I have few questions if anybody could answer it...
first i'm here in korea and my gun is in the US,
1. Is it possible somebody to transport my gun on the plane?
2. Is paintballing popular here?
3. Is there lot of shops around?
4. Is there restrictions on where you could have a field?
i'm planning to open a pb shop or a indoor field in the future and dont know the current laws and such so give me any other info you think i should know also... thx

Depends on what korea you live in. North or South?
I doubt that NK allows PB and I am not sure about the South

For the first off why do everybody think it's "F***ing North korea"?
I really doubt they'll be any pbing and i dont think i'll be thinking of playing pb
then thinking of making my life a bit better with people starving and way life sucks everywhere you look

Like you said everyone is starving to death and can't afford paintball. They also have really strict rules like what channels you can watch and everything is own by the goverment.

Paintballing is the national pasttime in North Korea. kim Il Jung (the Dictator) has his own indoor sup air field. They have a national pb tourney every month with the new moon. You should all look into moving out to North Korea.

They have paintball in Korea. They don't call it paintball, but it's like "survival games" or something.
Anyway, it's usually on land out in the country, in the mountains somewhere. I've never actually went, I just saw it on TV.
I don't know what kind of restrictions there would be. I don't think much.
I think paintballing could possibly be a big hit, you'd have to do more research though.
I don't think there are many if any shops around. I think the fields provide rentals for everyone.
I doubt you could get your marker on a plane.
NOw, the problem with opening a field is cost of a building and land. Unless you built it in the middle of nowhere(the field at least) the cost of a building large enough to house a field would be huge, especially in the city.

Well i've been station here on korea for 3 months now. I can definetly tell you that Paintball is not known at all here. So you got your time and money cut out for. But if you can make it you'll be the first to Make mad cash. Just make sure it's near a big city like Seoul. Anyways, im in the military and we do play paintball but it's nothing like the real Tournament **** i love to play. It's just fooling around type of thing that we do amoung our selves.

Thx for the info Asianman. Been doing some research and haven't found much info of late but i got some what you already stated. It's not too popular here so marketing and promotion is the key.

Just browsing around and saw your question. I am from the Netherlands (not really close to Korea, but anyway...). I work at a paintball park and we import paintballs made by a Korean manufacturer, called Think Big. I know they have their own playing facility. Althought the also make .68 caliber paintballsfor the American and European market that isn't the boresize used in Asia. In Asia people play with much smaller paintballs. So you don't have any use with your own marker. Besides, it is illegal to own a paintballmarker unless you have a permit.
Anyways, here is some additional info I picked up on the new face full website (www.face-full.com) about paintball in Korea:
Country: Korea
Population: 46 Million
Area: 99 392 kmē
Language: Korean
Currency: Korean won
Capital: Seoul
Estimated number of paintball players: around 300,000
Estimated number of teams: None
Government law on paintball:
As we indicated earlier, we can't have our own guns without permission by government, so only companies that are involved in the paintball field can possess guns after getting permission. In all there are about 100 companies nationwide.
Paintball federation: There is no federation for paintball in Korea. but there is a Federation of Leisure Sports.
Paintball fields/sites: Indoor 1 - Outdoor 30
Paintball stores: 10
The adres of Think Big:
THINK BIG
#A-919, Samho Moolsan Bldg. YANGJAE-DONG, SEOCHO-KU
275-1 SEOUL
Tel. : 82 2 589 1002
Good luck over there!

I brought my gear when I moved out here about three years ago.
If you want, there are decent rentals out there.
Please send e-mail to me at cardiahouse@hotmail.com so I can tell you more in details.
