Please put O-ring near the tip of the Bolt (on GM too), because on long hard gamedays (I'm playing frontman) wouldnt be any possibility of wear because of some lil substance (dunno what) has entered the breech and has ripped off some of the anodizing and metal from the bottom of the breech and from the GM bolt too.

This happened to me.

O-ring on the tip of the bolt would of prevented this.

If there aint such thing on Q-7 or Kelevera, you can count me off the "future FEP-marker purchasers" -list.

Other than that the gun is amazing, shoots lasers and is efficient like hell.

And YES, I do clean up my gun after every practise and tournament troughout.
Thats how I found the wear after last tourney.

And Preventing Wear.. That Does Nothing to Effeciency at ALL.. is gonna keep you from buying it?

The Air Doesnt go Past the Last Oring on the bolt.. putting an oring on the front.. would just add an oring ... that wouldnt do Anything.. it wouldnt even prevent wear...that didnt effect Performance in the first place..

It WOULD prevent wear, because it would prevent any substance of getting in between of the breech and bolt and would just keep it in front of the bolt.

Sounds like you want a bumper not an oring.

Actually it wouldn't. If any dirt or sand entered the breech/bolt area via the barrel, it would still potentially cause wear because the bolt rests in the OPEN position. If it was a Closed Bolt marker then the potential issue would never arise.
I don't believe that o-ring placement would make any differance. And I have seen the damage sand can do to both Quest breeches AND Shocker breeches.
However. That being said; I would rather shoot my Quest (an Enclosed bolt gun) on a dirt field over my Viking or Excal because of the markers 'Open Bolt' placement. Same with Egos, Timmies, etc.
The last thing you want is dirt getting in your ramvalve assembly.

So in short..........don't stick your barrel in the ground ;)

:P in the end.. i was right.. hmm go Figure...

Anyway .. the Only .. * Exposed Open bolt.. * Proven to Play thru all Conditions is a 98c.. Those damn things Never die...

But being in hawaii.. Sand.. and Red Dirt are common place.. and considering this doesnt effect performance in the slightest.. it doesnt matter.. at all..

The inside of my breech is all scratched up as well. Mainly from Original first production run goldmember snaps (which are all fixed now there are no more GM snaps). I actually asked cole about it once and right from the designers mouth, scratches in the breech area (where the ball sits) has no affect on the gun because there is no contact in that region.

(did i put enough original GM snapping disclaimers in there? hehe)

If paintballs were waterproof you could play with 98c's in the ocean, lol. :P

You should have suggested it last year so you could have taken credit for it.

The breach oring is gone, the oring is near the tip of the bolt now, just opened it today.

Gotta wait for Q-7 internal pictures, before ordering one. :P

Most of us play on grass or turf so this isnt a problem. I also dont put debris in my gun, my hopper is always clean w/ clean paint going through and my barrel stays off the ground.

Sounds like a NOX bolt design with an oring in the tip of the bolt.

speaking of bumpers, does the q-7 have bolt bumpers built into the design? I would like to get rid of that white washer and not have to replace the o-ring constantly.

thats good to know since my stock bolt snapped and scraped up the breach of my gun bad.....but the bolt was replaced for free and was shipped overnight shipping so all is well

Well... we all dont have time to clean up our gats in tournaments between matches and we all dont play like girls.

the thing I don't like on the Q-7 preview is that they do the same as with the Ego, milling a rail below the grip.
http://img187.imageshack.us/img187/4489/dscf2647cy8.jpg

plz don't, because people with long arms like me hate it! We still have to put a longer rail below it for the perfect length.

thx.

Well u can still add a rail if u need it.... I like it personally...

Cole69
06-28-2007, 02:35 PM
yes you can add a rail,it still has the 4 holes on the bottom of the frame...The bolt with the O ring in the front was on the first prototype, just wanted to install O ring that didnt have to be changed much...The Q seven is on the bolt lol...I hope this helps you guys...:D
Thanks Cole

ok then, :)

the rail on the (current) quest has an excellent length for me.

while we still can request stuff, an 16inch barreltip with the 007 barrelkit is also welcome :) :D

its people like you that make me hate paintball players:dodgy: - im sure some one mentioned this but i dont know i dident read the whole thread, so here you go newby the oring you want is there its located in the breech just infront of your eyes-no not your physical eye smart guy :xeyed: but the eyes in your gun. secondly the scrap you are talking about is normal gun wear the bolt moves at really high rates of speed therfore there is chatter in the gun scrapping metal to metal as it rockets forward. secondly your an idiot for saying you can count yourself out of future gun ownership from fep-what if your favority pro is playing with it? or its just the new hot ness... dude im sorry to flame but you should have really consulted your parents before you tryed to act like an educated person:eek:

For the record in 18 years of paintballing I've never used a gun that DIDN'T get wear in the breech area. It WILL happen no matter what. Get over it and play ball.

Learn your grammar tbh.
My older gats (DM4, DM5 and DM6) didn't get any wear on breech area whatsoever, but Quest got it after 1 month.
Maybe it was due to rough usage, but nevertheless too soon.

thats bull, tomi.... but thats beside the point i have owned trixes since before you little kids even knew about andy kopcock (lol). i was explaining that there is chatter in the quest gun i dident compare the quest to any other marker. and secondley chatter is a direct result of wrong measurments or some kinda inconsistancy in flow or a million other fractional possabilitys. rough usage tomi i hope you used lots of lube....

I use tons of lube. English isn't even my national language and still can master it better than you do, which is kinda sad tbh...

I didn't say that Quest was a bad marker, just said that it could use an improvement.

Kids who think they big boys now... really.

This argument is damn annoying. Yes the quest suffers from breach wear, does it hurt the performance? no. Does your age have shit to do with anything? no. Does this bullshit flame war need to continue? No!

can we get back on topic now? Or should I call hobby in here to stop this bickerfest.
