Go with another 32 degrees marker like a E or LED. there like $20 more but there electronic. I have a E and it shoots pretty fast.

Well ive shot the IconX and I have a Icon-E. I dont really like either one of them. The X cuz i dont think its that good of a gun. and the E because I had to tighten the triggerframe to make it work as well as it should have and by the time i realized that i had a new gun about a year later. I'd go with the Xtra, its a great beginner gun, But if your looking for an electric go with like a Imagine or something. Those are pretty cheap but still electric.

if she really likes paintball just skip the spyder stage and buy an ion, but if you still want a good beginner gun i say trilogy autocockers are great starter guns better than an electric spyder too
i owned an imagine and it fell apart after a few months of play, stay away from spyders and icons and get her a tippman or an autococker

but its his first gun, he doesnt want a high-end to learn on. if you want a very sturdy, upgradeable marker that will never break. tippmann ftw. if you want a cheap gun that is tighter and goes faster than a tippmann, go for it, but be warned. it will break/fall apart.
