-the-less....

Ok since you seem to be having some trouble I will try to teach you a thing or two...

First off you did not even say who your post was directed towards, I am guessing it was to my post but it is a good idea for you to say who your replying to.

If your asking a question, then yes I think players are capable of using better guns when they get to higher tournament play. Are you saying that when people get better at paintball they become unable to use Angels, because that is the way your sentence is written. Obviously your a moron.

Unless your Tippman is made of glass or something, a gun isn't more fragile then another. A gun may be more prone to problems than another but that has nothing to do with it being fragile or not. Even if an impulse were more fragile than an Angel what was the purpose of your sentence, it does not have anything to do with your previous sentence. It does not support it in any way. In the previous sentence you wrote something about tournament play and players ability to use guns, in the next sentence you wrote a sentence concerning the fragility of an Angel vs. an Impulse.

Fourth off how old are you? Your english is horrible. fragle is not a word (unless you were relating paintball markers to the Fragle rock guys), I believe you meant fragile. aneymore is also not a word, you intended to use the word anymore. ovious is ALSO not a word, the intended your you tried to use but failed oh so horribly was obvious.

ummm... Angels are maybe the exact opposite. I and everyone I work and play with agree, that the angel is probobly the one gun that if you leave alone, just oil and clean, will work like new. $hit like Bushys, Mags, hell even Cockers I'll admit even though I have/love one.... those guns will **** up, the cocker will go out of timing eventually... it's just a matter of fuc|<heads screwing around with their guns. It is difficult to say which guns are more or less prone then other guns. I tend to believe that problems are 80% user caused. I belive the Autococker is one if not the most reliable marker out there, the large majority of people that cant stand cockers are those that don't know how to deal with them. More knowledgable players have theirs shooting fine all the time. I see a lot of Cockers not working at the field I play at because of use error, but I also see a lot of Angels not working at my field because of user error, I also see a lot of Angels that work perfectly. So all that nonsense summed up is all guns (maybe not all...) work fine. Its the user he messes them up.

Guys, guys, Massiveheadwound is just some poor kid who has no experience playing. He probably has about a years experience if not less? We all used to stereotype cockers and angels because of the brainwashing internet.... Hell I used to say cockers are unreliable! You know what, it is the most reliable gun out there that will still shoot after dragging it through a mud puddle. (slight exageration) I remember reading up on all these guns on the net and all these reviews. To be honest with you, the internet can be the worst thing for newbies. It gives out the worst false info.

if i were you id get an anti-syphon tube in that 20oz if you dont have one, then get a blade trigger, and a VFF for that gun, and when you get some more cash get a delrin bolt, your impulse will be rockin, and the best place to get your stuff from is www.e-paintballoutlet.com because no matter what anyone says the impulse is not that great of a gun out of the box, but with some upgrades it holds up to an angel on performance

If you dont have a vision, dont bother.

you dont need vision to have the I-frame, just turn down your ROF to like 10bps and you will never chop anyway, oh and another thing, for you to get vision it would cost around 200 because you have a pre-release imp

what did you decide to do? keep the imp, or sell it and save up for a new one? id sell it and save up for a new style imp, there much better, and when you get a new imp make sure you get vision, its really a great upgrade

Mark on our team just got a I-frame. It is unbelievable how fast it is. It is a non-Vision and you have to be constantly monitoring how fast you shoot, so you don't chop.

Yeah the I-Frame is really nice, but it is highly recommended you get a vision if you are going for the I-Frame. Otherwise get a Blade Trigger. Only $20 and it is still really nice. The most important Imp upgrades are VFF (voodoo full flow), Blade Trigger and a new bolt (Voodoo Delrin's are nice). Total it is only like $110 bucks and makes your gun very nice compared to the 360 dollars of the I-Frame and Vision. Even if you do get I-Frame the VFF is absolutely ESSENTIAL.

The stock cockers are very nice these days one of the few things on it that really needs to be changed is the barrel. I would also recomend a Regulator.Compressed Air and Nitrogen are the same thing when your talking about what we put in or HPA tanks.Right now we have the stock Cockers in my store and they look really nice and we also have the ANS Gen-X 3's those are bad BUT they cant touch the 3 DYE cockers we have. We just got a Ultra-Light Silver Dusted Dye cocker it is the NICEST paintball gun I have ever seen and they are REALLY light.

mags arnt that great, i wouldnt recommend one, and the classic mags are ugly, there making a new body for them though, might be something to wait for if you want a mag, but the main reason i dont like mags is because its a HP gun, thats just about the only and main reason why i dont like them, cockers are great guns out of the box

oh and the I-frame is great, if your thinking about getting one on a stock impulse go for it, all you need to do is turn your ROF down to 10bps and you will never chop again, you dont need to waste money on a vision unless you got the money, and Fom did a test when people walked into his store, they shot the blade trigger 5bps faster then the stock trigger, and the I-frame 1bps faster then the blade, so your not getting much of a performance upgrade, but its so comfortable its worth the money

another great gun to look into is an intimidator, the eye is pretty nice on that thing, and its stock

I went to the big game, well i def had to go cause i am a ref at vag,but thank god there were pevs refs cause there were 400 people... it was crazy,the downside of it was that it was hot and i had to get there at like 7:45 to help my boss and the rest of pevs staff set up... o well i got free air free lunch and discounts on paint and free play...lol...i kinda felt bad though for the pink team cause my team(the yellow team) slaughtered them in 2 games... one of which i ran the flag back in the very first game...god did i feel like i was gonna die after that one!!! haha... but VAg will be hosting another big game in a few months, i encourage a lot of people to come out and play...

So, that was you running with the flag. I had just re-entered the game when you came running up. Heavy sigh; my only complaint were the hills. During the third game (I was yellow, too), my group went back with Hammer (ref with the horns on his mask) to the false start area, then down to the road, fought through the firefight in the village, up to the speedball course, over to the Pink Flag area, back down to the road, back up to the village, over to the start area and back to the village, where we held out against the last few Pink guys. Ughhh... It was toasty. By the end of the day several of us were down to Tshirts and shorts and showing a few bruises :-)

I heard 360+ people showed up. So a pretty good showing. I want to head back out to VAG to try out their speedball course. Looked pretty nice. 'cept for that scummy pond...
