Average efficiency?

For those guys with Goldmember, How many shots do you average off a 68/45? I have a Goldmember in my Quest and Im getting about 1100 shots off a 68/45. I know that is not very good at all. Is there anything I can do to improve that number?

I to just got a goldmember bolt. The fit is a bit tight at first. Give it time to break in. Also make sure your settings are stock. I left mine there and all that is left is keeping it lubed, and breaking it in. If after ten(10)-twelve(12) cases nothing happens, I am throwing the stock bolt back in. That bolt was broken in and was getting marvelous efficiency.

If you want it broken in faster give it to a back guy;)

I got around 8 pods and a hopper with mine, 68 with around 4000 psi. I had my LPR set to around 80psi, but I'm only guessing because they use a 300psi guauge. I replaced the LPR gauge with a 160 guage and aired it up and it told me 40psi, so maybe I wasn't running 80 as I thought. Since then, I have upped it to 80 psi and have not been out to shoot it since PSP LAO. I have the GM and Snatch and lube it up with Hater1.

Im guessing you guys have had your Quests long enough to break them in to run them at 40-50 psi. If I run my Quest lower than about 70 I get bad FSDO.

My dwell is at 8, I keep my LPR at 80 psi, I run it at 280 fps, it has goldmember, but still I only get a little more than 2 bags off a fill. What can I do to improve this number?

My baby runs at 75, with an 10-11 dwell. Smooth as silk. But I like to work in orings a lot. I am not sure my exact eff #'s but I was always able to get an easy 5 pods off my 45/45 with stock bolt. I havent had a chance to even use my quest since I got the new GM.

Also, many times you dont get a full fill. a 4k hot fill will drop to around 3800 if not less. You could also have a small leak from the gauge, fill nipple, or burst disk....or a bad oring in your fill nipple.

I've been using dow33 but I will be ordering some Hatersauce V2 within the next week. And, what exactly do you mean "work the o-rings in"? I will try to raise the dwell and see if that allows me to drop the lpr pressure some. I guess Ill just tinker with it untill I can get the bes numbers I can. If you guys are wondering why Im trying to get better numbers, its because I play at a renegade feild with no fill stations.

the hater will help alot, that alone will allow you to lower your lpr. By breaking in the orings I mean I toy with my quest to much lol. I will rip some dry firing, then relube then d more and relube, then remove the orings and lube under them and then ontop and then relube and then shoot more. I donno I just baby her and last time she ripped she had less kick than I have ever seen. but she is waiting for a couple weeks to be used.....my pulse is at dxs, and I have an upgrade coming.....it shall be nice :sweeeeeeeet:

i have a stock bolt. but i DO have a 68/45. i havent actually just shot pure paint all the way thru a tank yet. however, i have shot 500rnds thru without any dryshots or test shots or whatever just to see what sort of efficiency i got.

stock was board with stock settings, 80psi indicated lpr pressure, 500rnds of paint with NO dryshots, dow 33(i know i know!!), a cold 68/45 tank(it wasnt a fresh fill.....it was in the middle somewhere) i was using about 1000 psi. the math says thats 2500 shots out of a full 4500psi fill. my fps was low so lets say its only 2k shots.
that STILL sounds wayyyyyyy above average to me, but fep claims 1500 out of a 68/45. i would say that that is a VERY reasonable number.

why yours is getting less? very likely its user error somewhere along the line. wrong orings in the wrong place, not enough lube, your regs arent set right, board settings arent right................something like that.

but keep this in mind......your quest not running right is getting just as many shots(or even more) as a shocker with an h.e bolt and tweaked settings.

a hot 4k fill willdrop to around ~3300 with a couple hours time....so fill the tank up one day then come back next time and top it off again. I doubt that his fill nipple o ring is bad, when the one on my tank fails it lets me know..lol. My Quest gets about 1650 shots out of my 70/45 tank with a cold 4500 fill...with no Goldmember bolt and my LPR at 95 and stock dwell setting. Maybe I'm just lucky?
