It's definitely one of the best barrels I've used (and I've used a lot of them: freak, pipe, un1tec, kaner, sly, pepperstickz, boomstick). I didn't invest in a kit though and I think my only gripe is that .696 is a bit large for most of the paint I shoot. .693 probably would've been a little better for me; actually some of the paint I shoot fits easily through .689, but I digress. They are well made barrels and it's difficult to find a real complaint with their quality.

They are just as good as any other top of the line barrels out there. I don't have the kit, so when I shoot smaller bore paint I bust out my old CP.

Yes, but notice how I said I've heard and not thats it's the best thing in the world. Personally mine is LOUD as all hell, at least its accurate. This is on my DMC, my Quest is in backorder cause of my color matching ocd.

I hate it. The front has a shitty ass finish (looks liek they didn't tape of teh ports whne it was bead blasted)
Has poor acurcy, and not that great IMO. I replaced it with a freak only because I already have 3 full freak kits.

i was alittle put off by the .696 barrel, but i also have a freak kit and tried sizing paint to barrel and found the freak did'nt shoot as good as the 007 barrel, i have not tried any other barrels but i was told at the field the stiffi works very well also.

I haven't even tried my Freak kit on my Quest yet, because the stock barrel is awesome. I even have a .696 (which is huge for most of the paint i shoot) but I dont see any suffering of accuracy.
Plus its style points cause it matches the gun.
I would like to see FEP give customers the option of just buying the individual backs, instead of the whole kit.

I shot my new quest yesterday for the first time and the stock .696 is frigging stupid! It's like shooting a BB out a .22 cal gun. Worse yet it looked like a pro pitcher throwing a nice curveball but you never new which direction it was going to curve (mostly down and right). I was shooting RPS premium and dropped my lucky 15 .685 on it and shoots ball on ball.

but if he gets the 007 kit then it wouldnt matter...cuz then he could put a nice .689 on and it would shoot tits...just like mine :D

scifipirate I had the same problem just put an o ring that fits in front of the barrel threads so when you screw it all the way on it will stay--it works great for my Quest--as for the performance, mine is .689 and it shoots .689 paint like lasers, and mine at least self cleans amazingly well, gonna get a stiffi cus its lighter lol there is next to no performance difference between the two

i have the .696 and i and i love it... i was so into paint to barrel match in my cocker days that once i moved to other guns where this was not neccesary i have become a big advocate for over boring (sp?)..... i havent found that using a bigger bore will effect accuracy, but it does make it easier to shoot through breaks and makes them less likely to happen from my experience... im in love with the huge bore
also the barrel is 14 inch and looks sexy which are two more good things about it

a note on how fast the 007 barrel shoots through breaks, i was shooting my barrel w.o the front (took it off because it was making more barrel breaks, and also it didnt negatively effect performance at ALL) anyway it only took like 3-4 shots to get through the break, and it was all because my hopper was doing screwy things.
