I am excited to announce a new tournament series called the Southern Paintball Championship Series (SPCS). This new series is the result of an agreement between Central Florida Paintball and PB Tournaments. The remaining events of the Central Florida Paintball series, the Florida Sunshine Series, and the Wicked Weekend Series will be canceled. We hope that by creating ONE larger series we can offer even more to the players, paintball vendors, and the industry in general.

The new SPCS will be held at Central Florida Paintball in Lakeland, Florida, and will be played on the following dates:

Round One:
April 14th and 15th.
June 9th and 10th
July 14th and 15th

Round Two:
August 18th, and 19th
Sept 15th, and 16th
Nov 10th, and 11th

The format for each round of the SPCS will be the same as our other Central Florida 5-man events. Rookie teams will play on Saturday, and the Amateur, Beginner, and Masters classes will play on Sunday. The prizes will remain the same, or will be of equal or greater value. We will continue to use the APPA for registration, and player ranking. For more information on SPCS rules, please go to www.thespcs.com., www.centralfloridapaintball.com , www.pbtournaments.com

Central Florida Paintball will open all four fields for each tournament. Three fields will be laid out according to the next up-coming PSP event, with all bunkers updated to 2007 standards. The fourth field will have new NPPL bunkers. We are working with vendors to have a trade show at each event. As of this writing, we have commitments from Chronic, DraXus, KEE Action Sports, XO Industries, Severe, Eclipse, Custom Products, Advanced Paintball Electronics, and others. These tournaments will be a great opportunity for paintball dealers, vendors, and players to get together many times throughout the year.

Jim Durante: "I think this agreement will create a great opportunity for paintball players and suppliers. I have no regrets about suspending my tournaments in support of this new tournament series. I am not exactly retiring. I will be at each of their events on behalf of DraXxus. I look forward to seeing all of my friends at the new SPCS tournaments."

My dad and I want to thank everyone for their support for the past three years. We are excited about the future and want to thank Jim Durante and Alex Reed from PB Tournaments for their support in creating this opportunity. We look forward to seeing you at our next event.

I like it, give the south a CFOA-ish tournament series.

Ahhhh mannn! I just worked a 48 hour shift at the Fire Station to get the old date off. Snap.lol The merge should be good for paintball in Florida though and will hopefully bring in more teams from out of state. John Sr and Jr and staff do a great job so I am sure this will be awesome! We look forward to it.

i tried to go to CFP's website, but i guess it's not working, does some one has a copy of the rules? and who classifies as beginners and rookies? what are the prizes? this should be a good thing for the whole tournament scene in florida...
