ok so u have prolly seen my vid http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vZxnp9P1TdM

shooting ropes, ok so i go to practice today andi notice when im shooting its kind of skipping shots, and chopping a lot!

i didnt know what was wrong for the longest time

so i get home after a day of using a sick minion with ul (:D )

and i see one of my detents isnt returning when the bolt pushes it back

ok so heres the real problem.....my eye cover screws are stripped (or at least the heads are)
so i can niether fix the detent or clean my eyes

does any one know how to get stripped screws out? i was gonna use a star key but i dont have ne small enough

any suggestions would really help, thanks

as a last resort you can drill em out....or use and ez-out from home depot.

make sure you use the proper sized allen to get the screws out or tighten them down and youll prevent stripping the heads. if the heads are stripped you might be able to magic them out if your lucky, or need to use an easy out(a scary proposition considering how small they are).
if your detent isnt returning it may be missing the spring or something is making it stick, like a hunk of shell or something. this can cause loading problems.
other things that can make it skip are a loader thats not feeding fast enough or your bip delay being too short, so its firing before the ball is fully in the chamber. if its CHOPPING and not just having barrel breaks the balls may be rather small and rolling back away from the eyes allowing a partial feed, or your loader is pushing the balls past the detent causing partial and/or double loads. if one of your detents isnt returning this could very well be the problem...the balls are getting pushed past the detents.
clean your detents and make sure all the parts are there, use a good loader(halo/empire or pulse) and make sure they are feeding at a proper rate.

yeah thats what i figured.....cuz it fully cycles with nothing wrong but once i put paint into it it starts skipping (i tried 3 reloaders and all 3 skipped)

ill get the eye cover off and see if i can get new screws from fep and ill fix the detent

thanks for the help guys

you MIGHT be able to find the screws at your local hardware store. i dont know any stores around me that carry ones small enough, but you CAN get them at mcmaster-carr(bag of 100). try your local mom and pop hardware store(they might actually have the size, but i wanted them in s/s and those they didnt have)... the one around me has a great selection of screws compared to lowes or home depot. the size for the eye cover screws is #2-56 x 3/16 socket cap screw.

Yesterday my son's Quest started breaking paint and misfeeding just as you described.
We figured it was dirty eyes but I will check the detents when I get home from work.I had just been bragging about how little trouble we have had with our Quests
