Looks like they changed the dates on the web site too, so these are the final dates.

We have a deal set up with the local Best Western (working on other Hotels in the area too) for room discounts. IHOP has also agreed to offer 15% discounts.
Regretfully, we are going to have to increase entry fees by $50 for all classes.

So the first event of the CFP winter series isn't jan.7th or 14th?
A long story, the Jan 7th was the original date, World Cup and Thanksgiving made us scrap Nov altogether and use December 3rd as the finale to the Fall Series.
By this time I had already pushed the Jan event to the 14th but we since reevaluated the frequency of our dates and decided 6 rather than 9 events per year was the way to go.

By far the most combersome part of our events is the rookie preliminary games (anywhere from 5 to 6 hours), being able to play them all on Saturday not only lightens the load on Sunday, but allows those teams who make the cut to get a full nights' sleep before the quarter-finals begin.
Daylight savings being over makes it hard to do it all on Sunday if we have a 40+ team turn out.
We're hoping the 2 month gap between events would allow rookie players/teams to plan ahead.

Update!!! This is how the series will be:
Winter/Spring Series
January 27th & 28th

*March 3rd & 4th

April 28th & 29th

Summer Series
June 9th & 10th

July 28th 29th

September 1st & 2nd

*Note: Word is the PSP is returning to 5 events in 2007 and historically the first weekend in March they use for the second event. We'll keep an eye on it.

Note: As I thought PSP will hold it's first event the first weekend of March, so we'll go with the weekend before Feb 24th & 25th.

Mark, do you have a link to rules.
Someone posted one a couple days ago but it went to the PSP ( they have not posted 2007 rules) which did not list anything.

How many games as a Rookie can we expect in prelims? What will be the cut for playoffs?

Everyone will play 6 preliminary games. You play each team only once for overall points. 100 point max scoring system. Example: 5 per elimination, 1 per live, 25 pull, 50 hang.

The cut is based on points scored and turnout.

For example: (John usually determines this by the way and announces it at the captains meeting following the prelims)

20 teams = top 8 to semifinals then top 2 to play best of 3 for 1st and 2nd, bottom 2 play best of 3 for 3rd and 4th.

30 teams = top 12 to quarters then top 3 and 1 wildcard to semifinals, then top 2 to play best of 3 for 1st and 2nd, bottom 2 play best of 3 for 3rd and 4th.

40+ teams = top 16 to quarterfinals, then top 8 to semifinals, then top 2 to play best of 3 for 1st and 2nd, bottom 2 play best of 3 for 3rd and 4th.

ROF Rules:

15 bps ramp as explained in PSP rules (2006 rules will safice).
But in simple English: Every board made has fractions of shots such as 14.9 bps. We require less than 15 bps due to some cosmic forces in play. If you set your guns to 14.9 bps you should be ok, however some have been not ok at this setting, so we suggest 14.7 or 14.5 bps.
You are all responsible for your gun/board, ignorance is not an excuse!!!!!! Leaving your instruction book at home is not an excuse!!!!! You may obtain instructions for all board manufacturers at the pro shop. As long as they are available on-line. Just know what freaking board you have!!!!
Anyone found with breakout modes or other "V-word" type BS-cheats will get a 25 or 50 point penalty (not sure which) and I believe a suspension.
