żdo FEP sells individual backs of the 007?
because since the quest already has one tip, i don't see the need to buy another(and we're not talking about a cheap barrel kit, quite the opposite) and i'd only need 1-2 more back sizes

Wouldn't a call from Argentina cost a bit of money though?

Cool, i'm sure this info could be useful to other ppl as well.
At least it's on my top list of upgrades, a new barrel kit, the 696 is too enormous for the paint here(i get like ~30fps variation per shot due to bore adjustment, with a 689 i got ~10fps)

Get the scepter that you have in your sig :)

the Scepter is(was) my main interest, but since the 007 is a good barrel(albeit it doesn't comes with a lot of bore options) i'd like to go to the least expensive path.

I asked last week and they said you had to buy the complete kit.

Bah, I have 2 kits and now I just use one bore all the time (.693). I dunno, maybe I'm just lazy, but I don't notice a huge difference, especially since accuracy by volume is the most surefire bet to hit your target .

i was told that high grade tournment paint is big bored by friends who've used them(at least here...).
the thing is that the "normal" paint is 688/689 here, you can guess what happens with the 696 :D
to expand on what i said before, with the 696 i was getting 265 to 290fps variations @220psi, i took a friend's kaner .689 and magic, 301 to 310 fps, only from changing the barrel, heheh

If it doesn't work out with the 007 kit I highly suggest a Scepter kit. I LOVE mine.

They only sell kits, which kinda bummed me out too. But the 007 is the best barrel I have ever used.

I was thinking about buying a stiffi kit. I dont know yet, because of the situation with only 1 back size.

i agree
im kinda a barrel whore so anytime a new barrel comes out i buy it as soon as i can get the money
the best barrel for the price is deffienetly the lucky barrel. the shitty thing is that they closed down the lucky in the US

meh, get a Deadly Wind barrel
they are the same thing as a stiffi but they take freak inserts. trust me its sex

The DW barrel weighs more, but not a noticable difference...
I got my Switch kit for $60 :)
Or else I would have bought the DW....

i overbore and i get velocity readings like 272, 252, 246, 280, 270, and so on. when not overboring i get like 256,252,258,257,255, etc.

I like to barely overbore. I don't like it bouncing around wasting air and jumping velocity but i do like a little random curve when i play back =)
Still the barrel kit is the best I've ever shot =) Certainly better than only having a .689. A lot of paint is bigger than that.

well i dont pay much attention to my vlocity as long as im under 300 or w/e the limit is where im playing... my effiecency is nothing to complain about and my quest still shoots ball on ball
maybe its just on my guns... but i like having one big barrel and not worrying about it.. seems to help slightly shooting through paint as well
sounds like ur nit picking at lil things, dont worry so much about squeezing out the lil bit of perfection... you wont notice it on the field

QFTW.
i found the same thing myself, ponly with wilder variation, there's no paint that's bigger than 0.690 here, with the standard 689 paint i got horrible velocity and high HPR pressures, like 40+fps variation between shots, 280, 240, 230, 290, 270
then i put it a friends' STO kaner .689 without touching any setting, and the speeds where 310, 309, 305, 310
so, overboring=horrible consistency(which translates to horrible precision as each pellets leave with different speeds and "tumbling") and bad efficiency.
and yes, in the field when doing 20m longshots i do notice the variations, it's not nitpicking outkast, it's just silly to have a 800$ top-of-the-line HPA-regulated marker with superb components(and add 200~ for the hpa tank) to get a 40fps~ variation that puts it in the same class as any unregulated co2 blowback
