well i was just wondering what the difference between all the generations of quests?
the biggest thing i want to do to my gun is get a gague port on the thing that my reg screws into (no idea what its called)
also, if i send my quest into FEP to get one of those parts put on about how much should it cost and how long will it take?
i would just call FEP but they are at HB still

gen1- chip board, angel grips (and grip pattern on trigger frame), no gauge.
gen2- gauge, new style grips (and the old skull ones too), still chip board
gen3-gen 2 w. was
gen3.5- gen 2 w. lucky ACE
as for converting gen 1 into a gen 3 it shouldnt cost too much or take too long.

well on the plus side i think i already have the was board in my gun
also i ordered some OG grips from FEP so i hope they fit
so basically all i need is a gauge and im good to go (dont want a lucky board with all of this shit going on)

eh i have a lucky board and it rips tits. but the grips will fit i think, just one screw on each side wont line up. and yeah all you need is a new vert ASA and you're set, i think FEP will hook you up for cheap.

if that happens i guess i can drill 2 holes
and yeah, i dont think it will be that cheap because of all the milling that is required (2 sets of threads)

i wouldnt advise drilling the holes for the grip frame, just play like that or if you have to tape the grips on. and i mean they would just send you a new vert asa probably not more then $40 (i'd hope not, you could tap it yourself if you really needed to although again, i dont advise it but you could if you knew what you were doing)

Only problem w/ a new vert ASA is that i'll probably be a different anno than the rest of the gun.
So if you're going to do that and REALLY want the grips to line up, i guess you could just buy a vert asa and a new grip frame from FEP. Ask if they have any in the junk box maybe.

lol, i ment drill 2 holes in the grips
assuming the grips would be in the right spot

i can get it black then it will match the rest of the accents on my gun

I'm assuming you mean black polish. I doubt they have many polished parts around the shop unless there's one or two lying around in the used box or way back in the back of the shelf.

haha woops ok that makes more sense. and what he means is now quests are dust and the gen1's,2's, and very early 3's were gloss

I just figured from your sig it was a blue gen 1. That anno is even different than the gen 2/3 blue's and so even less likely for FEP parts lol.

actually if you wanted to tap the frame to accept the lcd angel grips(or the "new" og pattern if you have the "old" angel pattern) it shouldnt cost too much since its a simple operation.
tapping the vert adaptor for a gauge shouldnt be too hard either if you have a competent machine shop do the work.
just give them an example to know where to do it. just need an 1/8 npt drill and tap to accept a gauge. putting it in the right place without an exemplar is the hard part. same with the grip screw holes. they cant just "do it", they need to know where they should go.
simple if you know where to put them, not so much so if your doing it "blind".
