Ok, well, I aquired a Icon E a few months back for 30, it ran perfectly but after tearing the whole thing down it no lnger does so, it leaks from the barrel and feedtube, but I cant for the life of me fix the leak, I have tried new orings and even tried a valve from an Xtra I have laying around, it just wont work.

Help me save this thing.

Does it leak when cocked and when uncocked?

both. the hammer and main spring arent depressing thre Valve stem at all when its not cocked, so that cant be it.

are you sure you didn't lose the spring the pushes against the cup seal?

yeah, I've looked twice, I've even flipped the Valve both ways to see if I had it in backwards, nothing.

Did you remove the valve before it leaked? This is a really dumb one, but i did it a long time ago with my spyders, see if the valve is in backwards. :rolleyes: lol. also try oiling the o-ring and cupseal with paintball oil.

If you've already changed all of the o-rings on the bolt and striker, try lubing them, too...

Just a thought. :P

dow 33, Evil pus, tippmann oil, Extreme Rage gun oil, nothing worked on the orings to possibly fix it, its not rings.

yeah make sure the valve isnt in backwards. Also just air it up with no striker assembly in (or at least no main spring) and see what it does from there.

I bought a "broken" Icon-E for $5 to be used as a loaner and I've pretty much got it all together (picking up the velocity spring strut, running it through the paces after practice). I think I might have installed the valve plug in incorrectly because when I did air it up (I had about a shots worth of air left) I heard a leak. I then lubed up everything with Dow 33 and hoped for the best.

Is it a common leak from that area? The hissing came out from almost the frame, I didn't have enough air to fully inspect it but I'm pretty sure that's the problem. I just printed out the schematic so I'm going to run through it all again tonight.



Ohh, and can I run a regular reg on it? I have an old torp that I want to toss on, will it work fine with the stock vertical asa? What about a timmy bolt?
EDIT: I just realized that I kinda jacked your thread but I figure I'd post in here rather than clutter the section with more problem threads. If you have a problem with it I'll surely delete it.

Is the valve in exactly the right place? Is it held in with the setscrew like it should be? Is the cup seal screwed onto the stem all the way? Try a couple other cup seals and change the valve o-rings again.

I had a rebel a while back do this, update your cupseal, 32* made these semi plastic/"delrin" cupseals that dont seal very good and after a while they "dry" out and dont seal. I replaced mine with a rubber capped one from a piranha or spyder and it seals fine now.
