Hoes does the included Zero drop fare compared to.. letsee an Evil Detonator?.
is it fast enough to feed the marker @23bps with no shootdown or inconsistency?.
thanks in advance

Well, I hate the macro fitting. Have to remove it or the trigger frame to get the reg on or off, not sure on performance.

I hated the Zero Drop macro fitting as well until I spun it so it was on the opposite side of the frame and have no complaints. As far asconsistency, I can only rate it compared to a CP. I think the CP was slightly more consistent (as far as over the chrono, but not by much, maybe +or- 1 or 2 FPS, but I personally feel that the Zero Drop has a better recharge, which is more omportant than 1 or 2 fps. I felt like I got less dropoff when I am ripping on it, if any, dare I say "Zero Drop". That is why I went back to the FEP and took off the CP.
As far as having to take the trigger frame off to get the reg off, all you have to do is unscrew it in the middle. Then you can slide the piston and
spring out for cleaning, unless there is something up top that needs lubing (let me know if I'm wrong, cause if so I REALLY have to lube it cause I never have).

so to take the reg all out you need to remove the frame, that sucks.
noone with a detonator installeD?
i guess i'll have to test it myself(i like the position of the macroline much better on the det)

Imo, the zero drop is a pretty sweet reg. In my experience, so far with it, it has been performing flawlessly. Best so far over the chrono was +-1fps. Which by anybodies standards is pretty gosh darn good. Also had a good paint to bore size match, which probably helped a lot too. And also, easy to clean/lube. There's no need to remove it completely from the vert. ASA. Just unscrew the bottom half, and then you get to the parts that need lubing.
However, I agree with every bodies complaints about the macro ports position. But if you do as somebody mentioned already, just "tuck" it in so it's touching the trigger guard, it doesn't really get in the way. And it also helps if you "paw" the gun as well (by paw, i mean grip the LPR and then thumb over breach/barrel area. You can't get any more stable of a grip.

I'd still prefer a detonator. Always have worked well for me, and the macro fitting is at the bottom, and it feels good.

ive used a det lately with my quest and the recharge was better than the stock, but the stock reg is alot easier to maintain so its a personal choice, and the stock reg did keep up with everything i asked it. But if your looking for peak performance id still go with a 2-liter, love that thing. The best reg around IMO

of course i'd also prefer the 2liter+ but i could make myself a necklace of detonators for the same price :D

LOL.The stock reg is a great reg.It does its job for the BPS the quest will shoot.I use a CP reg cause the I have big hands and the fitting bothered me.

I've used detonator on my omen/promaster/timmy and I'm so used to it and i love it. air fitting is at a great place. However I dont like its looks, so I'll be getting a CP for the quest.

well i won't be buying a regulator for the looks, i'm only interested in recharge/flow rate and consistency. it could look like a upstanding stool for all i care if it has excellent performance

detonator is a great reg for a great price if you dont care about looks.

The last REAL reg tests that I checked out(about a year ago)....the CP's were decent but were def not the best.
Some of the best were the AKA 2 liter, stabilizer(forget which one), evolve Pi.......and believe it or not the stock ion reg(IF you got a good one with no defects).
I wouldnt be surprised if the stock quest reg is better then the CP.
