someone convince me to buy an F4 illustrator GS over spyder special edition. because im not sure.........

Well I have one and love it to death compared to all my friends spyders. F4's are unique. They arent like the usually and not many people have them. If you properly care for it, it will serve you good. I had mine for 2 years so far and had no problems besides a bad sear which I got because they had a bad shipment of sears. Otherwise it performs awesome. It never gives me trouble. Id choose an f4 any day over a spyder.

I think overall the F-4 is built way better. It's a solid marker with great performance. They're not as cheaply made as the Spyder but lack in the area of "upgrades." Truly the only things you ever need to do with it are a new barrel, regulator, and HPA. And I can sell you a new XP red/ blue flames w/ a Dye Boomstick cheaper than you can buy a new GX. Let me know if your interested.

But I have one other thing to say friends don't let friends buy Spyders.

I would skip the Spyder SE and get the TL+. Actually, you are better off saving an extra $200 and getting the EM1.

As for F4s they are a little testy in the beginning but once they break in, they will run very well. Plus they come in all sorts of neat colors!

--Very easy and fast to field strip
--Decent stock barrel (still suggest getting a aftermarket barrel)
--It will eat liquid and not freeze up as easy in cold weather
--Reliable and made tough
--Maintenance is easy
--Not a difficult gun to work on
--Sweet looks and nice feel
--ACI has good customer service

The new ones (2000 up) models are suppose to come with a better trigger as well. It's true that theres not a ton of upgrades but the F4 doesn't need a lot of them. Recently ACI released a double trigger and frame too.

I've never had a single problem with mine and if my F4 were stolen and I had to pick between the F4 and other markers in it's class I'd diffiantly go for the F4 again!!!!
