View Full Version : "Laser" eyes w/ harness available soon - VERY limited!

Thanks to FallNAngel I'm going to have a very limited supply of eye harnesses to attach the new "laser" eyes to. Well 5 to be exact, will be available. I will make them in GREEN or BLUE only, since Clairex is currently out of red.

Now this will be the complete harness with eyes attached. When I get in more eyes, I'll still have loose ones if anyone wants some, but unless FallNAngel makes more harnesses, this may be all there is!

You will get to chose the color, and I will make it and send them to you.

Post if you're interested. If I get like a zillion requests, maybe I'll have a lottery to see who gets them, or maybe get Haser to randomly pick 5 people for me. I just want to be fair to the Quest family.

Depending on when I get the harnesses will dictate when I will have them done. I'm going to guess they will be ready to send out next week if I get the harnesses sometime later this week or early next week.

PS. LU_aDaK and jeffreyjames, no I haven't forgot about you guys. I've got 2 sets of loose eyes set aside for you guys. Just need your harnesses :tup:

EDIT: I changed this thread to be inline with PBN rules. No prices. This is just to inform you guys I'll have a few of these available soon.The harnesses should be in soon from FallNAngel, and once I get them and working I'll post up with pictures and what colors I have.

If you're interested in making your own, please see my original mod thread on how to order the parts and HOWTO make your own. I don't plan on making anymore of these unless the ones on my markers die :P

Totally man, I'm not looking to make a buck at all. Just wanting to hook up fellow Quest owners.

And by the looks of it and the number of PM's I've got, other then the people I've promised eyes to, I might need haser to randomly pick a few people for me. I want to be fair :D

Again, I'm not looking to make any $$ off this. I make over 6-figures in my day job. I just want to hook up loyal Pbn Quest ballers.

I got the blue eyes working tonight, so ya I can now verify the Panasonic detector I have works with the blue LEDs! :tup:

It looks like I'm going to need a mod to help me out picking some people. The demand has been off the hook (any volunteers Mods?)

I got a call from Clairex yesterday and they said that thanks to PBN members, they are almost totally sold out of their LEDs. They said they've had more orders in the last few weeks for them then in the last few months combined. I had to explain to them what we were using them for (crash course in paintball), and they are now looking for paintball companies to tallk to about maybe putting these in markers. If I find out anything more about this, I'll post up about it.

If, but some fluke, I get more in and I am going to sell them, it will be posted over in the B/S/T forum. Most likely, FallNAngel will be cranking them out since he has the stuff to make the harnesses and I don't - so you might have to start bugging him pretty soon, lol! :P

Dang, someone didn't waste any time at all jumping on this bandwagon!

I talked to Clairex again this morning and I guess some guy ordered quite a few LEDs in green, red and blue the day after my mod was posted. Well the dude already made harnesses for timmys and NME's and has them for sale on e-bay! Hahaha!

That's just funny to me, sorry :P

I got the harnesses from FallNAngel yesterday, and I spent last night putting them together. Only problem was that 3 of the LEDs I got didn't work. Ya awesome... :crash:

So I got 1 blue and 2 green eyes working. The 1 red I had didn't work, and neither did 2 of the blue ones. I was thinking maybe I soldered them on wrong, but I took a multimeter to them, and they are dead... :(

Well Clairex still owes me more LEDs, but they won't be in until November, when their next batch is made.

I still have the harnesses, but I guess now I've got to wait until I get in more LEDs. :xeyed:

Blue, green and red all work awesome.

CPS (http://www.cpspaintball.com), which is FEPs newest fully sponsored team, is testing them out on their markers up here in NorCal in all 3 colors. They are asking for more as well, but I just don't have them yet. :xeyed:

They said they like how the eyes won't go into bypass mode on the WAS board right away, well at least until the eyes are REALLY gunked up. The light is able to go through some paint, and I matched them up so the emitter is at 20*, rather then 8*, so it gives the eyes more leyway before they go into bypass.

I going to call Clairex tomorrow and see what the status is on the eyes they still owe me. Sorry for the delay guys. FallNAngel came through, I just had a few bad LEDs. :rolleyes:

I still bet you can get them to work if you swapped the leads. Just speaking from experience. :evilgrin:

Ya I tried switching the LED leads around to see if they were just made backwards, like some are. Unfortunatly the couple I thought were bad, were bad. I hooked them right to the board to see if maybe it was the harness, and even tested them with a multimeter. But with anything that small, you're bound to get a few bad ones.
