[Major newbie question here]
I've heard references to a certain tactic in paintball called a "push" but I've yet to read a helpful explanation of it. Can anyone explain this for me? I'd like to implement it into my soon-to-be-a-team-but-still-are-kind-of-like-newbies's strategy list.
Thanks.

a push is basically a rush of sorts. your team is pushing up the feild, going from bunker to bunker. usually done when there's only a few guys on the other team.

a push is where u go up to the guy and instead of bunkering u push him over:P
actually its when u move up and ur back guys move up too
a push occurs when u have the same amount as the dealer ;)

alright forget what uve heard heres what a push really is. Lets go through a typical game. See in tourny style speed ball everyone moves to their respective bunkers off the break. The front players keep low and try to take as much as they can while the back players pound away at where they think the other guys r gonna go. After a little bit of this things calm down. People start talking and calling positions. Maybe snaping off a few quick shots. At this point maybe one person a side is gone pretty equal (In a 5 man game of course.) Once everyone knows where everyone else is people start shooting for eliminations. Front players make their secondary moves hoping to get a better shot. Now after a little bit in this stage one side will most likely have a man advantage like 4 on 2 or 5 on3 or 5 on 2, something like that. (This team is usually the better what we call "technical team" which means their techniques are superior.) At this point in the game the stronger team coordinates what we so affectionatly call a push. The back players hammer out as much paint as they can and the front players try to bunker out the remaining players. This is a push. Basically everybody makes an all out make it or break it attack.

Nice explanation, frontguy. I'm sure many here will benefit from your words.

At just about any time a push could come.
Usually our back player will step out and call attention to himself depending on the distance. Now this causes all the guys on the other side to think, "look an easy elimination!" and they all start firing at him trying to take him out. Meanwhile, our front guys are taking out their guys that are poping up as fast as they can, calling out any hits and as soon as the momentum swithes to our side, we make big moves while the back player starts pinning them down again.
Works just about every time.
The secret is communication and knowing when to start this up.
Once you figure out this tatic, you can control the pace of the game and maintain the momentum.

yea our team runs a fill offense
basically hwat a fill offense is is ull have ur front man try to hit the snake mid in bunkers behind him and back in a stand up or a rolly. then when the back man issues the command he yells fill witch signals the front man to either move up on there secondary move and bunker the other teams remaining players, then the mid fills in either to the snake or just simply advances foward keeping as much pressure ont he other team as possible, ur back man just keeps filling in the buckers behing the mid hopefully ull end up getting some bunkers...
some advice if u want ur front to buncker someone shoot on the side ur man is comiung from so he peeks out the other side of the buncker so he cant see the front man coming to mess his @$$ up. goodluck
