View Full Version : The weight of the Ephiphany.

Ive heard many people complaining about the weight of the gun.
I find weight distribution (aka balance the most important part of a marker setup).
So how is the balance on the ephiphany (with say a halo and a 68.4500)?
Thanks,
Sid.

people complain about the weight because they compare it to the ion's. They do complain simply because everything that is plastic on the ion is metal on the epiphany.
plus, the balance of the marker really only has to do with the length of the marker. it should be fine

Thats true..you'll notice the weight, but while you're in a game thats the last thing on your mind. Mine doesn't slow me down a bit.

me neither but it does feel nice to have a lighter marker if you really want you can replace the reg with a shorty get a light body like a cut through and a stiffi and your epi will feel as light as an ion in reality it may not be as light but you wont really notice the difference

You will notice the weight, but it is very solid and very well balanced with a micro maxflow on an s-rail with pulse loader. Magnesium alloy is also roughly 20% lighter than aluminum.

What is the exact weight of it? Is it around the weight of an Impulse? If so, then I have absolutely no problems with it.

2lbs 8 oz for the Epiphany.
3lbs 8.8 oz for the Impulse. (stock, no upgrades)
I just weighed them.

The gun is centrally heavy as that is where most of teh eight is felt for me but the gun is sweeeeeeeeet.
No regrets and thank you Sean for getting mine with all the SP Goodies ...

ions are not light, they're ok in the weight category but not even close to the best, i never noticed mine being "too heavy" though. In games it all runs together anyway and you probably won't think twice about it, but now holding my etek next to my ion I'm amazed at the difference in weight (I know it's in a different class, but just an example). I think SP messed up by not making this gun lighter, look at their competition, both the mini and rail are extremely light guns, and both are selling like crazy, but not the epiphany... that's just my opinion

Greatigns all,
Sorry to say do not have one of these markers; but want to add my two cents worth. I reall don't notice the weight of the marker during play at all. I agree with Fireitup, for me its about balance, you can have the least weighing item but if it is not balanced well it becomes combersome and far more tiring then something that is small and heavy. Just think about your own past and items you have carried that were large and combersome and those that are heavy and small.
To me if it is balanced well, like my shocker and promaster, overall weight does not become an issue for me in a game. Anyway my two cents thanks for reading.

if you can not hold a paintball gun then you are weak and that is the problem. I do not find the epiphany to be heavy, I think it is dumb when a person with a dm4 calls an epiphany heavy.

They have a point since the epiphany is just a slightly upgraded ion..

I totally agree. This gun really isn't that heavy. Most people just think so because they compare it to the ion. And when you're playing, none of that matters anyway. If a gun feels heavy to you, do some push-ups or something, the gun's not the problem, its your own strength. And unless you have a steel tank (which I actually still use, and there's nothing wrong with using one) you're a puss if you complain about the gun being too heavy.
