View Full Version : CO2 on a Low Pressure M98?
how evil would it be to use CO2 on my M98 w/ LP kit? i will be playing tomorrow but only have about 3500 psi in my 4500 psi tank and not sure if i can make that last all day (no places to fill HPA where i play). i have a couple full CO2 tanks but would using those harm the gun in any way? i know about the liquid getting into the LP chamber issue but it is gonna be around 90* tomorrow so i doubt i'll have expansion problems. anyway, is using CO2 an acceptable alternate in the event of this most grevious of paintball emergencies?

wont be too bad.. the thing it might effect the most is your regulator.. if you plan on running co2 strait in it gonna cause all kinds of problems.. if it even works your velocity will be sky high

why would it be any diff than running nitro pressure-wise? with my palmer i can interchange CO2 and nitro and have the same velocity without having to adjust it.

there will be no pressure difference since you have the palmers. wasnt sure if you were running a secondary reg in your setup. and since it is a palmers co2 wont hurt it a bit.. you will be just fine with that setup. you will get some spikes cause of the co2 but thats expected.
cool, thx for the clarification :)
hopefully i can conserve and the LP kit will provide that little extra efficiency. just didnt wanna hurt the gun or start shooting too hot...
and btw, hello to the board...you'll see me more often now that pbd/c kicked us out :)

welcome to PBN glad to have ya here

well, it does work :) had to play about 2 games with a CO2 tank and it performed quite well. velocity was about a range of 6 fps rather than the 3-4 fps i get with nitro. didnt have any spikes (not noticeable at the chono) but it did start to have some shoot-down during extended fire-fights...i prolly wouldnt recommend using it in lower than 80* weather, but in a pinch i was pleased.
OT: if anyone is thinking about getting the LP kit and ya have the extra 120 bux to blow, definitely get it. it cut my velocity range by about 50% and made the gun a bunch more efficient. it also made it quieter. a good buy :D

i have tried to use co2 through a GTA reg, and as duff said, it did get some spikes in the velocity, but really shouldnt harm your performance too much. only 1 more thing, if you have an e-bolt, (which i am not sure you do, but just incase) you might want to wrap the solenoid (if you need help, just ask) because the rapid firing of CO2 through it might cause condensation on it and harm the board.
and dager, i havent seen you in this neck of the woods latley, hehe, whats going on
