Rochester here, I used to play at Hell Survivors, but had a few problems with the ref (it's a long story, the short version is that I was goggled from about 1ft away after I'd surrender and the ref didn't say anything and he was right behind me). Anyway, the people at Futureball are way cooler and a lot friendlier. If you have problems with you gun they help you fix it, unlike at Hell.

I'm in Canton, I play At HEll Survivors the most. As for Futureball, well I will not play there again. I will not support a field or store that back stabs other fields and stores. I would rather not go into the details. But I will if I am pushed for my reasons. Besides for there indoor place, You better wear some padding on your butt, cuz its slick as hell.

Cool, so at least you don't have to play indoors. As for FREE AIR, Watch how they fill your tank. You are supposed to fill them slowly, When you slam the tank it heats the tank up. This shortens the life of your tank. Plus I have seen with my own eyes them blowing a Maxflow right of the tank. Then blamed it on the reg. All I am saying is watch anyone filling your tank. repeated fills like that will make it so either the tank blows or it fails hydro testing. Just a FYI. But you get whole sale prices? Coool. What kinda gun ya got?

Futureball has a SupAir field? I play stock class their sometimes. We are just starting up a branch of the Paintball Marshals. I am from Ann Arbor and usually play at Hell's Survivors, but i am getting really sick of the huge games. 10 vs 10 or less is ideal for me. it's not fun when you can't move around. Last time i was at Futureball, it looked like there weren't that many people, but it is $5 more there and i like some of Hell's Survivors' fields better. However, I cannot stand Everglades and I hate how they always make us play it.

I agree that the way Hell runs is a bit of a annoyance. But they are the best field around. What I mean by this is, Not only the biggest but they do run a it in a respectable way. Future ball is not so lucky. The only reason it is still in business is because the owners father owns the property its on. Oh except where the indoor field is. But I think they screwed themselves there. They had signed a three year contract to be in the Livonia MAll. There problem whether you agree or not that they have a problem is. The will talk badly about other stores and fields. I no this first hand. Not from hearing it from so and so. I was told that BAttlegrounds has no Shocker tech thats certified. The guy that was certified left and BAttlegrounds kept the certific. I checked on this, and it was incorrect. They also said the they don't no Angel and they rip peaple off. I was present for there example. One of Futureballs peaple had a Angel propblem so he came to Battlegrounds because they don't have anyone at all that knows Angels. But the problem was the valve, they didn't have the valve in stock and repaired it as best they could. the problem is it took so long to find out that it cost $200.oo for the repair. So now later when the started to malfunction it was BAttlegrounds fault. And yet the Person didn't return to get the gun fixed, he just copmplained about them. To tell how good this guy is with guns, he bought a cocker and doing a game. It malfuctioned, he threw it on the ground cuz he got mad. Like a little boy throwing a tantrum. He broke the grip frame and bent the body. So that gives you a example of just one person there. I also was told that Hell Survivors was selling there land. I checked this out. they aren't in fact they just bought more land this year. They talk badly about Hell's ref staff. This I have seen first hand. Yes there is issues about the refs. But all are do to the fact these are kids. and all infractions I have seen has been in the dead zone and not in the field. Just talking about stuff they shouldn't be when kids are around. SO I prefer to go to Hell instead of futureball for these reasons. All are true no matter what anybody says. This doesn't even talk about the nitro problems. But we won't go there right now. Futureball is run by peaple acting like cocky punks. So go ahead and respond saying how wrong I am. I will rebuff. :D
Oh, Furture ball fills your tanks Pballa a little over 4500 psi on your 4500 tanks? Thats cool! I love when somebody disreguards the max pressure rating of a tank. As I stated before , if you fill the tank slowly it will not drop in pressure as it cools. Doesn't create the heat.

Yeah, when I was at Futureball, i had a Hell's Survivors tag on my shirt and a guy working there said, "Oh, don't wear that thing around here," and took it off. I don't know if he was joking or not, but it was kind of weird, not rude, but weird. I really like Hell's Survivors a lot, but I wish they would get some more refs and run three or four groups instead of just 2. They have the fields for it, but they just prefer enormous games, I guess. I've only been to Futureball once, but when I was there some of the people seemed cool, but I heard about one problem. Apparently, a guy shot another guy once and it broke so he moved on and then the guy whirled around and shot him right in front of a ref and they were both sent out. From what I have seen at Hell's Survivors, most of the refs are very active and do their best to make quick and fair judgements. I also like how they jump in and call you out really loud after you call yourself or before if you're looking for a hit and you are indeed hit. This allows you to leave the field without getting shot several more times. Futureball does allow our stock class group to play without a field fee though, since we are a recognized organization.

I was just informed that the person who did most of the items I have listed about Futureball is no longer working for them. and was asked to stop bashing them. So I will. BUt I still issue a word of caution for everyone. This is not only for furture ball ok. IF you have nitro, it is important to watch when they fill. So what ever field you are on , pay attention to what happens to your Gun. Remember most of these peaple don't realize that they are doing anything wrong. They just want to get you filled so you can go play. You can either go along with this or ask them to slow down. That is your tank you know.
As for Future BAshing of Futureball. I have said what I know. For right now I won't be playing there for a while. I will give a chance again. The point of the story is we all need to stick together. Paintball as sport has more things against it then most of us realize. So we all must act in a responsable maner. No shooting signs or peaple off the field. Those peaple need to be delt with. Because if we don't self regulate. the Government will. We all need to stand together, or we all fall. I will get off my soap box now. I have said my piece.

Hey guys! Yes I'm one of the refs that works at Hell Survivors. I hate Everglades 2.the eson why we can't fix guns is because we are not allowed to. We used to be able to but know we are not supposed to touch any gun besides the rentals. The reason is that a ref cut his hand on a gun he broke then filed for workers comp. I do Agree that futureball has a prob bashing HSI and Exotic Sportz, but they sponsor our team so what the hell. The owner of HSI and Exotic Sportz is for some reason selling the back forty where all the big games take place, like the monster game. And I think this is slowly goin to make HSI fall apart. And maybe then all the refs from HSI will work at Futureball and make there fields better. At futureball I noticed that the owner James actually comes to the field every weekend and knows the refs names. Futureball's SUP' Air ball field is GREAT and they put on good tourney's. When ever I ref at HSI I try to play Heartbreak because it is way better then Everglades.

Plus Futureball has a pimp Hyperball field now.
I'm from Ann Arbor area, and have always played at HS.
I met the owned of HS at my store and started playing there after that when I moved here.
I do not like trying new fields, because I have had bad experiences with fields/ref/players. etc.
The one thing about HS I like is if you have a legitiment beef with something, they will listen. A ref there got let go becasue they were looking the other way to violations. I told the field manager Ed and never saw that Ref again.
I have heard so many differeing things about Futureball that I am skeptical to try it.

Hailstorm, Do you work at Battlegrounds? Thankyou for all you input, but apparently you look at things from the other side of the coin. Rec-ball is about having fun, and people spend their money to have a fun time and hang out with friends. If they wanted serious hard-core paintball they would play more tournaments. HSI operates strictly like a business. Some of their operations are impressive, but how does it feel being neglected by referees, ripped off in the pro shop, ignored by almost all employees, having no input in the games being played, the owner never coming by, refusal by anyone to have equipment fixed. The list could go on. I'm aware that there is field bashing by Futureball, but please tell me some flat out lies that have ever been told. There have maybe been some false assumptions once in a blue moon, but that is it. James is the coolest guy that could ever own a field. The reason that he still owns a field is because he outsells 99.9% of stores with his great prices, ability to help people out with prices, good staff and a very steady flow of players at his field. I have played at many, many places where nitro is filled incorrectly, and if you think Futureball does a bad job, you need to get out and play at some other fields. The reason a former employee took his gun to Battlegrounds was to get his 14 way fixed, and you should know that 14 ways are not easy to fix and only a certified tech should fix it. However, wouldn't you think that 200 dollars to pull out the 14 way, change the o-rings and put it back in is the equality to getting bent over in prison? Futureball is about having fun, getting your moneys worth, a relaxed environment and being around good people. If you got a problem with that, that's fine, BUT please tell me if you have ever heard of a word called HYPOCRISY? That's just my 200 dollars worth:evilgrin:
p.s-Seraph, you rule!!!
I guess who is friendly/helpful depends on who you talk. A friend of mine went to the futureball proshop to get a tank valve repaired that he'd just purchased online, because it was close to him.
They gave him cr*p about not buying it there and said they wouldn't fix it. They then gave him more grief about his choice of markers.
He then went to HS. They charged him $25 for a SP valve and replacment, and did it on the spot. Not cheap, but he needed it done, and agreed to the price. Furthermore the guys at HS were far more helpful.
As to their field, I love woods ball and that what it is mostly. The refs generally are great guys (and girls) and any problems I have had with them were taken care of by the field manager.
I was thinking of taking a look at Futureball, but I just saw their website and the fields look small, simple and BORING. But thats just my opinion.
Aren't we glad there IS more than one place to play?
The only thing I do not like about HS is there are almost always too large a groups. I prefer to play no more than 15 v 15 and thats on a LARGE field. 5-5 to 10-10 is much better in my mind.

My turn, Now as for Nitro fills. I have seen every field I have gone to fill to fast. But Future ball is the only one that I
have seen blow up a regulater on a nitro tank. As for Future balls low prices. well. that may have something to do with
a lower over head for James. And if you knw so much , you why. His daddy owns the land. Nothing wrong with that
at all. In fact that is great that they can offer low prices. Now lets talk about the fatmans Angel. And his LPR. Well He
wanted his gun fixxed, thats cool. but he had a tiem limit if I remember correctly. something about a game coming up.
Well as momory serves. He was given the option for BAttlegrounds to order another LPR, but He wabted his gun
back soon. so they tried to rebuild it and clean it out. But I was standing right there when he was told he needs another
LPR. But because of the trouble shooting and trying to figure out what was wrong with the gun. The bill did go to
$200. So go ahead and find out how much the LPR costs by the way. They are expensive. now for the field bashing,
well I have not heard James himself say anything bad about another field. Its the employees. I won't bring up that a
team playing there left while practicing because of comments said to them. I won't say the comments because I didn't
here them first hand. As for Hell's prices, well I guess just under retail price on most of there stuff is ripping peaple off.
Owners that don't care. Its true Dave has other interest, namely his new restruant. But Ed is always there. I have
spoke to HIM any time I have a problem. and the problem is handled within seconds. And if ED is not around
GECKO is. He will do the same. Now, because HS is so large. The counter peaple don't seem to be as knowledgable
as say TEX or some Air smiths. Thats where they fail. There sails staff needs to learn more about the guns they sell.
But I have never heard DAVE or ED, much less any body who works at HEll say anything bad about Futureball or
BAttlegrounds. Infact I have talked to refs who like to play at Future ball. As for any equipment that needs repair? If
something is broke and is a libility, don't you thing they would fix it?They don't want to get sued. input on the games
being played, hmm. Well when your so big you have 3 or 4 groups playing at once. you have no choice at what
sequence you play the fields. So I guess if you have ten guys playing then you can take a vote. Some peaple like to
play with more than ten and things have to by the numbers. otherwise it doesn't work. Incase you didn't know HS is a
business, and it makes money. It grows becasue it makes money. Don't HS have 4 stores now? They must be
commited to the sport. Otherwise peaple would not go there. Now. DO you work for Futureball? I don't work for
Battlegrounds. another question, did the Fatman fix his Angel? and he is that the Angel he is trying to sell now? Just
wondering. I had not brought up this situation again because the fatman has left FUture ball and he asked me not to
bad mouth them anymore. I was willing to stay quiet. BUt if we as a industry can't talk about whats wrong with our
stores and fields. how can the owners and such learn what they may be doing wrong, or what they employees are
doing wrong. I am not saying that the fatman was the only person doing things at futureball. in fact it wasn't all him. But
I was asked and I complied. So you can either let this go or we can continue. your choice. So stop waving your
finger in my face like I have no clue what I am talking about. Because that aint so.
JUst for everyones knowledge, a new LPR for a led is like $300 in this area. I have also confurmed that the Angel fatman is selling is the said Angel. But its supposed to be fixxed now.

Hailstorm, why do you hate Futureball so much...
Futureballs proshop is much better then a few nearby competitors, who jack up their prices so much its rediculous. Futureball keeps the prices where they should be, low, and they almost always have what you need in stock. I prefer to shop for my pb equipment there, they are my first stop.
Plus.....
Futureball is the only place in Michigan who hosts tourney's worth going to. They get a pretty good turn-out, and the prizez are great.
And for the comment about them not being safe or whatever... at least they havent been sued.
I played at HS today, and after a particular game, I told a Ref that I noticed one or more players' guns were hot. Now I have been playing 12 years, and at HS for only about 2 years and I KNOW what a hot gun's trajectory and impact look and feel like. Bark doens't come off trees easily.
The Ref said Ok, and radioed down, and had EVERY player spot chrony'd. I was right. A number of players were shooting 300+ One guy had his Spyder turned up as far as it would go. Each offending person was dealt with according to HS' rules.
I sure hope your not including HS in your list of places where the Refs don't listen or care.
:P
Oh yeah, and those of you spreading the rumor that HS is selling off all their land and will be unable to do the big games anymore, is WRONG. Period. What they ARE doing is completely different, will not jeopardize their ability, and is at least 5 years away.

I like HS' chronographing policies as well. I like how they have the stickers to mark a safe gun and they do spot check fairly often. Safety always seems to be top priority there. Futureball does not have quite as strict of a setup for chronographing, but seems to have trust in the players to chronograph honestly. Futureball tends to have smaller games though and many of the players are well-known around there, so that seems to work fine. When there were rentals I saw the refs helping each of them chrono their gun. I've found both places to be well run for the most part, and safety is top priority also. Refs at both places are strict on barrel plugs and masks being in use. I have found both stores to be helpful, but I usually just buy online because the prices are always better, even after shipping. One thing that really bothers me is that Hell's Survivors sells o-rings at the black trailer for $1. That is ridiculous! Futureball sells them for 50 cents, which is also overcharging quite a bit, but at least that's not quite as bad.
Its little things like springs and o-rings that are the really big money makers in the long run for most on-site pro shops.
If you have to go to the on-site proshop to buy an o-ring, or spring, or allen wrench, Its your fault. that $.50 or $1 will hopefully make you be sure next time you go to play you are well prepared.
Anytime you have store A far away from any other similar stores. Far enough away it makes store A convienient, you will bet that that store has higher prices. It's simple supply and demand.
I worked at a hardware store that was in the middle of nowhere. About 30 miles from the nearest chain hardware store. Almost everything was 25% to 300% higher than elsewhere. The area was a tourist/summer home area, and the people still came in and purchased things at the price posted. Few people complained. Those that did were sweetly told where the next nearest store was. Some went elsewhere, most purchased.
Was this wrong? I'm sure some of you are SCREAMING 'YES! YES!'
But, this store had to make all of it's operating capital during only the summer months, becasue the winters turned the area into a freezing hell into which few people ventured. Yet if you want to be credible in this type of store you have to remain open-year round.
My Point?
When you go into a paintball store, you'll find the less-frequently sold items marked up(angels), and the commodities(things you HAVE to have), like o-rings are higher. It's convienient for you, so you buy. Or you buy on-line at $5 for 100! (for the o-rings, not the Angels)(but then there are some ngel URLs for $5 but good luck figuring out how to shoot those URLs) :)
Now, I never buy paint online. I buy it at HS during the summer months. They sell a TON of it, the buy a TON of it, the prices are very competitive. It's comparable with online prices and its RIGHT THERE and you don't have to worry about broken balls in the bags. Supply and Demand You think they sell more paint than they do Angels? Of course.
C-Mac
09-03-2001, 12:26 AM
Yeah, the paint prices are great. I haven't found anything better after shipping on marballizer. I know exactly why they charge ridiculous prices, but their store is just down the street and everything is cheaper there. I just think that the trailer should be to help people out who are having problems, not to screw them over because they only have 75 cents and can't afford an o-ring. I haven't found o-rings $5 for a hundred online, but I bought a bunch for about a dime each and avoid buying anything from the trailer. Usually people are very friendly and will loan tools and things. I would give someone an o-ring if they needed it, just to take business away from the trailer, plus I'm a decent person. There is not really anything wrong with what HS is doing, it just shows that they are greedy. They have to make a 2000% profit instead of 500%, literally.
I agree. :/
Greed makes the world go around! (unfortunately)

Its not that i hate Futureball, I don't. But when a field openly talks bad about other fields and stores. Its leaves a bad taste in my mouth. As for Futureball having a great tech service, maybe for the low end guns. Because why would fatman have to go to another store to get his Angel fixxed. Oh, and I have a current price for LPR's for LED's. about $300 if you can locate them. They need to stop the gripes about other stores and fields. If it wasn't for the guys they sponcer, who would stickup for them.
I love the talk about lawsuits. Who is being sued and for what? If its Hell, well its bound to happen. namely the volume of peaple that go there its bound to happen. But owell. I'm not the sore looser.

I don't have to establish any facts about the field again. However Hailstorm, I sure hope you don't work on angels because I have never seen an lpr cost 300 dollars. But, a 14-way does cost around 250 if for some reason you have to purchase one. An upgraded lpr, which is located in the front of your gun, costs only 40 dollars. It's not worth debating with anyone on which field is better, because arguing on the net is completely worthless.

In any case, he admitted his mistake on the mixup between the names of parts, and his most recent statement is not arguing which field is better, but just mentioning that only futureball puts down other fields and stores. That seems like a reasonable enough statement, so just leave it at that and perhaps forget any slips of tongue from before.

Thankyou C-Mac. Think about it this way. In order for me to know what I do. I must have played at Futureball. So I guess I must like the field. But I would like to see a change in the backbiting. We need to be supportive of each other. The stores rely on the fields so there customers can play with the equipment. Its been a long hard hual for those of us who have been around along time. I guess what I am trying to say is, we need to stick together, check our attitudes at the door, and support one another for our sport. Its kinda like family. You may not like your brother, but he is still family. This post may not make to much sense, only one cup of coffee. sorry

09-06-2001, 09:15 AM
Well life is ironic sometimes. LOL. The whole purpose was to try to get them to change. The big thing is talking bad about other stores and fields. There actual operation of there field is good. And to actually give them a compliment on there refing. They do pay attention to whats going on. And as time pass's,one can change there perceptions. I will still play at there fields without any hesitation. I still think there is no room for backstabing. Thats it. HS has a great field, F-ball does too. I don't travel out to the Wolves den so I can't comment on that. been over 7 years since I was out there. When I started to comment on F-ball, I was upset at there actions. I have calmed down and my opinion has light nd" up. So don't condem me for talking bad about a business who does the same. My comments are ment to bring change. Not say don't ever go to F-ball. We need to support each other. The whole point was to have word get back to the staff, so they no that its not cool to do.

A great mix of elevated forest and speedball/concept fields. If you get a chance to get out there you won't be sorry. The staff is very friendly and an airsmith is always on hand too.

as far as the fields futureball is WAAAAAYYY better than hell survivors,in my opinion.futureball has more tournament type (speedball) fields.i personally like tournament style paintball over rec-ball (woods, castles, big games, scenario, etc) because they are more of a adrenalin rush and your not sitting around for 20 minutes before you even see someone. as far as air fills go, futureball does not do anything different that any other field or store does about tank fills.all fields that have air rams fill tanks the same, also the guages on tanks are cheap and sometimes inaccurate, compared to the hundred dollar gauges that are on air rams wich are more precise and stop at 4500.you would HATE the nppl's new air sytem it fills a 4500 tank in 2 sec. flat!as for the regulator that blew was it a pure energy tank which is notorious for that?and has happened at many places before(but it's the fields fault  ) if you want to talk about tanks being overfilled, the 2nd (and last time) i was at h.s. i was getting my tank filled with 2 other people the guy running the cascade system wasn't paying attention and filled the tanks to 5000 psi!!!! needless to say mine and another person's burst disc blew!! and the third person had to bleed his tank to bring it down to 4500 psi. also the reason they (the ref's or anyone working the field) won't fix your gun is so they can send you to the store to charge you labor for it. "you don't make any money fixing it for free" is their mindset. so don't think hell survivors is all high and mighty. as for fatman's angel, would you be pi$$ed if a store charged you for parts that THEY messed up? they seared a few o-rings on the 14 way when they put it back in and kept charging him for the o-rings THEY tore up. i don't know about you but if someone was fixing my gun and broke parts on it and tried to charge me for there f-up i would be pi$$ed too. also after paying all that money the gun STILL DIDN'T work right and i had to take it with me to gettysburg nppl to get it fix right and they only charged him $25 to replace the ram and lpr.there wasn't even anything wrong with the 14 way!!! so do you see why he was pi$$ed about being charged all that money and the gun STILL DIDN'T work?and if battlegrounds is a wdp warranty center than why did they charge him $200+ when it's only supposed to be a $25 deductible?and when i told the techs (i belive it was cobra paintball) about the story they asked who did the work and charge him that much i told them who and they shook their heads and said "we've had problems with his stuff before". also i personally asked their "shocker tech" at battlegrounds if shocker line (really high flow macro line) had a high enough burst rating to run on a angel. he said "sure, no problem" so i bought 2 fitting's and the line and the first time i used it- the line burst, the second time the line and a fitting burst. so much for knowing what their talking about:rolleyes: .and as far as the other fields being angels and not talking bad about each other HAHAHAHAHA you have absolutely no idea what your talking about!!!!!also fatman didn't sell his angel. he had it anodized.i know because i reassembled the gun.
WOW
It takes you 20 minutes to find the other team at HS??
Are you legally blind??
I find those fields kinda small, becasue you can almost ALWAYS see the other team immediately after the game starts.
oh...I know. You run and hide along the tapes!?
As to the tanks being over-filled? I have played at HS DOZENS of times, and have NEVER seen them overfill anything, nor them blow anyone's burst disk, so I doubt those claims.
If you were running a business, would you keep giving your product away for free? Ever think that someone fixing your gun who is not certified VOIDS the warranty? How about liability? Some dork kid fixes your gun on the field incorrectly, something happens and someone gets hurt?
I know the owner and the field manager of HS, and they run that field professionally, and responsibly. Like a Business. Which is what it is.
I have also never heard anyone talk about another field. Period. I know mostof the refs that have been there a while, and ofter hang out with them between games, so I do know what I am talking about. It just seems a lot of people in here are getting upset over nothing. Play where you like. Don't put down other places just because you do not like them.
in short. Grow up! And lets change the subject to something more constructive.

First, The Fatmans Angel: The 14 way was rebuilt by Battlegrounds. Hmm guess they did it right. The Gun was out of warrentee. I guess they do that after 3 years. Seeings I think his gun was a 98. As for the orings. I beleave the only ones that where replaced where the ones that where in there. guess if you don't take care of your gun, your orings tend to get brittle. Now , You'll say how do I know that he didn't take care of it, well anyone who throws the Cocker down hard enough to break the frame, wouldn't care if he oiled it or not. Also he doesn't care about wearing stuff out on it. Why do I no this. Who in there right mind takes the feedtube off all the time. Those little threads will wear out. Everytime the gun put away without the tube on. His case won't fit the gun with it on.
If a ref of a field fixxed your gun on the feild and it then brakes , who is responcible? The field? or the person you allow to mess with your gun. So as for your statement that its HS's mindset you don't make money doing stuff for free. It covers there butt. What if your gun explodeds? A line bursts and puts steel into your arm. Can you say lawsuit? Let the Techs do the work. at least thats what they get payed for.
The Nitro tank that had the problem WAS A MAXFLOW.SO they did a Pure energy tank too? If you read my post, You will realize I said that everyone has a problem filling tanks. For example. A friend of mine, getting his Shocker filled. Its a vert feed. Or at least it was. The guy in the trailer dropped iton the counter, he hit only the vert feed annd stapped it off. He then picked up the pieces and handed them to the guy. and said the fills free. And thought the guy would go away.NOT! Needless to say the problem was handled. Now I am going to speak slowly now. All fields have a problem with quality help. Why? Because they don't pay squat. So you don't get high quality peaple. Why don't they pay much? Well because then the peaple wouldn't come play a field having to charge $40.oo just to play. But you have great refs and staff. Its a give and take. You want quality service you have to pay. And I will say it again. The paintball stores and fields are in business to make money.
Now last but not least, You asked the Shocker tech at Battlegrounds about LP line? What store did you go to? You didn't think about it yourself? What does LP stand for? Or did you talk to a kid working there? There are two cert. techs there. Wonder who they may be. Now if your so good at putting the Angel back together. Why didn't you fix the gun for Fatman. But really I don't care. This is all old news. There has been improvement in F-balls practices, at least to a point. I will not talk about the to the point part. at least not this time. I had let this whole issue pass. Now you come in here and stir up the fire. Why?

First , I never said HS or any other pace was perfect. As for Fatmans Angel. Um excuse me, but how many did he have? Now how many does he have now. And as for me, I guess being told I have no idea what I am talking by a kid who doesn't even know what LP stands for really hurts my wittle feelings:(

first, i don't waste my time playing rec ball(it's incredibly boring, imo). so no i don't "run and hide along the tapes" .try playing tournament ball if you want real action and aren't too scared:eek: . as far as fixing guns it doesn't take a rocket scientest to fix a cup seal, but exotic would rather charge $45 dollars a hour (1 hr. min.) to take 5 min. to fix that. now if someone who worked at a store or field knew how to fix it and said they would fix it for free if i had the part i'd say "sure". i guess we're not all rich like you guys. oh yeah i've heard of TONS of lawsuits involving guns with their cupseal put in backward:confused: .also does a well run business steal other business by lying? that's what h.s. did on at least one occasion.a pre paid private party that was booked at futureball accidentally went to h.s. they asked h.s.if this was futureball, h.s. siad "oh yeah your party is here" then charge them more money to play.lying to them the whole time.
as for fatman's gun,NO it wasn't fixed right if you could read? that's why i took it to the gettysburg nppl to get it fixxed right! their was nothing wrong with the 14way to need it to be replaced. the problem was the ram and lpr. also as for the orings that were replaced, i'll give you a quick rundown on that. when a 14 way is pulled out it comes out very easily, putting it back in is the hard part because you can sear a o-ring very easily, because there is a sharp point and the tolerances are very very tigh. battlegrouds keep searing the orings and keep charging them for there mistake and you see nothing wrong with that:confused: ? also yes it is out of warranty that's why w.d.p. charges $25 MAX deductable! with any led they will fix anything on it (14 way, valve, lpr, etc.) for $25 dollars. i guessing if you weren't so busy playing at h.s. and playing some real ball :D at tournaments you would know that! also how many stainless lines have you seen burst????? as for the shocker tech it was at the canton store, and it was .........doug page, the owner who specifically told me that!i thought (and was right) that the shocker line only had a 250 psi burst rating, i specifically asked if it could handle 850 psi he said "yeah no problem". oh, as a 24yr old "kid" yeah i really don't what lp stands for even though i'm aka excalibur certified. ummmm...what was there motto? the "low pressure experts" or something?? so go back to your ghillie suit and gun with a 18" barrel and scope and play with the rest of the newbies at h.s.:D

Well I know Doug. He knows about the pressure limits of that hose. I am not putting to much credablity behind your words. Say what you want. You are wrong pure and simple. And by the way squirt. I have been playing for one hell ofa long time. So cool it with the newbie comment. And it sure sounds like you know a lot about angels. I wonder why old fatman didn't take the gun to you. By the way. It was explained to him exactly what happened with the angel when he picked it up from Battlegrounds. He was told it wasn't fixed. But he needed it for a game. Its his own fault for not allowing enough time to fix it completely. So don't condem them for not doing a complete job. How do I know what was said. I was there. Pure and simple. He knew the gun wasn't fixxed. The $200 bill was for the time that was spent on the gun. Because it was screwed up bad. You had to fix one thing to figure out what else is wrong. They got it working as best they could with the time they had. So quit trying to act all big and bad. Stop beating on your chest like a APE. Your spouting off about things you think you know. So mister low pressure expert. go impress somebody else. I am not impressed.

I live in NORTHVILLE!!! I play at futureball every weekend.. Oh yea, I just quit my team, and I am looking to get on one asap. I am like 5'4 120 lbs and i play front/mid..
Yeah Hollywood, your a KID :)
I started playing when you were too young to sit in a grown-ups chair!
If it takes you 20 minutes to find the other team at ANY field, your mentally deficient. Thats what you said. If you'd like to admit you like to exaggerate and lie a little, go ahead, people won't hate you for it.
I have played tournaments. I have a couple of trophies on my shelf about 5 feet away. I SAID i PREFER woodsball. I don't like cheaters, and I see far too many during tournament play, and got sick of it, and got out. I like to play for fun.
If you like Futureball so well, PLAY THERE, and SHUT UP about other fields. Your little insecurity problem is bothering everyone.
I have never played there, and do not spread rumors and other cr*p about it. You do not play H.S. so shut up about it and talk up the fields you like to play instead of putting others down to cover FBs shortcomings. I have yet been to a PERFECT field. Act your age
Rich? Nope, but I do have a geat job and can afford my hobbies.
As to Battlegrounds: Once agian, never been there so I will not talk about it, nor did I try. If your friend (or you) brought ANYTHING, ANYWHERE to have it fixed, and it was either not fixed or not fixed right and you or they still PAID for it, your dumber than you sound. Caveat Emptor (Let the Buyer Beware) If you buy guns you do not know how they work or can't fix them yourselves, your at other people's mercy. If you can't afford the game, take up ping pong. I don't care.
And if you don't have any money, move out of your parents basement and get a job. It's obvious you can't support yourself playing Tourneys LOL :)
If your looking for free repairs, you get what you pay for. I can fix my guns on my own.
Good night all!
Hey everyone!
If you spend $1,200+ on an Angel, you get to pay only $25 to get it fixed!!
Oh yeah, Angels cost about $200-$300 to manufacture...
And stupid me spends $300-$500 on a marker and it never has to be fixed. Even after I send over 60,000 rounds through it.
You know, keep it clean, put a wearable parts kit in it every so often, don't mess with it if you don't know how it work :D
And I don't have to talk crap about everyones markers so I can rationalize my purchase. Oh yeah, I can hit a target with just a couple of shots, not hoppers-full.
Gee I wish I could send wdp my $25  :P
I'm NOT putting down Angels, or any other guns. They are cool, but surely not worth $1,200+. but some people's logic is just screwed up. Hewlett Packard will fix my computer cheap out of warranty, but I would sure not expect a local company to fix it as cheaply. They have as-of-yet to make money off me. Thats why there is high mark-up on products with really long warranty or really great service plans. You PAY for it in ADVANCE.

to zee
yeah i was exaggerating. rec-ball is very slow and boring...IN MY OPINION!!!! i have played woodsball (zap amatuer open) and i really don't like it. i prefer air ball which is great because on play on ultimate air's factory team. also there are lots of cheaters in rec ball, but it's not as known as tourney ball because there isn't thousands of dollars in prizes, money, and sponsorships on the line. so no one really cares. also i have no insecurity problem i said "IN MY OPINION!!!! FUTUREBALL is a waaaaayyyyy better field" read the "in my opinion" part a couple times;) it's is MY preference of local fields, not the mandatory preference for everyone else! so who is everyone that i'm bothering???? as for being able to afford the game....i don't have a problem with that for me it's FREE:P ... sponsors take care of expenses and i get FREE equipment:D (read the signature) also wdp fixes lcd's for FREE! they only charge a $25 deductable for led's because they are out of warranty( and they just started this year even though the warranty has been expired for a few years). i can hit a peron with one shot, but why just stop at one? BONUS BALL THEM:D !!!!

Nope, sorry to disapoint you. I don't work there. Other wise I may have been there when you cam e to talk about LP hose. As for the squirt thing. It was how you were acting. Thats it. Actually for the most part, everyone here is being pretty respectful. I can see that. I would much prefer to set aside the differences we have. I understand we have attitudes the size of the Empire State building. But. we all have to agree that we love the same sport. I have no hard feelings for F ball. I am not going to call you a lyer. Makes no sense and it gains nothing. So if you have browsed threw the WDP area, and have seen my Angel posted. [USA and my Angel thread] Please if you see me around. Introduce yourself. It would be nice to meet you. We as a comunitity are small yet. We all need to stick together. If you notice I trying to let drop. I am a big enough man to let it drop, hopefully you are too. Rec ball is totally sweet. Hollywood, I don't know what you are talking about. Your obvious lack of skill and intelligence is probably the reason why you have to play tournaments. In rec ball, I can utilize all my skills. Such as using cammo, ghillie suits, scopes, crawling, 20 inch barrels, I don't even have to shoot that much. You guys waste so much paint, it doesn't make any sense to me, what are you shooting at? Me and my bad *** pump can take out just as many people as you and your POS angel. I've seen you and Garrin play, and I believe that I could shoot you both out with only two shots, If I used my pump. Just a thought Hollywood, maybe you should stop being a girl and play where all the big boys play.................In the woods baby!!!!!!!

I live in Whitmore Lake and work at Futureball.
I see a lot of fighting between the two fields/stores, and a lot of wrong info being said.
Most of the topics that were argued are very old, and have since been resolved.
Futureball has good fields, good refs, and good prices. No, I'm not just saying this because I work there, I honestly believe it.
Hells survivors is just a huge piece of land with 8 fields that are pretty much the exact same. Aside from the village, its mainly just attack and defend a fort. While this works for big games, rec games there are BORING. They dont even have a speedball field.
Just a few other things, futureball has many people who work there that know angels in and out, and the "fast filling" hailstorm was talking about confused me too at first. The nitroduck pump they have pumps fast, and it SOUNDS like its filling fast. If you were to actually watching the gauge as they fill you will see it takes quite a while for it to fill.
If you havent been to futureball in a while, try it again. It has been running very smoothly for a long time now.
Shoot me an email if you're going to show, I'm the ref with the bright red hat:)

PiranhaPro, You are a POS. However, futureball is still cool. I never understood that fast filling thing either. You should have seen it at World Cup, it took Literall, ONE second to get a 4500 fill. It might possibly have been one of the greastest things I have ever seen at a tournament. All a player has to do is walk up and hook their bottle up, and push a button. That's it. However, all the players must be fools, because now they will fail their hydro test.

I played their indoor field this past weekend. I had a great time. Refs were great, filled up my nitro tank just fine, and the whole day went smooth. My only gripe would be the very cheap field paint. I would like to see some better foeld paint to buy. But as far as a filed and staff, they have it!

Thanks for the help, the guy I talked to said it was $30 for the day, plus $90 a case for paint. I usually play local and near Lapeer/Flint area and never do I pay more than $10 for all day and anywhere from $45 to $65 a case for paint. Is this price he quoted the usual? My daughter plays as well as me and $150 for 1 case of paint and 2 admissions is pretty steep. We both have our own equipment and I carry a scuba fill station. Does anyone know of a place to play that is reasonable?

This is sad, I have to drive to OHIO to get a decent rate. Let me see if my business sense is working.... Gouge the newbies, and when they find out you can play at other places for half the cost, they will never return, or provide a place thats affordable and have regulars that spread word of mouth. Toledo Indoors has for $80- 1 case of paint, 4 nitro refills and play from 10 am till midnight. I understand that these places have to make money, but COME ON ! I know they only pay $20 -30 a case wholesale. Oh well, I really feel bad for the young kids that havta save up for 2 months to play for 3 hours. Geez what a rip-off
PiranhaPro
12-28-2001, 08:58 PM
Ok, so its more expensive than some places, each field is different. They have to pay insurance like any other field, as well as rent for the building, and probably have to pay something to the Livonia mall. Its the only paintball field INSIDE a mall in the world, I'm sure the mall charges something to cover their *** should something happen. It is located in the middle of Metro Detroit, easy to get to. Paint is more than 20-30 wholesale, just so you know.
It may be more money, its a good field, isnt a far drive (for some) if you dont want to play there, dont.
1Hailstorm
12-28-2001, 09:50 PM
for some good paint, $43.00 a case wholesale.
bigbean40
12-28-2001, 10:15 PM
My simple resolution is for everyone that doesn't want to pay to play at an indoor to get a huge rec-ball game going in six inches of snow and ice. That sounds super sweet. However, for those of you who do want to play indoor, whether its in Livonia,Toledo, Pontiac, BattleCreek, whatever place it is, understand that indoor fields have a lot of overhead. Rent, heat, employees, insurance, maintenance, blahblahblah, you get my point. It sucks to pay more to play indoor, but that's how it goes. Indoor fields cost more, but I guarantee that in the end, they make much less than a good outdoor field.

Pirahnapro, I have the right to voice my opinion, and by the way I Wont play there, for now anyways, but I dont need you to tell me that. By you working there Im sure you get a discount, And also Severe paint is $22 a case and Marbalizer is $34, and yes this is depending on the volumn a store can sell, I realize this. I really dont wanna get in some argument of something this ridiculous, my personal opinion is it's too expensive, it's really not even that I cant afford it, I honestly do feel bad for the younger crowd that can't pay for this themselves. With that said, Toledo Indoor Arena is a great place to play and reasonably priced, I went there tonight and had a great time. Happy Holidays Mi. PB players.

I never said you couldnt voice your opinion.
Marbalizer at $34 a case? The only fields that could possibly sell paint fast enough to keep an order at 34 a case fresh would be places in Cali such as SC Village. To get it at 34 you would need to order a ton of it, as bigbean said. There is no way any store in or near michigan sells paint fast enough for that. If you're paying 34 a case that stuff is probably a year old.
Oh, and in fact I dont work at Livonia Indoor.
Hey!
Where is the indoor field in Toledo. I might check it out!
I agree that the indoor field in Livonia is WAY TOO EXPENSIVE. Futureball's outdoor fees are competitive, but the indoor is just too much. I have no doubt they have high overhead being in a mall, but I guess that their problem.
I also just heard that an indoor field just opened in Jackon, MI.
pretty cheap to play also, from what I heard.

Take I-75 south to the first exit in Ohio (Alexis rd) go right 3 and a half miles till you see Alexis plaza mall on the right go right into that and its around the back. Cost is $80 for a case of paint, 4 free air fills and all day admission. Its called Toledo Indoors, you can find them on Warpig.com at the field finder section. And believe me I realize the overhead of Livonia, Im guessing maybe $15k a month, they could have bought a place of they're own for say 6 months rent. See you all on the field
Hellbent-1096

Toledo indoor is on the corner of Alexis & Lewis. If you come across Alexis from I-75 when you get to the Target on the south side of the road. TIP is just pasted it on the north in the same plaza as Value City & Sears Hardware. If you need some more indo drop me a line.

Whoa, I never said I pay $34 a case for paint or even $22 for severe, I said " wholesale " not retail, I pay $55 a case for marbalizer and $45 for severe. Team practices get severe for $25 a case, and with Severe, sometimes you get good paint sometimes you dont, its like the good is great and the bad is horrible, no in-between. Thats just my observation of it anyways.

There are more than "issues" with the Hell Survivors refs. If any of those punks worked where I work as a referee (Official Paintball Games of Texas) they would probably be fired on their first or second day. I have always been treated with respect by the Futureball refs -- and that was before two very good friends of mine started working there. Futureball has never overfilled my 4500 psi tank. And with regards to safety violations never being on the field at Hell Survivors - how about those occassion where I have seen refs driving ATVs around the field during big games while drinking beer. So much for the no alcohol rule.

This summer might be the last one you can bunker my *** because next summer I might be getting a job with either the US Attorney Generals Office or with this big corporate defense law firm in Dallas. HS and Futureball are the same price -$15 for all day, but at HS you have the option to only play part of the day for $10. I like how HS separates the players into advanced and general class, and I wouldn't say that Futureball's fields are all better. I like Futureball's Speedball field (Jimmy Ball?) much better than the Thunderdome at HS, but I like the Village at HS better than any of the fields I've played at Futureball. I agree about the refs at HS screwing around in the dead zone too much. I'm sure we could play 7 or 8 games regularly in the given time, if they were a little more on the ball. However, they don't just limit you to 6 necessarily. If games are moving quickly, you can often play more. I'm just glad I have two good fields nearby, both with BYOP.

Dayum. I just wanted to say where I was from and stuff and I got to read all about everyones problems with everyone else. I'm live in Wixom, grew up near Port Huron. I've played at Lone Wolf in Metamora, Hell Survivors, and Futureball. Each field has thier own pros and cons in my opinion. If you have a complaint about a field tell them to thier face, don't get online and whine about it on here. And as for Hollywood getting all high and mighty on Recballers, I have two words for you, SCREW YOU. The fact is this man. Most people play paintball for fun, I'm sure tourny ball is fun, I wouldn't mind playing in a couple myself. A lot of us either cannot afford to play tourny ball or don't have the time to play it exclusively. Rec ball allows us rec players to go out to a given field on a given day and get some games in. No pressure to win, not nearly as much cheating, and most likely in a more relaxed atmosphere. So don't go flaming other people because they don't play in the NPPL or whatever other leagues you play in. We all have to get along in order for this sport to grow. A united paintball community is much stronger than a divided one. While I'm on the subject do you know what really makes me mad? People giving guys crap becasue they're shooting a Stingray or some other low end marker. Guess what gang, those guys end up upgrading to better guns! Did you start off shooting you Angel LCD or tricked Autococker? Maybe you started with a .68 Carbine or a Splatmaster. Hell maybe even you shot a Stingray at one time. So back off of the guys whos equipment isn't top of the line. Becasue chances are next year or 2 years down the road they'll be shooting an Autococker or whatever. Do you know why? Becasue "the guys shooting those awesome guns helped me out when I was a newbie" OK I feel better now.

I think that most of the refs at hell's survivors are good refs but there are some people that screw off too much. When that happens us other refs have to pick up the slack therebye increasing our workload. sigh oh well.:dodgy:

PPro what team was you on? We met alot of good players there, One team imparticular, they were recently formed as was ours, but they proved to be very good competition, they were the only team to actually beat us, but it was a helluva game, and we would love to get another chance  There was only one Team at this tournament that displayed poor sportsmanship as far as I could tell, but Hey outta 32 teams, thats pretty good odds. Can anyone post the final standings, as we left just before the finals. I really hope that division C team did well, but after not getting home till 5 am my mind is kinda fried, and I'll be damned if I can remember their name
We were the team that beat you. :)
We didnt do so hot in semi's. Invasion maxed us the first game, Impact got 57 points on us in the second, and the other Impact team won against us on an iffy call in the 3rd semi. But I'm not complaining, we had two bad calls all day. Out of 10 games thats nothing to whine about.
Dread and Invasion played for finals, we left right when the breakout happened (it was almost 3 am, I was tired) I dont know who won.
If you want to practice or whatever Crash is up for it, just email me or something.

PPro and Johnny_Rotten, I have pictures of both of your teams in action. E-mail me at ilya@paintballchannel.com if you'd like them! (6 pictures of the Crash vs Rat Dogs game)
I'm lazy, could you just post them and then I can take them from here?
Thanks.

Someone stole a black angel lcd late friday night/early saturday morning at TIP. It happened in the back staging area. The Angel was an LCD, black without a reg. It had a chrome dye drop forward, dark on/off switch, 2 adrenalin volumizers, and an adrenalin low rise.
If anyone has any information about this gun, please let me know. It happened in between prelims and finals, and there were only a few teams back there.
Thanks

Doh! I'll keep a look out for you. Do you know the serial number?
Crash, Invasion and Dread were the only teams back there after prelims. I know for a fact no one from Crash has it. I will keep a lookout though.

Well, I know for a fact that it wasn't anyone from Caucasion Invasion, since it was a member of invasion whose gun was stolen, and we made sure we went through everyone's bag on the team just in case we accidentally put it there. I also know that there were some members of other teams back there watching the finals other than Dread and Crash. There were some guys from Team CP or CP Factory that were watching Dread play. I know exactly who was back there, and actually I think I have a few ideas as to who stole the gun. But any information would be helpful.
On the same note. I just want to say that anyone that would go and steal a gun from someone else is a loser. There is an unsaid trust that paintballers have with one another, and that means don't steal or mess with anyone's crap.
For the guy who stole my gun: Nice one, you got over. But i'm a firm believer in whatever goes around - comes around, in some way, shape, or form.
Thanks to anyone who is keeping an eye out for me.

Hey man, I play on the Ratdogs, we were back there with you guys, but we all left just before the Semi's, we are all really sorry bull***** like that happened to you. Is there any unique parts that we could look for?
Firefall
02-12-2002, 06:21 PM
Well, there are a few problems. I can't quite distinguish between G-Force and Rush pictures as the jerseys are similar :) If anyone here plays for Rush please get in contact with me and we can sort these out. So is anyone looking for an extra player for the 3-man on Friday?
bigbean40
02-12-2002, 06:50 PM
Firefall-At the five and ten man, Rush all had different jerseys. At the ten man, G-Force had all the blue dye jerseys. If you don't want to post them, can you email them to bigbean40@hotmail.com

I'll send you an email with the ones I suspect are Rush in a bit.

Yeah, there were 2 black adrenalin volumizers, warped sports on of switch, and an adrenalin low rise. Other than that, it was pretty much stock. They didn't get the in-line reg though, i had that on the gun i was using.
bigbean40 - Not goin to the 3 man, I figure I would already be there late saturday, and I can't do 2 nights like that in a row. I think we're gonna start when the walkons get done, so probably around 9:00 is when we'll start to actually play?!? Not for sure though. We will be there probably around 8:00 though.

dude, who other than Fatman could get chiba like that?
I think he was claiming that it was steamed before he got it. (which drains all the THC out of the plant)
That was NOT marijuana though! That was some sort of hybrid, created by crossing a tobacco plant and a sponge plant or something. (okay so sponges aren't plants, they're animals, but if you were there.....well.......you'd make fun of it too)
Funny Fatman, funny funny Fatman......

Some of you may or may not know me, but I play for The RatDogs from Lapeer Michigan, Due to recent events we are looking for a new Backman to play with us, we are having an unofficial tryout this weekend at Michigan Paintball Outlets field. We are sponsored by Smart Parts, Severe Paintball, Michigan Paintball Outlet / www.e-paintballoutlet.com and Planet Gear. Piant for practice is $35 a case and $25 a case for tournaments with Severe paying 50% for 3rd place finish 75% for 2nd place finish and 100% for 1st, we get Jerseys and Pants from Smart Parts, but the sponsorship will increase depending on our record this year. and gear bags from Planet Gear, anything in the MPO store is at cost including Markers. We want a tournament experienced Backman and maybe 1 very good frontman, who is willing to commit to a team, have no attitude, and have the funds to play. We will be playing all local tourneys (Michigan, Ohio, Chicago, Wisconsin, and the World Cup plus some NPPL's if the team wants to do it) We split all costs on everything, frontmen pay the same as backmen for paint, we feel its not fair a backman should pay for 7 cases of paint to protect the front guys and the buy only 1 case. send me an e-mail at vengence377@netzero.net or rotten@impyowners.com for directions and to answer any questions. Backmen who show up this weekend and make the team will be playing in Skyball next week if you can learn our codes fast enough. Sorry for the short notice. BTW Lapeer is near Flint
