Ok...really this is just a matter of personal prefrence. I am debating the same issue, between the same 2 guns. I have shot them both and they are both great markers. The impy shoots great on co2 which is a plus since it's more widly avaliable and usually a little cheaper, but at many places now its the same. It's nice to be able to get your tank filled at the local k-mart and play some outlaw vs. having to travel 20 min to get a HPA fill. The new cockers shoot pretty well out of the box...and even better with a new barrel, as do the impys. The impys have a shorter faster electro trigger vs. the cockers longer slide trigger. But as everyone knows with all the cocker upgrades you can work up any type of trigger you want, now including electric and pivot.
Remember I don't own either of these markers...yet, but have shot them both at the local field (as well as a nice vision impy at skirmish yesterday at the 10hr senerio game...some nice man let me shoot it at the range... I love friendly people!). I will say that just the sound of a cocker shooting is addicting, and since I like to upgrade and tinker I think I'll be going for the cocker.
On a side note... Each gun should be very reliable if you take care of it. Please don't mess with a cocker if you don't know what your doing. If it works...don't try to make it work more...it will work less... :D The nice thing is...everyone and his brother has a cocker and most tecks at the local field can fix them quite easily. And impy on the other hand is a different story... They have less to go wrong with them, and from what I hear things don't really happen to often, but if they do remeber it's electric, and you better have a Smart Parts cert. teck somewhere around or your screwed.
