Probably have an overall goal of being able to reach several market segments in the paintball market. There are many different types of paintballers, and they are positioning themselves well to meet these demands.
K2 is big into all "extreme" sports, and paintball is just another one to them.

I sure hope that this isn't gonna start putting Wal-Mart versions of cockers on the shelves.

Won't happen. K2 will position WGP as a premium brand, to be sold through existing paintball-related channels and perhaps specialty stores.
Besides, if anything WGP-branded were to be sold in WalMart, it'd be some version of their now-defunct Ranger line of Spyder clones.

Yeah, Its not like your seeing K2 surfboards on walmart shelfs... They wouldn't do something like that.. It would kill the name.

They don't sell any kind of surfboard at my Wal-Mart, though there's not much surfboarding to be done in WI. But they do have K2 skiing/skating gear. I just don't know...

Retract that statement, they are doing ok right now, last time I checked the stock market, they were not doing very well. Now they are doing ok, but only time will tell what is to come. What we must look at is the fact that they just bought Woor Games, which could be good or bad.... K2 also owns Brass Eagle, JT and some other companies.... basicly a bunch of outdoors stuff. They do snowboards, tenis, and also golf, just stuff like that. They are truly becoming the next giant in the paintball world if you ask me...... I dont like that. We dont need giants in the PB world, (as Smart Parts has shown alot of people), but K2 is here to make alot of $$$$$ Smart Parts may not have been a bad choice after all......

I doubt if your average Wal-mart shopper would even buy a cocker, they're too expensive. Look at everything else Wally-World carries; bottom of the line cheap junk. Even if they went as cheap as they possibly could on all the parts, I doubt a cocker could be made that would retail for much less than $250. Wal-mart caters to the beginner who doesn't even know there is a paintball store in his/her area; those people don't usually buy nice guns.
