Pev's Three Man Player's WE NEED YOUR HELP!!!

It seems at our last event (Sunday September 14th) someone walked away with a marker that wasn't their's.

Now we are assuming that this was an inadvertant mistake on someone's part but we would very much like to get this marker back.

It is a Yellow & Black Faded Chris Lasoya Timmy with a crossfire tank attached. It is my understanding that it was in a gear bag near the stage when it "disappeared".

This is a very unique marker and will be easy to spot as this is a Miami Effect marker, one of only 20 or so made and is owned by our very own Special Events coordinator Steve Rabackoff.

Needless to say the ENTIRE Pev's organization is disappointed that this happened to anyone and we are all actively involved in attempting to recover this "lost" marker.

If you have any information as to this markers whereabouts please call or stop in to any of your local Pev's Proshops and let the manager know.

Northern Virginia is a very tight paintball community, sooner or later someone will remember something and we will recover the marker. We would appreciate that happening SOON.

Once again Yellow & Black Fade Timmy, Crossfire tank attached, please help us make sure it finds it's way home.

Well this isn't the first time this has happened. At the VA Pursuit Cup at Pev's a timmy w/warp and tank was stolen from a friend of mine. Apparently there is a real theif there that needs to be caught.

unfortuanly i dont make it out to the fields very much these days to keep an eye out, but i'll make sure they get the word in fredericksburg, i should be able to hit TMX on monday, and i'll call Soggie Bottom on tuesday (not open on monday IIRC) and let them know as well. if they see anything suspicious, which shop should they call to varify the ID of the gun ??

This is whats wrong with our world. Because it was stole from a "Pev's staff member" they are making a huge deal out of it, and will get it back. In the two other instances of guns being stole from their field it was never mentioned. In one of the instances the staff at the field didn't offer to do anything.

Now, I'm not putting this all on Pev's and its staff. Thats the way everything works. Just for instance, if an "IMPORTANT" persons kid is kidnapped its all over every newspaper, tv news, and the radio, but if a "nobody's" kid is kidnapped they will get lucky if it is mentioned.

I'm sorry for my rant, but this kinda thing bugs me to no end.....

Sorry...I don't buy into that argument at all. There were reasonably decent threads about the cocker and timmy being stolen a few months back too. (And the DC Metro Paintball Community was able to get back the Timmy) What PO's me is that someone was blatant enough to take Rab's gun from a gearbag (if I've read this thread right). That's pretty F-ing ignorant, but that's just my $.02. Sorry you feel like Rab is getting more attention than someone else but that speaks well of him. He's a solid guy as are Pev, Todd, Dennis, Dale, etc who have collectively done a lot for the paintball community in NVA. This is one way the community is paying them back. :tup: I personally hope that they press charges against the thief but the important thing is getting the marker back. :evilgrin: Honestly though, if you had a marker stolen wouldn't you expect Skyline to go all out trying to get it back for you?

I spread the word amongst my Hogback folks not because it was Rab's and that he seems to be a cool guy (I don't now him personally).

I'm doing so because clipping the guys stuff is wrong, and thats that. Also I believe in kharma and what goes around comes around. I'd only hope that if the same thing happened to me and someone 'borrowed' my Excal or even my Tippmann that I paid for cash with my own hard earned money, folks would come to my aid and 'look out for a brotha'.

Now I haven't been in the sport or on the scene as long as most of the guys in NoVA. But in the past two years I'm feeling like the community is close knit and most of the folks are good people. As such I'll do what I can personally to help out and pass on the word. It matters not to me that Rab is Rab or that he's a Pev's employee. It could have been some 12 yr/old 'Young Guns' Spyder with a CO2 tank and a stock barrel.

BTW, the same thing happened earlier in the summer to a former Hogback ref and guess what, it was a Pev's employee who was the one to locate the marker and ultimately get the guy his equipment back. This guy was nobody special yet folks still jumped in to help out.

Some day it might happen to you or your teammate. Know that you got folks who would look out for you and not just blow you off, even if you are a nobody. ;)

I know for a fact that everyone works just as hard to find anyone's stolen gun as they are for Rab. I know they've even located guns stolend from other people's stores! Please don't think that they don't. I've been witness to it. The guys in the shops are very observant as to who own's what gun. Heck, I'm just a playa and I can pick out if someone is shooting or carrying around one of my bro's or sis's guns.

As far as the Rabster, he's the man!! Up up upppity up!!! I hope they find the dumba$$ who has the balls to pull a marker out of anyones bag.

We will definitely keep an eye out here at Skyline. I think they were trying to point out that the uniqueness of the gun would make it stick out, it didn't really matter whose it was, just that it would be easily recognized.

We never did get the Timmy back that walked away at the PEVS VPC and hopefully that will turn up sometime. It was black with a warp feed and the kids that had it stolen had to pay the guy who owned it and loaned it to them an awful lot of money (too much).

It would help to mention that we all take for granted that our stuff is safe wherever we go. I think that overall most all players can be trusted but it is one of those situations where one jerk*&# can ruin it for everybody. If you see someone steal something whether it be from a person or a pro shop or hear about somebody stealing something be sure to report it to the field or store as soon as you can. The paintball world is a pretty tight knit community and we can all help weed out the bag eggs.

A stolen gun shouldn't happen any time any place and it's crappy people in this world that make us all have to band together and help keep this from happening.

I sure hope so. And just to clarify something. I hope they catch the punk, I wasn't posting on here to wish bad luck on the guy or anything like that. If someone does catch him, be sure and post his name on here so that everyone knows the crook.

Its just that the more high profile people get a lot more exposure. And have you noticed that people that are prominent get a lot of freebies? In other words the more money you have the more free stuff you get.. To me thats pretty screwed up too. I guess thats a rant for another thread though.

As the originator of the thread I thought I would add my two cents.

Mini, I am glad you felt free to express your opinion, that is what these forums are for.

I am concerned that you believe we are doing more this time because it is "Rab's" marker. I do agree with your point on society in general but I do not believe we are that type of organization.

As for the other two markers we recovered one and are still looking for the other.

We appreciate everyone's assistance in this matter.

someone stole my CP kit at pevs like last week, so I walked aruond for like 2 hours and tried to find it. I found some bag lying by the stage and looked in it and there it was. That stupid *** who stole it is in a ****load of trouble now. He said he took it cuz "He wanted one" SO if something gets stolen, look for it first, dont just accept the fact. but with Rab's deal, there is really nothing he could've done.
