SWEET NEW FIELD IN Central VA

Played on a new field today in Fluvanna, VA. The field is called Lake Paintball. Top notch setup top notch guys running it. The owner of the field also owns Valley Surplus in Harrisonburg VA, and Ruckersville VA. He was a pro player and said he wanted to setup a pro field and he has setup a damn nice one. I dont have pics for the woodsball fields but from what I understand its damn nice also. Heres some pics of the Airball field. Field fee is basically 15 dollars for all day air....with paint prices being as good or better than most shops...going from 45-60 dollars. The field also allows you to BYOP...so if youre in the central VA area....louisa, Richmond, Lynchburg, Charlottesville come check out the field its run very professionally and its by far the best field in Central VA Second ONLY to PEVS in VA as far as air ball fields go. I played there today as well. It's one bad *** field. Very professionally run. Quite a few good players there as well. The pace was pretty quick. Butcher and I probably got in close to 12 games in, with plenty of people there(around 40 or so). The field setup is great. It may look spread out in the pics but it really isn't. You can easily move from bunker to bunker if you time it right. I usually don't work the snake since I play back but I had an absolutely blast doing it. Just don't get caught sleeping or someone is gonna get you. 15 minutes from my house makes it all the better. The prices really can't get any better either.

Come out and check out the field....very nice and run very well.... Ill have some directions up this evening.

Well good for you...it will be your loss...nothing more. A field without someone pissing on about the owner is a field that will be better off anyway.
As for his playing pro guess you wouldnt know if you spend all your time bad mouthing him....but enough about that.

guys Im going to scan in a picture of directions to the field after you reach 64 and Ill run some directions off of streets and tips and post those as well....just gimme a little time to get everything done.

As for the field...its a true Ten man field but he has it split on one end so that he can run smaller three man games on one end of it. But it only takes a few minutes to instantly turn it into a true Ten man airball field. There only one for now but he does have bigger plans for the field if it does as well as we all think it is going to do. Ill get some good directions up soon so keep checking back.
for the woods guys as I said before he has a nice setup for that as well....more info coming soon. Just want to make sure the right stuff is up.

As for directions I was going to try and copy and paste a screen shot from Streets and tips but I figured it would be a pain in the but.....
so here goes.
If youre coming from Richmond, VA
you would get on 64 west heading towards Charlottesville, VA. Both 295 and I95 run directly into it.....
you stay on 64west until you get to louisa county, Zion Crossroads Exit.
after getting off on that exit you would want to take a left on route 15.
after getting on route 15 you will need to go about 4 or 5 miles until you get to the SECOND turn on the right for rt644 and from there you will see and need to follow the signs for the field. The reason I say the second 644 is because there is a earlier turn on on 15 that says 644. So look to turn on the 644 that also has the street name Friendship Rd. From there just follow the signs to the field.
The field is about 45 minutes from richmond and about a hour 15 minutes from lynchburg. and about 30 minutes from charlottesville. As for dumfries VA you would need to come by way of richmond and get to 64 west to charlottesville and then follow the directions above. From lynchburg you simply take 29north to 64 east to Richmond and get off on the zion crossroads exit and take a RIGHT and follow the directions above.

The field hours are 9am to pretty much until everyone is tired of playing.

no they dont have a website up yet....
as for the only field....hes going to put another indoor field the same size in harrisonburg VA for year round play. So basically a seven man/ten man indoor field that should open sometime this summer. So year round playing with good rates and well run setups...w00t.
I would like to mention that the games dont run with too few refs the refs ARE on top of things and you WILL get chronied every time you leave and come back on the field. So no hot shooting....
no but its the main...theres a woods field and a small three man beside this one....it just opened this weekend..and theres IS more to come....

i was there on sunday it was pretty sweet, most ppl were much better than me but i had a blast. this past weekend was the first weekend for the field thats why you had never heard of it......but Im hoping that it is going to take off because of its location, great fees, and the way its run.

Props to Rudy and the boys from Valley on what looks like a great field. We are happy to see the sport grow. As for the folks on hear that seem to spread hate remember this. What is good for our sport is good for us all.

1st things 1st Rudy played for that Pro team out of Maryland, maybe u've heard of them minifag, they're name is Bad Company. Don't hate man cuz Rudy is a great guy and you wanna hold a grudge over somethin that happened years ago.

More importantly Rudy's new field is that bomb. I reffed and played this weekend (was wearin BJ's Team Strange jersey) and it was a great time. Rudy runs things very professionally and knows what he's doing. His main concern is that all customers have a SAFE and FUN experience in paintball. All the props in the world to Rudy

From what I understand seven man is in the plans for sure....you can get seven guys on this field but a couple may bite the dust earlier if the lanes are being shot well off the break...

PROPS TO RUDY AND THE WHOLE GANG AT LAKE!!!!played there today with 4 other friends and had a f'n' blast,the field was rearranged since last week,we got in somewhere in the 20 game range 4-5 or so in a row most of the time unless everyone needed to break.reffing was top notch.great playing with everyone there today.everyone played great,honestly,and the sportsmanship from everyone was excellent.it was like a problem free ,friendly,mucho fun,organized tournament.....how often does that happen?and it was only rec ball!!!!i reccomend this field highly to players of any experience level,you owe it to yourselves to check it out.see yall in a week or two,lata.

Yo! Alright this feild had it's problems. like the fact that it doesn't have a full sercive pro shop or a complete bufet at it ;-);-) Just kidding

The place was awesome. Refs were great and had just as good of a time as the players it looked like. the registration was pain free and the all day CO2 is sweet. The staging area is still developing from what I heard but tables, well spools, around the feild so you can watch and work on you equip(most setup in the parking lot) and the target range is very useful for testing and chrono. but as far as feilds go... I spooged. I'd never had so much fun playing back or fire fighting with teams like invasion and rush. This place is more then a paintball feild. lol jesus bring the whole family out and have a picnic lmao. Props! I'll definately be back. oh what up monkey?

Glad to see everybody is haveing sooo much fun. Thats the way everybodys paintball experience should be. IM also glad to see that all the new players and experienced players are mixing together so well. And everybody is keeping a positive attitude. We have some big plans for this field as well as the other. Cant wait for that one either.

WOW! Thanks to all for coming out the past two weeks! The response has been more than anticipated. I'll try to answer some questions:
First, we have one field area netted at this time(100'x200') We have it broken down and seperated by a removeable curtain(net) so that we can have a three man and a five man running at the same time. We also have woods ball if you like that.
Second, the MOB is always welcome at our field. Moan, give me a yell sometime and we can set up a practice.
Third, if you are on Int64, just take exit136 and go south on rt15. You WILL see the signs about 6.5 miles from the interstate.
Fourth, Ryan, starting the weekend we are having some practices with Richmond teams. Call me at the store to set up something(434-990-0010)
Fifth, hey frontplayer, give me a yell the next time you are at the field, I'll be glad to help you out any way that I can(I have played front with and against some of the best)
Sixth, nice run thru, you know who you are!
Seventh, anjordan77, read number four and let me know about your available practice times and we will set it up
eight, We are building another field this coming week. It will be a large five man with Xball bunkers(I ordered it today) We will be using it next weekend!

yes, this field is the pimp shizzle. it's prob. the best run field i've been on. it does not have as many fields or people as the others of course it only just opened...i see great things in the future for this field.

I'm from nothern VA, if I were to take 29 South into Charlottesville, what would it take for me to get there? or is there a better way?

I ask because I take 29 South to Lovinston VA, and go through Charlottesville to get to a small cabin I own..

Where in northern VA? If you live by 15 it is a straight run down to the field.

If you took 29 south into Charlottesville get on 250 where Best Buy is, it doesn't matter which way on 250(first entrance ramp one goes goes around c'ville and the second entrance ramp takes you thru Pantops) because both directions hit 64 after a few miles. Jump on 64 east towards Richmond and get off at the Zion Crossroads exit. Then make a right onto 15 towards Palmyra and just follow the map butcher posted from there.

just played there this weekend and the setup has changed ,there is a five man in the back now and the 3 man was removed(not sure if thats permanent or temporary)and the main field was extended to a 10 man size (its huge)i was told thatit will be a 10 man field.also there was talk of an addl 7 man field but again that was only talk.im sure we will see many good things from this field.THANKS AGAIN to all the refs and staff at LAKEPB made for one hell-of-a great sunday of play.

Well another nice weekend of paintball. A little windy but nice field setup it was pretty nasty Ross's plan, I believe it played very well tho. One of the things we try to do is have the field setup different every week and so far its working. And thanks to Richmond Riot and Driven and Skull monkeys for comeing out to practice hope everybody had fun.

yeah, our playing didn't quite turn out like i wanted it to...but we learned alot and played paintball. can't get too bad if you play alot of paintball.

roger that, just head down 29 south to c-ville, jump on 64 east, go to exit 136. take a right off the exit ramp, go about 6-7 miles, there will be white signs with red splats on them on the right, they'll tell you where to turn. what time are you guys heading down? i might be able to meet you at the exit or something.

p.s. - if you and the guys you're bringing want to play with the throw together team andy's bringing, say something to him. i dont know how serious you guys want to be, but it might be cool.

Thanks to everyone at Lake paintball for having us out sundayholds down . Man it was a blast. Not many fields have that nice grass to slide on without getting hurt.(Xcept for Andy who manages to slide into a peg that the bunkers).

Props to Rudy for making a really nice practice field for 7 man teams. I would recommend the field to anyone looking to head into the NPPL.

We are looking to practice on the 25th against some 7 man teams, if anyone is interested let me know.
