Hi, i was wondering, i was looking at an icon electro as a decent backup to my defiant. I was wondering how upgradeable this gun is. What upgrade parts does it take, spyder, cocker, ect. I really would like to know if ppl have any pics of their Icon's, tricked out of course, and what upgrades they put into them, and how much they like the gun. I am really psyched about getting this gun, and i would really like to know what upgrades to put into it, what upgrade parts work in it, spyder, ect., and if anyone has any pics. that would be great, but plz include a descrition of what upgrades are in the gun plz.

Thanks

I have an Icon. I dont have any upgrades but I do know it takes Spyder threads, so I assume most spyder upgrades will work on it. As for the grip being waterproof I am not sure, I havent tested that and dont really want to. I suppose that if the grip isnt tightened down enough or wires are making it bluge then water can get through between the grip and grip cover. And if you are just getting the regular Icon then water can get through the whole in the grip cover that is used to access the dip switch. Also there us a spot to recharge the battery (if you use a rechargable one) and i think water can get in there also. As for making it waterproof, i dont really know what to do, duct tape maybe?

First off don't double let alone triple post

and you also need to chill out, take time and let other people post too.

i have the icon e and it's a great backup, first gun, or even just a cheap gun.

I got tons of upgrades and now i can comepete with a autococker even.

The handle isn't water proof but it's a great gun overall(including the price). :D

ok, now that we figured out the icon, how bout the rebel?? ANyone like that gun, it's cheap 59 bucks, and is it a good gun?? I mean, as a woodsball or backup? I think it takes spyder parts right? Umm......lemme know what u think of the rebel. Is there any model in vertical feed? Is there any converter for vertical feed?? Is powerfeed better then vertical feed? It might be, but i really wanna know bout the rebel and what ppl think of it, wether it's worth it or not!!!!

which gun wud u guyz buy a 32 degrees icon or a spyder imagine?

mxsx125

imagine....it's a sypder, not a rip off spyder.....lol. All 32 degrese did was take a new milling and use spyder parts....go for the 115 bucks it costs for the 2k3 imgaine and get it....it performs just as well as the icon but it's an actual spyder.....i'm gunna pick one up....in black...def. seems worth it...ppl say it doesn't leak and is a very reliable gun...i heard from a few ppl who have icon's that they leak a lot....go with the spyder, not the wanna-be spyder!!!!! SRY all u icon users...but this is how i feel after shooting two icon's last weekend...they were crap!!!

I had a Icon once. It looked to be pretty well made, and once I got the trigger adjusted it shot pretty fast for a spyder clone.

I have the Icon E, early version, and it does seem to work pretty good as a starter gun. Do a few customizations, and it will really rip. All mods that you can do to a slim striker spyder can be done to the Icon. I have mine set to run low pressure, and it will keep up with an ebladed cocker for the most part, just without the perfect shot to shot consistency in velocity, but I might get that fixed with compressed air and a better regulator.

My mods are:

Stock Icon E
Spudnuck'l low preasure bolt
polished striker (free mod)
rocket valve
front block bored for higher flow (free mod)
4" low pressure chamber
trigger adjusted and spring removed (free mod)
IS switch
T-board with break-beam eye
CP barrel kit
War Pig inline regulator
Madman spring kit
Evolution II loader
CO2 with anti-siphon (compressed air tank is next)

My opperating pressure is about 400-450 psi with the purple hammer spring. Running CO2, I still find that I can shoot ropes at this pressure because the CO2 will only drop to about 500psi when it cools off.

As for leaking, I played all day with it yesterday in mild rain. When I got home, I pulled the grip frame apart, and there wasn't any water in there despite horrible gaps between the grips and the frame.

If you are thinking about getting an electronic spyder or clone, I would put a vote out for the icon with its superior ball detent (the icon uses the cocker detent which is used on the intimidator as well as other markers).

As far as looks go, my marker isn't going to any beauty contests on account of the wires running to the eye and the PVC pipe tall stack feed neck, but I built it to compete with, not look pretty. Maybe I will get a pic up for you.
