holding tryouts for new OR team~Team CoNtRoL?~

HI, me and my friend are looking to start a new paintball team, we have not quite come up with a name yet but we are leaning towards Team Control. The team will be based in Oregon, more specifically the Portland area. The team will be very stricked. We will more than likely have two practices a week, practices will be discussed with all team players to find out best time to hold the practices. If you miss a practice you will be punished such as paying a fine which will go towards the team. My friend and I are still discussing it, but more than likely every team member will be supplied with jersey, paints, goggles, and gloves. Tryouts are probably going to be held at portland paintball, you can go ahead and check them out at their website, portlandpaintball.us. The tryouts are probably going to be held within the next 1-2 months. Anyone can come and tryout (we will not be looking at what kind of gun you have). We plan on building this team from the ground up and hopefully it will someday be a pro-team. just a heads up, its good to know what devision you guys will be playing in.

just my opinion, but you shouldnt punish a team member for missing a practice. not everyone can afford to play 2 times a week. just try and practice together as much as possible. good luck!

i agree. if i was looking to join a team that would be something to make me think twice.

do you guys have sponsors? because if you dont even using only 1 case of paint at each practice (40 bucks) and field fee (another 10) two times a week is going to be at least 100 bucks a week for practice alone.

then you have tournies, the smallest of which will run each player about 160 bucks (for say a 5 man team).



i'm a student. i work a part time job which pays pretty well. I could pay for that, but the fact is, if i do, that means i cant do anything else. i'd be too dang broke.

i agree with hefty lefty on this one. of course its my opinion only, im just trying to help.

Yeah sorry I forgot to talk about what series we are going to be playing in, to tell you the truth we have not quite decided yet, I will post it when we decide. The whole thing with the punishment for missing a practice is just to give the team members more of a reason to come to practice and also if you cant make a practice you can be excused from a practice as long as we (the captains) are talked to a week prior to the practice, as long as the excuse they give us is valid. All of this and more will be discussed in the contract that each team memeber will sign. For everyone that reads my posts, if you have any corrective critizism please post it.
