As for bolts, I have the stock and a GM bolt and both are still going strong (I've had my Quest since last May, GM since last Fall).

I have no idea why you would say this. It sounds like it is totally user error. Not the guns fault. I have owned MANY guns. Actually just about all of them. The QUest is the most reliable gun I have owned. Period. The gun isn't well respected in the dopey paintball community. Not the ones that have a mind of there own. You know the community. The ones that have to shoot an Ego, Shocker and DM6 becuase they have the most financed marketing. They are not better guns. And they all require more maintenance, maybe the Ego is equal. But they are also having quality with there 07's.

The same community that bashes the PMR and Ion that have composite/plastic parts, just like 2 years after the release of the non-bashed $1500 DMC - Dye Matrix Composite....

well let me play the devils advocate, the entire body of the DMC wasnt "composite" just small pieces and there was aluminum under the composite. Plus the DMC looked better, not to be insulting but the PMR and ION have to be some of the ugliest guns i've seen.

even with the tacky UL frame attached to the PMR, it is still hideous

there is metal under the plastic shell of the ion. just liek the dmc.
i like the pmr its super light and its not going to break or anything, so who cares. looks are personal preference.

yes but its pretty bad when you walk on the field, and the refs seperate the players for the game.

I <3 Ions.... Sorry but they are great guns. While I dont mind the plastic it usualy comes off. I had a strange bodied ion for a long time, and my brother still does I would rock it before most shockers.
bballryand316
03-18-2007, 02:44 PM
The PMR's only composite pieces are feedneck collar, eye covers, ASA, back cap, trigger frame. Get a new UL Frame, or NDZ Frame, NDZ eye covers, back cap, feedneck collar, ASA, and it's no longer plastic. Still cheaper than a DMC was.
Edit - LuAdak - I've had 4 Ions, all have been alright. Better than everyone had told me they would be.

yeah but on the dmc you dont have to remove the plastic shell to get at the bolt.

I think some people have just cut the plastic shell in the back, or bought a B.O.B. body for that purpose.
Nick Alder

it still doesnt matter.
since the gun is under 400, its affordable to everyone. and since its affordable, nooblet children buy them
its downfall is by its price. once noobs get a hold of guns, the popularity about the gun plummets.
the PMR is following the exact route the ion did.
the pmr's death was due to correlation
EDIT: i know the pmr might be good, but the general consensus is price = performance/popularity

I understand.
Still, it's a decent marker. I've only shot it with like 2 hoppers, but testing out ramping/semi, fast, nice, little kick, smooth feeling. I just want to use my Quest more, as well as my Omen.
What are your thoughts on the Mini? It may be a nice gun, though I'm not sure if it's up to par with all other tournament level guns.

The rail probably an awesome marker. it just looks like shit. and thats why i would rather own a shocker. the mini looks ok but i can't imagine what a nightmare it must be getting parts for it, thats why i havent bought one. I mean its hard getting parts for a quest nevermind the mini.

Yea. That's why I haven't gotten a Mini or NME yet. Though NME's can use most Timmy parts, I believe.
It looks almost EXACTLY the same as a PM7. Are THOSE ugly?
Well, maybe the stock frame is ugly, but an UL'ed PMR looks hot.

spiking LPR

The Spiking LPR is in rare circumstances and it is usually almost allways the oring. The reason the spiking LPR is a known Quest issue is it pretty much the only one except for the upgrade Goldmember breaking and that was only a small run of them before it was fixed. Would you like me to list the common problems of other guns I'm sure you love because Ollie does? Egos, dms, shockers angels ALL have specific "issues". And the best you can come up with for the Quest is an o ring you need to change every 20 cases??!! And the hard on paint thing. They are no worse than Ego's and Shockers(actually better than shockers). I know. I have owned both. Let me put it to you this way. I now own a ND NXT Shocker and had up till a little while ago a DM6. The Quest was and is still my primary gun. Of couse this is one mans opinion.

QFT, my teamate owns a DM6, and he's had to send it in 3 times in the last 4 months to get it fixed! Me, I've never had to send my gun in to get fixed, and it's never stopped working

I just bought the new 07 Tru BOB powerlyte body for mine. Looks like a very sleek quality anno. And I got it for cheap. Gotta love Best offers on ebay. I have owned the strange body, which was very nice, but abit heavy.
