I am a new Quest owner and I own a Gen 3 this is to see how much interest there is in an actual Quest board rather than using chips...
for those who chose they need more info what exactly would you like to know

troof
i have the nox chip
but i'd love to put in a full on NOX board into my gun
esp. if somehow the great jamie could make it accept different harnesses...

Well, somehow I ended up with a very nice quest, Gen 3, but has a Gen 2 board/chip. I could just get the chip. But for you unlucky ones, boards work.
Zeoalex

yeah, the board would be better because those with the gen 3's/ Q-7 (if its the same board) can take advantage of NoX without having to buy the board AND the chip

gen 3's have WAS
gen 4's have lucky
a Q-7 will NOT have a was board
Zeoalex

yeah, i know about that
but what im getting at is that if you have a gen 3 or 4, you can have the power of nox without having to buy the chip board as well as the chip

true dat
the lucky board was said to be good but confusing
why doesnt any one like the WAS board I ripped w/ my WAS

was has poor eye logic i heard. so did the original board. I dont really see a need for another aftermarket board though, the others are pretty good.

yeah
plus its lucky, and i now dont support lucky, even if we can still get em
and NY
what boards do we have
all i can think of
WAS
Spitfire (maybe, dunno if we can still get those)
virtue (who i personally have a problem with, but thats just me)
and APE

idk i just dont see the need for more boards, i mean its not going to be more adjustable, battery efficient, or anything like that all it might offer is more firing modes, but i really dont a need for more then straight semi, i rarely shoot over 12bps. but thats just me.

better eye logic.... better debounce....
NYGuardians capt.
03-30-2007, 11:24 PM
spitfire has that... so does APE and virtue. Plus i never felt a problem with stock board debounce.
Zeoalex
03-30-2007, 11:29 PM
well
each company has other things to bring to the table. each board is different. Personally i'd go with NOX over APE and virtue
and each company has different ways of programming the board...
NYGuardians capt.
03-30-2007, 11:44 PM
well naturally but thats a side-effect of patent laws and when you get down to it the boards dont really differ that much, I.E. if someone handed you an APE board for your quest, would you still go out and buy NOX?
loki32687
03-30-2007, 11:46 PM
honestly....i'd try it out probably but i would most likely go out and buy a NoX board because its what is tried and true for me mine has never failed me

why? whats so special about nox, tadao is tried and true for me, as a matter of fact i love their boards the most, but i didnt buy one for most of my guns because the boards that they came with worked perfectly, is having a certain comfort level with a board worth the $$$?

well i also do not know about the customer service of the other companies but Jamie is always around to help out and answer any and all questions and yes for that bit of comfort i would spend the money especially considering the quest i own has the stock WAS board if i could i would rather have a nox board
Zeoalex
03-31-2007, 12:16 AM
yeah
after what Jamie has done for me, if I can get nox, i will have it
yes, the comfort level is worth the cash to me

I have a gen 2 with NOX and yes i will agree there is often never a need for more then stock which is quite good and few firing modes besides the league legal ones. I really like the flexability of the NOX myself but if they want to produce a board i would probably buy it:evilgrin:

APE is doing a good job with customers service. As soon as I get the $$$ i'm getting me a raider board :)

NoX changes Quests into Borgs? I'd be curious to see if someone could retrofit a NoX bushy board (Bushy harnesses are cheap and almost universal!) into a Quest. That would give a really good idea of the potential/differences.

My friend Trevor actually rigged a Nox board made for 'Borgs into a quest...but he sold it a long while ago.

my friend got the ape board in huntington (raiders board) its the best shooting board that i have ever shot i liked the nox chip/board and the lucky board but as soon as i installed the ape i saw the difference in the way my gun shot not only that but it seems to cycle faster with the ape then when i had the lucky. then again its all personal prefrence. i also heard for the new q7 and other kelevera (sp) that fep will be using their own boards not tadao, virtue, ape but something that they make and program is this true

Yup, I have supplied a few 06 Cyborg boards for special projects as they are small, have separate connections for each I/O and run the newer code.
